I think the reason that most doctors dont recommend it is there is no long term

studies. I have heard that many children will get it back around puberty and

then noone knows how long it will last. At least if you suffer through it most

children will see it go away around or before puberty. I know this was our main

concern in the decision. Plus it is a surgery, that in itself is risky.

hi i am confused just what is the & nbsp in your letters? and just to let you

all know. my son went to his specialist, and she said the good thing is he is

growing and they are making new studies every day unfortunately none lately.

but take comfort in knowing that his grandmother is still alive after having

numerous organs removed. so he should grow well. that's it no tests just take

the colchicine and prednisone when needed and she'll see us in six months. she

said that t & a does not always work and they can start over in a few years.

i think going to a specialist so far away is a waste of time when his ped.

knows him better then she could ever try. sorry just mad. good luck to you

all get what ever you have to do done while they are young because as they get

older there is really no hope for that miracle were all looking for.

I did have a problem with one of my incisions. But its was because it was on

my waist line and my pants would rub against it. Dr told me to put gauze on

it and antibiotic around the edges and not directly on the wound and after 1

week of antibiotic rubbed around it and gauze on it...it healed great.

same with me sometimes when reading messages and hear about problems with wounds

wondered if there were different methods.had mine done 2005 but think it was

always too tight and so never really ate properly.just had complete unfill had

immediate relief and have an appointment in july to have fluoscopy too check all

I also have a lot of bad pollen/dander/etc allergies and they were perfectly under control before the Samter's kicked in. I tried allergy shots and they actually made me worse, I never made it to the maintenance level. When my sinuses are stuffy, whether from polyps or just stuffiness, my asthma is worse. Do you need another surgery because of polyps? My suggestion is to try skipping a week or two of allergy shots and see how you feel. I got sick and skipped my shot and then realized I felt better than I had in a long time and told my doc and we stopped the shots and I am glad I did! I've been clearer ever since. Go figure. My allergist's thoughts were that I have so many allergies and other sinus issues that the shots just made everything worse, not to mention I am constantly exposed to several of my allergens, mainly horse and cat.

If your asthma attacks are at night, you might want to evaluate when you take asthma drugs. I was having attacks in the evenings and my doc and I realized it was because the Singulair was not lasting 24 hrs. I added Asmanex in the morning, problem solved! I also take my Allegra twice a day for the same reason, it just did not last. It is good you have found this group and are asking questions! Hopefully you will find something that works for you.

Do you irrigate?

It was not a fun year and I do not want to go back. I am understanding that steroids don't help many of you anyway. I have discovered that I am the most sensitive to any colors on medicines. We also live in a manufactured home. I sometimes wonder if the formaldehyde makes things worse since I have all my asthma attacks when I sleep and in my new car. We are already working toward building a new house. I have started the Feingold diet and this has reduced my Albuterol use. I still need help with the congestion. I am afraid to do anything my doctor's say because so many of the solutions they have offered have made things worse (more medicine). If I took all the prescriptions they have suggested I would own a pharmacy. That is all about my situation. Sorry this is so long.

I also have a question. I recently went to a new primary care doctor he recommended a test called Bio Meridian Stress Test. I did some research and it sounds a little out there does anyone have a experience with this? Is it crazy or helpful. My doctor is a licencened Doctor but is know for being opened minded to alternative meds.

I may try skipping my allergy shots.  I also am always exposed to my allergies horses and dogs.  Our lifestyle does not not really allow for me to stay away from either.  I have so many allergies and sensitivities I cannot avoid all of it so I tolerate the horse problem because I enjoy it so much.  I definitely need another surgery for sinuses and tonsils!  I do not irrigate because it causes extreme congestion.  I don't know if I have not found the right solution or what.  I have tried saline and onion juice.  Thanks for your welcome!! i believe charter schools are State funded - my step son got accepted to one

here in nj. challenge them with the statute and ask them to show you their

authorithy to deviate from the written law... once you show them you are not

The Charter School that my kids have just been accepted into say that

immunizations are mandatory. The form they gave me does not have the section

that you can sign refusing vaccines. Do Charter Schools have more " power " over

this decision than normal public schools? In the public school my 2 older

children are in I always just signed the special section and they gave me no

Well, if you do need the surgery, try irrigating afterwards. It made all the difference in the world for me once I was cleared out after my second surgery. I think I ended up needing the second surgery because I stopped irrigating after the first surgery. I have not stopped since that second surgery and that was at least 2 years ago... and I am still good! I use 2 teaspoon Kosher salt and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in 1000mL warm tap water, twice a day.

