Have a look at the symptoms list in our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk Click on Hypothyroidism in the Menu and then on Symptoms and Signs. Luv - Sheila Hi , the pins and needles are often present with an autoimmune condition. so it is a case of which one do you have! go to the AARDA.com site and autoimmune diseases research center also 101.com/autoimmune. and read all you can as doctors don`t get the training in these areas. regards Angel. Guest guest
got the site and thanks again. On Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 1:29 PM, Angelo <tommybad238@...> wrote: ( can you get steroids in pills?) I do hate getting shots. Sure can but most are not liver friendly. You can buy them over the counter to called prohormones. Yes they are real and I did a few cyles. Research it. Remember just because you can get them over the counter doesn't mean they are not steroids in them. And because they are steroids they may increase your liver values and blood pressure and cholesterol. I recommend not taking the methylated ones. They go right thru your liver. If you go this route write me before buying so I can see what your getting. What they do is take a steroid and add something to it which in legal terms doesn't make it a steroid but a prohormone. It skirts the law a bit. Since it's a prohormone it may not be a steroid but when you take it your body turns it into a steroid.
Guest guest
Barbara, good to hear from you and your good news. Like Terri's just now, it would be so helpful to have stories like this on our RA-ldn group - also the more people who take the trouble to record their experiences (good or not) on 's database the more, easily accessible information will be available to all. http://www.ldndatabase.com/ Margaret From: barbara lochner <blochner2001@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Sunday, August 23, 2009 4:57:52 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] (unknown) Regarding LDN and rheumatoid arthritisI am taking LDN for fibromyalgia. ..and along the way the RA pain in both hands and feet have lessened considerably and right thumb and index finger have unlocked. Just as well because I wouldn't have taken them. Symptoms were severe pain in both hands and feet, right thumb and index finger beginning to lock, enlarged joints in fingers and wrists. Guest guest
All Testosterone is natural or Natural Bioidentical Hormone some call it by different names but it's all made the same way from plants most of it are made from Yams. Even the shots we get from the Dr.'s office or the shots we gave are selfs are made from the same plants. This cut and paste is by Dr. nco. ========================================================================== Bio-identical testosterone means that the chemical structure of the testosterone is identical to the testosterone produced by the human body. Thus, a person cannot become allergic to it. And it functions identically to the testosterone produced by the human body. Bio-identical testosterone are often produced from progesterone derived from the wild-mexican yam, via chemical processes. Bio-identical testosterones are used in Androgel and generally other testosterone gels and creams. The term " USP Testosterone " insures that the testosterone is bioidentical. Testosterone enanthate and testosterone cypionate end up being bio-identical because the enanthate and cypionate esters are cleaved off by enzymes in the body once they are injected, resulting in pure active testosterone. The esters allow the testosterone to be slowly released to the body. Synthetic testosterones are not identical to the testosterone our body produces. They undergo different paths for metabolism and do not have the same activity (they may be more potent for example), nor the same safety as the testosterone our body produces. Examples of synthetic testosterones include methyltestosterone, Anavar, Nandrolone, and other androgenic steroids. __________________ Any statement I make on this site is for educational purposes only and will change as medical knowledge progresses. Guest guest
That's exactly what I thought. I think some of those OTC are touted as bio available testosterone but are made up of homeopathic formulas and herbal extracts. I encourage the use of herbs and am somewhat of an amateur herbalist, concocting teas and tincture from bulk herbs for years. And they do have their benefits and I noticed Maca is used by some in this forum. But no herb in its natural raw state, and I have used many of them for example Mexican Sarsasparillo which was at one time advocated to be like natural testosterone, so simply taking these herbs in their natural state is not the equivalent of testosterone. The chemicals that some of them contain, such as Yam as you mentioned, can be extracted to produce hormones though from what I gather. It seems from your one of your previous posts that is what you were stating. Is this correct? tpc > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone know exactly what " natural > > testosterone " > > > > is? Guest guest
I Lorna, all sufferers of hypothyroidism are allowed free prescriptions if you have been given a diagnosis of hypothyroidism by an NHS doctor. However, you must have this diagnosis before you can get them. If you have a diagnosis, you take in your prescription for thyroid hormone replacement and the pharmacist will complete a Form FT10 and your GP will sign it. That will mean you will get all your thyroid hormone replacement and all other drugs free of charge for the rest of your life. You should write to your GP and list all of your symptoms and signs. Take your basal temperature for 4 or 5 days before you get out of bed in a morning and list these results in your letter. Normal is 98.6 degrees F. if yours is 97.8 (and it could be much less) - then this shows your metabolism is not functioning as it should and your thermostat is running too slow. Ask for a FULL thyroid function test which includes TSH, Free 4 and Free T3. Ask for the letter to be placed into your medical notes - this usually makes the GP respect your wishes. What