Guest guest
I am not sure if this occurred because my drive was pretty low. In short, our sex life diminished quite a bit. Guest guest
, we started using SN last year amongst some anxiety from HVs. However the SN are now well accepted members of a few teams. They underwent an academic module at university as an introduction to primary care and some in house training in dev, assessment, audiology, squint detection, record keeping, accountability, child protection, breastfeeding etc. They do core dev. assessment, support visits for breastfeeders, follow up visits for multiple births, weaning talks, help with audiology, clinics etc. 2 are now being sponsored to do HV training next year which is satisfying in career development terms. We are still recruiting SN and also NN and are beginning to see the advantages of a rich skill mix complemented by clerical support. good luck with your developments. Alison (unknown) Hello, My name is Blakemore. I am a HV in Feltham, Middx. We have busy caseloads, high child protection numbers and staff vacancies. I have been appointed one day a week to do 'practice development' Some of us are very keen to change practice but we seem to be on a treadmill of 'crisis contacts' with not much opportunity for preventative work. We have excellent nursery nurses and are now considering the role of staff nurses. I am very keen to hear how staff nurses are being used within a HV team and if anyone has changed how they run baby clinics Look forward to your response _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. Guest guest
This is how I put it in a speech I made: " Public Health will say that these vaccines must be mandatory or these diseases will spread. But if the vaccines work, anyone choosing them will be protected. If they don’t prevent the spread of the disease to the vaccinated, what is the point? It hardly seems right that those who don’t want to be vaccinated should be required to be vaccinated, because vaccines don’t always work. I post on baby center and since we all have 15 mo olds vaccines have been a topic a lot lately I didn't say anything for a long while but when they started saying people who don't vaccinate or irresponsible and senseless. and that ER had a show about vaccines--and the reactions their babies were having to shots I felt I could say something. I posted my position in a nutshell and said this is why I don't vaccinate my son. Well of course you can imagine the response. I guess I don't have as thick of skin as I thought I did. One mom said she doesn't care if vaccines are made out of the most vial stuff out of a gas station bathroom she would give them to her child to keep them safe. Then of course I was arrogant to think I knew more than the Drs and I must have been reading on the internet The biggest thing that I always hear is that you are endangering my child by your not vaccinating and I wonder how you respond to that? I mean, if they work, then anything the unvaccinated child " carries " shouldn't affect your child, because they've been vaccinated against it, right? " They usually, when I ask them to their face, give me a puzzled look, and then go, " Oh, well, yeah, I can see your point....end of discussion. Kim (unknown) > well I did it now. Guest guest
Tell them that they are endangering their child for what they are willing to inject into your child. Then refuse to argue with them as long as they are willing to remain ignorant. Remaining ignorant is not even accepting that you *might* be right. Guest guest
what ignorance! how can you endanger their child if they believe that vaxing is so safe and necessary???? tell them in no uncertain terms that you should be the one worried, since your child is not vaxxed and why are they seeing an unvaxed child as a threat!!!! can you post this website? i'd sure like to post there. :-) claudia --- Malissa Chapin <chapins61198@...> wrote: > The biggest thing that I always hear is that you are > endangering my child by > your not vaccinating and I wonder how you respond to > that? > > > Malissa > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: > http://mobile.msn.com > > ===== our all new vaccination discussion forum is up!http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/wiseone/index2.htm home page @ http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/wiseone/index.htm It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. -- Antoine de Saint-Exupery, The Little Prince __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Sara, Yes, that was good. I remembered that I've also said something like, " Well, you know, we used to vaccinate our son, until we almost lost him. We totally believed in vaccination until we did our own research....so, how much research have YOU done? " They will usually reply they haven't done any research on the negative side of vaccination....either the conversation goes flat after that, or we continue. It's interesting, though....I had to take into the ER for possible stitches (we didn't do), and I was asked by the attending physician if was up-to-date on his vaccinations. I told him in no uncertain terms (I was in a bad mood, anyway)...that we weren't even going to go there. I told him very briefly about 's reactions as an infant and what happened, and that we no longer vaccinate. He didn't say another word...but a male nurse overheard my conversation with this physician outside of the office. As I was leaving with , he stopped me and asked me point blank what I felt about vaccines, as he'd been having more and more questions about them. So we had a nice little conversation right there in the ER about vaccines; the doctor was standing near us and I could tell he was fuming, but he didn't say a word. You could've heard a pin drop in that ER, though. I figure if I can at least plant a few seeds along the way, in any way I can, I will. Kim (unknown) > > > > well I did it now. Guest guest
The biggest thing that I always hear is that you are endangering my child by your not vaccinating and I wonder how you respond to that? Malissa I would ask them 'Who says?' Then when they say 'The experts', blast them with the history of what experts have given us.....thalidomide, disease resistant anti-biotics, mammograms, flouride, mad cow disease, lead poisoning, pinks disease, polio, the list is endless. Oh and don't forget the medical induced deaths due to negligence, again committed by experts. These 'experts' are just little puppet toady's that can't think for themselves, cause if they did, they'd be out of a job. Sorry to rant, but you don't have to be an expert to examine the facts on what is happening in California at the moment. I would tell these people to not be so lazy and go LOOK FOR THEMSELVES!!!!!!!! Guest guest
terr--- the first house Ken & I bought was only about 800 sq ft--very small rooms..but when my Mom moved up here in '94 we had to get a bigger place as she couldn't move around too well with her walker & I was always afraid she'd fall & hit her head on woodstove or?? So the house we bought(there were only 2 vacant & available properties around here @ that time + we needed acreage for my horse(by this time I was down to just the one horse- had had 5) So when Mom had to move into care center(due to all of the strokes she'd had-hospital would'nt let her come home) I thought we'd move out of this house- Mom was gone & I had sold the last horse. This house is almost 100 sq ft & has just over 5 ac. on a mountainside......but Mom & the horse have both been gone for over 6 years now & we're still here.... It's in a very ideal area..not any noisy neighbors(anymore) Ken bitches & moans about the payments & being so far from most of his jobs(union)....but in truth he loves it here....neither one of us could stand living in the metro area.......horns blasting--guns being shot--murders--sirens going off all hours of the night!! He always says we've got this place set up just right. the stairs can be a hassle at times- when I'm not feeling too well....but @ those times I stay downstairs & he brings me my food & meds(when he's home) most of the time I can manage & so far I haven't fallen down the stairs<g> + they can be good exercise!! Also he just bought that new dishwasher for me & bought a 3 year warranty on it..so I guess we won't be moving any time soon!! arlene Terry Long wrote: > Arlene, We sold our home a little over three years > ago, Mom's house was 1550 Sq foot & we added 160 Sq > foot & was built in 1978.