If you stop the allergy shots I definitely want to hear how it goes! Sounds like you are similar to me with lots of allergies yet you refuse to stop being exposed to them! I've owned my horse for almost 21 years now, getting rid of him and the hay and grass is just not an option!! And my doc said (I'll never forget his exact words), " You are so allergic to so many things that getting rid of your cat won't make any difference at all. " And it was the horse and cat allergy shot that caused me problems every week when I got my shots, it would always react slightly on my arm. And to be honest, I have not been around my horse or any horses since the middle of May because I have moved to CT and he has not yet moved, and I am not significantly better or not stuffy, I am about the same as I was when I was going to the barn twice a day. And besides, if you are going to be stuffed up anyway, why not do what you enjoy?!?

I am floating in the same boat! I am allergic to the planet!!! I have 3 large dogs that live in my home and my doctor continues to tell me that they are part of the equation to me getting better control over my Samters. I continue to tell him that getting rid of my furry family members is just not an option. I keep my house as clean as possible and have Heppa filters throughout my house. I am also so allergic to dust and live in Colorado, the dust capital of the world. Even if I got rid of the dogs, the dust and Colorado trees and pollen would still effect me. I continue to say that I was dropped off on the wrong planet. I am waiting for the mother ship to come back for me!

My cat sleeps on my chest at night, and she is a long-haired cat. I frequently wake up with her pressed against my face. The biggest issue I have is my eyes might itch a little if I rub them after petting her. Of course, my allergist did suggest she not stay in the bedroom, but that just isn't an option.

Pollen is my biggest problem and unless I stay inside with the windows and door shut all the time, I can't eliminate my exposure to that! I am hoping however that moving to CT will help since the growing season is much shorter than in NC.

So keep your furry friends! I doubt that is the main reason why you can't get your Samter's under control... or try the experiment, if you go on vacation for a week or longer, do you get any better? I found being away from the critters even for several weeks did not matter, so why get rid of them?? Having said that, my cat allergy is not a severe one. I do know people who cannot be in the same room that a cat was in but is no longer in... however, I'm guessing your dog allergy is not that severe if you have 3!

I have two cats and both sleep on my

bed. If I close the bedroom door I’d be kept awake all night with their

constant scratching and meowing to be let in so like you, it’s not an

option to close the door.

I don’t have any problems with them

though except that the largest of the two that weighs in at 19 lbs sometimes

tries to sleep on my stomach, I say ‘tries’ because the weight of

him wakes me up.

My allergist suggested that I leave them

there as the carpets, curtains etc. are far more harmful as dust mites go than

a cat and I don’t really have a reaction to them at all. I guess I’m

lucky in that I don’t have a severe cat allergy or any at all.

Another kt lover! Just a reminder, be sure to keep the kefir and red wine away

from fermenting kt, as I have heard that they can swap bacteria, and get away

from true kt. I keep my kefir on top of the freezer, and my kt completely away

from the kefir, in another room. Just something to think about, and if you are

using raw honey, I have heard that it can damage the scoby culture. I have also

seen pictures of kt fermented with honey and the pictures of the scobies that

slowly die out, just something to be aware of. I have heard that you can use

regular store bought, heated honey, but definitely would take a look-see on the

" net " and study it out, and make your decision based on what you have found. I

don't know, maybe you have already, and I am just saying something you already

know. You'll have to keep us posted on this! lol! Jeani

i think making the KT is awesome. I thought kefir was neat and I enjoy it, but

the KT is fascinating! I've only be at it about 2 weeks but I already have red

wine brewing, regular KT brewing, and KT sweetened 1/2 honey, 1/2 sugar, using

white tea. I've taken pictures so I can see the grow that happens in 12 hours

or a day. I won't be able to drink all that I am making, I don't think, so I

better find some people to drink it. I think my brother might! [Non-text

Now how cool is that? I can't wait to make kefir and

have definatley wanted to make red wine from time to

time.... I'm still trying to decide which is the best

kefir to make for my first go at it.... any suggestions?
