That happens every once in a while. One of our group,

I think Sandy, mentioned that there was some

maintenance. Other than that, I think sometimes a

server goes down and mail is rerouted along another

path and you start getting mail out of sequence.

Dz, Diane & Dennis are you enjoying the snow? I

wish I could be back there I would be enjoying the snow. It's funny 21

Yes there can be hearing problems related to the PA. It is not necessarily

the PA itself, so much as the pain medications be taken. Things like Tylenol,

naproxen sodium, Lodine, and other pain medicines can cause diminishment in

your hearing over time and ringing in your ears. I find myself not being

able to hear monotone conversation in a room where there is other noise

surrounding me. The middle tones just seem to drift away. Its almost like

listening to a bad cell phone or watching someone's mouth moving, knowing

they are speaking to you, but only hearing parts of the conversation and

having to ask them to repeat themselves multiple times. Bummer.

<< you should be able to get that information without too much

trouble, but you will need to do it yourself. >>

You should be able to go to the hospital medical records department and fill

out a form stating what information you want. You don't even need the full

hospital record.

Is this loss of hearing irreversible? Do you regain your hearing once you stop

taking those meds? I remember someone posting an article a while back about

codeine and that it can cause loss of hearing when used for a long time. I

would appreciate any info being that I have taken both medications over a long

period of time.

Thanks,

I knew what antibiotic they used on me. That was 4 years ago. I have asked

In most states in the USA you are entitled to your medical records by law.

The easiest place to find the information you seek will be in the billing

records where the hospital will have listed the drug used. Copies of the

full billing record simply do not draw attention. If the billing records

are inadequate, you are entitled to a copy of your complete chart, etc.

Sometimes that can be a bit harder to get, you may have to put up a bit of a

fuss as even though the law is on your side, many people do not want to obey

it. Either way, you should be able to get that information without too much

trouble, but you will need to do it yourself. Asking the hospital staff to

do it for you is a prescription for frustration.

,

Most of us are on numerous medications. I would

recommend that anyone who has psoriatic arthritis go

to a used book store and buy a drug handbook. Most of

these handbooks are printed every year and a used copy

will cost you $5-$10. They contain great information.

This doesn't take the place of talking to a medical

doctor or calling the pharmacist, but it can give you

some good basic information. In the beginning they

are hard to understand. Most contain an index to help

with the abbreviations. My wife is a RN and I use her

Nursing Drug Handbook all the time.

Hi terry

Sleeping was the hardest part for me when I was on the treatment. I couldn't sleep at night, but could always fall asleep when watching tv.

The Dilaudid I take for sever pain.. also gives me sever itching...so I

try not to take it too often..Dr doesn't want me to take it more than 2x

weekly anyway..but I always try to go longer!!! I wait til it's absolutely

unbearable-- for a few days or longer then I give in.

my itching. Told me if I started feeling blue, To call him right away &

he would start me on something eles.
