Nick,

If I feel worse on T3-only, for some reason, just cutting ERFA Thyroid

in 1 day, going onto 10 mcg T3 daily from that day.... Can I switch

back to ERFA Thyroid whenever I feel like it?

The first thing I learned about metabolism, is that it's SLOW... And

you must do all changes in medication very slowly! I didn't do anyting

slowly when I removed 50 mcg T4 in one day 6 days ago. :P

I didn't replace those 50 mcg's with anything. It felt strange doing

such a thing!

It's 11 am and I got up 2 hours ago at 9. I haven't taken any Thyroid

meds yet. Trying to make up my mind. ERFA Thyroid still, or T3-only.

I am bickering towards T3-only.

My Iron at 53 was from a different lab. The have the range 30 to 250.

At my regular lab, I am at 45, and they have the 20 to 300 range.

Guess I'm still low on Ferritin. I went back to taking 2 x 25 mg

Amino Ferrochel Iron daily. The episode with the heart happened after

taking 4 x 25 mg Iron, so think I will increase the dose slowly to

3 x 25, and maybe 4 x 25 later.

Question is... Is it safe to START a T3-only treatment when I _know_

my Ferritin is low, and I _know_ I have to increase the T3 doses

in the near coming time? (days/weeks)

HC: 22.5 mg

Ferritin: 45 (without stopping Iron supplements 5 days before)

You asked me about my temps. They are definitely NOT low during the day,

and not very cold in the mornings either. So...

Is it possible to have rT3-dominance if temps are normal in the daytime?

Trying to decide what to do right now. Feeling weak and I need some T3!

Wow. It feels so weird being on only 1 grain ERFA now, and

switching to 10 mcg of T3.

2 years ago, I was on 100 mcg T4 and 40 mcg T3 daily.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!

Can I even LIVE on 10 mcg T3? :o

With T3-only I'm thinking, in the beginning when I'm on 10 mcg daily,

what if, after the second dose of 5 mcg at let's say 1 or 2 pm, I

start getting very weak, slow, cold, and sleepy.. HYPO.. I know

this probably won't happen fast, cause I still have some T4 in me.

BUT, when these symptoms start coming to me, it's time do dose

UP on T3... BUT if my Ferritin is in the 40s.. Is it even WORTH

trying T3-only, if I cannot increase the dose as fast as my body

tells me to do, what it craves for and needs?

Yes, but it will delay you clearing RT3. If you have only been on it

for a few days then a swap back is straightforward, if you've got

higher in T3 dose then a " phased swap back " is the best thing to do as

the T4 levels will build slowly

It's down to the time the med takes to stabilise in your body. T3

takes around 3 days to stabilise in level after a dose change.

T4 takes several weeks

Natural has 3 different time constants attached, those of T4, T3, and

T2. Most people don't feel the T2, the ones with a LOT of resistance

to T3 will feel the T2 relatively more, especially if they are on a

large dose of Natural, say 6 grains or more.

Those time constants are all for people with a suppressed TSH and

their own thyroid production at zero. If you TSH is measurable and you

are producing your own T4 and T3 then there is yet another time

constant involved, that's the time it takes for TSH change to occur

and your own thyroid production change in sympathy and then your own

T4 levels restabilise as a result.

As you can imagine being on a med containing T4 with a thyroid that's

still producing is a bit like turning a supertanker round.

When you are on T3 only and T4 has faded out it's all a lot more

civilised, you feel the effect of changes and know if they have worked

in a day or two and are stable in 3 days.

>I didn't replace those 50 mcg's with anything. It felt strange doing

You have had so many problems that changes feel worrying to you. I've

been saying to drop that 50 for a couple of weeks but the thought of

it worried you a lot

That ferritin is low, but the amount you are supplementing is quite

low as well so the results won't be as inaccurate as it would have

been if you were supplementing faster

You will be able to start T3, just not build the T3 as quickly as you

would otherwise

Haha, what do you mean by that? That is's extremely slow? My Thyroid

gland works. And nobody knows why I got Hypothyroid symptoms when I

was 13. COULD it have been some kind of stress, or even mercury

fillings causing rT3 to grow at that time? That was like 17 years

before I tested my rT3 ever, and That happened last year, or even

early this year.

Can I simply be euthyroid for an unknown reason? And how would You

treat yourself if you were euthyroid form an UNKNOWN reason?

Normal doctors say they don't use thryoid meds for euthyroid

people - But isn't EUTHYROID really rT3-domionance that demands

T3-only treatment?

Another day on ERFA Thyroid 1 grain. I am kind of shaking more and

more every day. Maybe not more and more, but still, every day now...

I didn't shake like this when I was on 20 mg HC. Coincidence or a

direct result of taking more HC, because I am shutting ACTH down?

When I hold an item, my hand can't stand still. And when I move my

hand, or arm, it cannot move smoothly.. It's like it's missing oil

in the joints or something. I was never like this before. Weird.

I am on 22.5 mg HC now. Yesterdays dose was 27.5 mg HC with the 5.0 mg

stress-dose.

So it goes hand in hand. It can work, then. I take 50 mg Iron

daily now. Going straight to 100 mg was maybe a bit too much and fast.

It's SO weird. When I type, and try to move my index finger slowly,

it's movement is jagged. NOT smooth. Just wondering why I have this

new symptom.

And how much can rT3 get WORSE when I cut 75 mcg Synthetic T4 and

add 38 mcg Natural T4, really??? Like I did.