were the results of your last thyroid function tests? give us the figure and the reference range for each test done. Some doctors don't like their patients interfering by wanting such things as their test results - so if she asks why you want them, tell her that you are keeping a medical diary and need to know what is happening and if there is a pattern. Blood results are yours by entitlement. doctors cannot withhold these. Luv - Sheila Please can anybody tell me about gettng free prescriptions. I have Graves Disease but since naively agreeing to taking Carbimazole and unwittngly giving permission for an endo to knock out my thyroid function, I suffer from hypo symptoms including fatigue, chronic pains in feet, back and wrists and have not had a period for god knows how long. I have a mixture of symptoms now my physical healh has never been the same. I wonder whether I would be able to get free presciptions. I am due for another blood test (the last one showing low thyoid function) and have been reading with interest the reference ranges used in the UK in comparison to Germany and the US. I am not sure why my GP seems so reluctant to give me my results. Thanks for any advice Lorna No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Hi Lorna Even though a doctor might request a Free T3 test, it is the laboratories who have taken it upon themselves to refuse to do this if the TSH and Free T4 are within the reference range. Having said that - your Free T4 is FAR too low being right at the bottom of the range - it should be in the upper third of the reference range for you to feel good. I cannot see your TSH result, can you let me know what that was. If they didn't give that to you, ring them again and ask for it. Your ferritin is VERY low and your GP should prescribe you some form of elemental iron such as Ferrous Sulphate or Glutomate 200mgs with food. You should also take high doses of vitamin C 4/5000 to stop constipation whilst taking iron. Your ferritin level should be somewhere in the region of 70 to 90. This could be one reason you feel so bad. If your ferritin (stored iron) is not increased and keeps getting used up, next thing is you will become anaemic as your stored iron is used up. Tell your GP that you are aware that reference ranges are there so that you can see whether you are at the bottom, middle or the top of the range - where the results lie is very important. You do NOT have to be referred to the hospital your GP refers you to, you can be referred to any endocrinologist who can take you on his book, even if he is outside of your area. Speak to your GP about this. Your chronic pain is probably caused through the fibromyalgia brought on because your tissues are not getting the T3 it needs. Your mainly inactive thyroxine (T4) needs to convert to the active T3 through the liver, kidneys and other thyroid hormone receptors. You may not be doing this. Also, low ferritin, vitamin D3 (not sure whether you were tested for D2 or D3) magnesium, zinc and copper may also be a cause for such a lack of conversion. Get the FT3 test done privately if the NHS refuse to do it and take the result with you when you have decided who you should like to see. This can be done through Genova Diagnostics or lab 21. Guest guest
Hi Lorna, sorry forgot to change format! The key to free prescriptions is a diagnosis of myxodema- hypothyroidism- which is the result of knocking your thyroid out. I think that your doc is reluctant to do this. You are entitled to your results by law so don’t be afraid to ask for then- don’t forget the reference range. Guest guest
As I understand, this is only if they aren't told about the Medicaid (Medicare has similar situations, but less common). Otherwise they risk major fines and/or prison. That's because the regulations assume the gov't pays and pays adequately, which is, of course defined by the regulation. Any other payment is supplemental and, therefore, fraud. This is basically another price control system with unintended consequences. For those that already have one (just one is all it takes) Medicaid patient, they must accept Medicaid payment (only, of course) for others. That's why so many don't take Medicaid at all (Medicare situation similar, but not as bad). From a family full of MD's. > > Very interesting article... > I don't understand why a NON-Medicaid provider couldn't/wouldn't accept cash...this makes no sense... > I cannot believe that Wisconsin or anywhere else for that matter would write their Medicaid plan in such a way as to restrict Medicaid recipients from private paying...that sounds illegal to me... > Ellen > Ellen Garber Bronfeld > egskb@... > (unknown) > > > I encountered this Wisc story because my DH likes to keep track of where he grew up. > > Single dad tries to get dental care for his 14-year-old. No, not here, b/c he's on the state equivalent of Medicaid. Guest guest
hey everyone just got in from work and how true the fickle finger of fate message Angelo. On Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 11:47 PM, Angelo <tommybad238@...> wrote: f it were actually true that I contracted Hep C back in 1972 as he was suggesting - then how was it my son who was not born until 1979 not have it and besides why wasn't I dead, due to my alcoholism?? I'm curious as to why you could not answere these questions yourself in light of seeing your responses on this forum I thought they would be easy for you. JUst because one has hep c it does not mean your child will definitly get it. All my friends who had hep c and had children none of them have it. Also, about your alcoholism. This virus is very slow going or sometimes fast. People who had it and never drank may progress to chirosis a stage every two years versus every 10. And someone who continues to drink may develope a stage of chiroses in 10 years. Everyones diease progresses differently. It only takes one use of a shared straw, dollor bill or syringe to get hep c. You may share these items for years and never get it. By all rights I should have aids from sharing and having sex for years with junkies who have but I don't. Just hep c.
