Robin Ann,

It was comparable to getting CPR certified. It was a long weekend

class. Still much to learn, but we all passed the written test with

flying colors. No big deal. I ain't no professional or anything, lol.

Very conscientious, lol. It reminds me of when I tell DH I'm fasting.

Inevitably, he becomes uncharacteristically interested in if I want to

taste this or that. Oh well, if food doesn't interest you, then none of

it matters much, eh?

What a great plan for the end and breakfast. Why steak? Why not

clean-raised liver or vegetable soup? And why are you shunning eggs

too? I guess it's the allergen thingy. Keep us posted.

Well, steak would be easier to digest than veggie soup, which wouldn't

provide any protein, which is what I wouldn't have had for two weeks,

and steak is lighter than liver. I think it's odd that you seem to be

suggesting two different extremes like liver and veggie soup, on

either side of steak.

Anyway, I'll really *want* a steak at that point! What on earth is

wrong with steak???

Just a note, when you begin taking the #2, you will probably have to

increase the #1 by a capsule or two.

No doubt. I would suggest you get plenty of fresh air and sunshine.

And do some light walking as well. Akathists are great during a fast

as well.

The Paraklesis would probably be more appropriate to this one... ;-)

Well, I was thinking out loud and wondering, not suggesting. Veggie

soup made from bone broth is what I was thinking, though, and it does

have protein. It might even have beef in it.

Nothing wrong with steak. I had rare roast beef with horseradish sour

cream last night. Raw steak would be best, but if it is seared and raw

inside, that would taste better to me.

True, but I'm already planning to add the bone broth before solid

foods so what I'd be adding is vegetables, not the broth. I think the

drawback is it's more " comlicated. " It seems to violate the rule of

adding one food a day, since a soup would contain many different

vegetables. What if one of them gives me a problem and I don't know

which? Also, I think there are various types of vegetables that

contain carbohydrates that are harder to digest than others, and I

think that in general, fiber might not be the best option.

So I'm going to keep it simple regarding veggies at first and add raw

sauerkruat, which I know to enhance my digestion rather than hinder

it. I was actually thinking that some fruits might be best for next

plant foods, like pineapple. Although, I react weird to some raw

fruits so it might be best to cook fruits just in case at first.

I'm not so sure of that. I think that very rare steak might be easier

to digest than raw. I'd have to experiment with it. I prefer steak

that is high-heat cooked on the very outside but is only warmed enough

to soften it and make it feel warm on the inside.

Hi Robin,

Can you describe how you do this? I've read about the implanting idea but

was never comfortable with it. Hearing how someone I know has actually done

it would be helpful.

I couldn't agree more! After the first three or four you are pretty much

over your life-long phobia about dealing with feces and your butt. Very

helpful and kind of stress releasing. I'm a pretty uninhibited guy and am

still surprised at how much resistance I had to everything I had to deal

with the first time I did an enema a year or so ago. Now I couldn't care

less.

A really great trick that I've discovered post fast is to cook your veggies

in bone broth until they are very soft and then blend them with a hand

blender until they are pureed. I seem to tolerate that extraordinarily well

and it tastes great. In fact, sometimes I'll take a hunk of cold raw butter

and throw it in the middle of the bowl and kind of eat around it. Yum.

One more--steak and muscle meat in general is harder to digest. That's

important because it affects mineral absorption.

Hi everyone sorry its been so long since I last reported in. I ended up doing

a 31 day water only fast then I had to stop there has been a family emergency

my youngest son " s wife 7 months pregnet and 5 grandchildren were in a head

on collision thank God they were in a 13 passager van so there injures were

minimum except my 9 year old grandson ( they were all in there seats or

seatbelts on thank God) was thrown forward and hit a metal bar that

went

across the back seat split his forehead open from one side to the other the

plastic surgeon came in to repair it said he would never have feeling in it

again

then he had to have surgery and have about 4 inches of hie upper intestinal

removed where the seat belt squeezed him so thigh he is home now but having a

lot

of problem remembering his short term memory is gone the dr. said give it a

little more time if there is no improvement soon they will send him to a

nurgeloist. please pray for him. the rest of the family was black and blue

scratches

and cuts the van rolled 3 times and stopped on its top all the windows broke

out so they were covered in glass. the other car lost controlled it was

raining real hard and she was trying to answer her cell phone so we were told

she

was killed on impact 38 years old mother of 10 the man was in the hospital not

expected to live 3 children 12-16 all in hospital in bad shape. So as you

can see I have been preoccuptied.I believe the fast would have been better if I

could had went a few more days I still have some stiffness in myhands and

wrist. I have not had any medication since I started my fast the doctor did tell

me when I started refeeding I could expect a flair up and will all the stress I

was under could cause a flare up. I did have a flare up but it was nothing

compared to what it use to be and was short lived. the diet they say will make

all the difference I know its a big change in the way that IM use to eating but

I will get use to it I have already started adding a few things back in to

see how I react to them so far have added tomatoes, onions, last night I added

potatoes this morning I feel a little stiffness in my fingers so I guess I

will delete them for about 3 weeks then reintroduce them to see if that the

reason for the stiffness.but to be pain virtually pain free for the first time

in

almost one year thetas fantastic and no medication I intend to fast at home

about 5-10 days every other month my sed rate when I left was 25 my cholesterol

was227 down to 148 my weight went from 198 to 173 I have gained 10 lbs.back I

should have lost more but I have low thyroid but thats 15 lbs and was a side

benefit.

I'm so sorry this has happened to your family. I pray has a

It's to bad that your fast had to end this way. With all the stress

This was not to report anything religious, i.e any spiritual realization during

fast. merely the healing effect of abstaining from food and drink twelves hours

of the day whilst adhereing to the diet.

==>Joe, fasting is not a good idea when you have candida. You needs

the nutrients to build up your immune system.

I work with a couple people who fast during Ramadan. They have to " fast "

from sunrise to sunset and then get to eat. I don't see this as a big

deal. It's more like my eating schedule becomes sometimes - when I'm

really busy I often don't eat at predetermined times and sometimes forget

to eat breakfast and lunch.

It's long-term fasting that becomes a problem. Dr. Atkins addressed this

in his book. When the body goes into ketosis, it looks for proteins to

break down fats, etc. If the body isn't supplied with protein, it breaks

down the muscles of the body instead. Not a good thing!

Hi,

Here are my two cents worth :-)

- My basic approach with this regimen is why not give it a try and

follow it as is rather than modify it beforehand or before giving it

enough time? Seems to me it works fine as is. (Of course, if there is

a genuine problem with something, one has to make informed decisions.

For instance, I still react to chicken eggs, chicken, and possibly

beef; so instead, I would eat duck eggs and turkey, as well as bison,

horse and deer, all of which do not prevent from following the

regimen as is. Other had difficulties with the electrolyte drink and

found creative ways to ingest its components. Also, if someone is

medically and severely allergic to something (e.g.: lemons), it would

make sense that they abstain regardless, rather than making

themselves severely sick.)

- On the other hand, maybe your body is doing well enough that doing

that particular kind of fasting does you good, as you described. All

the better for you. For my part, though I fasted in my twenties,

fasting would not be good for me at the present time because of

candidasis and hypoglycemia; that's where my body is at.

- As well, from what I understand, the mission of this support group

is to help along the way with Bee's regimen specifically, rather than

explore many avenues, which is different from other groups and might

take some adjustment. I find however that there is still lots of

really useful and new information posted all the time. I for one am

glad I found this group and happy to stick to this structured

approach because I was getting overloaded by too much and conflicting

information, and not much else had worked completely before this.

I'm glad that your health has improved much (which is the ultimate

purpose), and I hope my two-cents-worth/understanding-of-this

regimen/group makes sense. :-)

Take good care,

Fran

==>Zack, I agree with you that the type of fast during Ramadan is not a

big deal. I kinda jumped the gun on that one when I saw long lists of

meals. :(
