I had spoken to Amy a couple of times last year regarding pregnancy and SMA and

she was always so helpful and supportive.  My deepest sympathies go to her

husband and children.  She will be greatly missed....

My prayers go out to Amy and her family. I am a mother of a 16yr old daughter

with sma type 2. I agree this is all bullshit, when my daughter was first

diagnosed, the MDA doctor said, " That we are so close to a cure, that if someone

was to pick a time to get sma, its now. " Okay well its 15yrs later and still

nothing..... We stopped the MDA clinic....to me it was all bullshit. May I ask

how old Amy was and her children? I didnt know her, but I keep updated with this

website, and from what I read, she had all her ducks in a row.. I will miss her

entries..... .

Oh yeah.... In an MDA conf in Oct 1990 the hard sell was " The cure is now! " line

was drilled into us and crammed down our throats.

I'm a firm believer that hope counts but when drs were at the microphone telling

everybody " Don't catch a cold cause we need all of you people we can get with

our new research studies " .... that just seemed wrong.

I think a life lived to the fullest is better no matter what length of time.

Yes yeast die off is common when you give anti fungals. Our friend raves about

activated charcoal to absorb the yeast. We haven't tried it, but we hear good

things about it.

Can anyone share their experience with treating their child for yeast. Ours was

exacerbated by oral chelation DMSA. Do you see yeast die off reactions?

Hello,

My son's name is Dylan and he's 12 (diagnosed w/ Aspergers last year). I was in a pretty unhealthy relationship from the time Dylan was 4-9 and my boyfriend at the time also didn't understand Dylan. He () thought he was just trying to get away with stuff or act like that on purpose. I did what you did and tried to keep the two of them apart as much as possible. My parents lived in the same town as us and they would take him overnight a few times a week. The boyfriend was the father of my daughter so it complicated things just a bit. I felt like I was constantly having to choose between my kids and it SUCKED. Fortunately I had an alternate place for Dylan to go sometimes and that helped a whole lot. We finally broke up for good a few years ago and amazingly now, understands Dylan a lot better and they have a decent relationship. I

felt like Dylan became the scapegoat for our unhealthy relationship. His behavior did kind of stick out like a sore thumb so it was easy to blame, but our true problems were lack of communication, substance abuse, and low self-esteem. Not that parenting Dylan wasn't stressful when he was younger, but would chalk it up to him being a behavior problem b/c of his poor character and not see a good portion of it was b/c of a neurological issue.

So the first thing I would do would be to get yourself and your husband in couples therapy pronto. It sounds like you're maybe getting therapy for the family, but I'd make sure the two of you had some time specifically for the both of you too. When we did this for awhile, it helped. didn't want to go anymore after a couple of months though and things spiraled downwards rapidly. If your husband objects, get some individual counseling. I did this and she not only helped me with my own issues but she also taught me effective ways of parenting my son and that helped tremendously. I used to feel so helpless when it came to being his mom, like I was just a victim to however he was acting, but the therapy helped me feel empowered with solutions.

Hi My name is Zapalac and I am new to the group. My son is 13 and was just diagnosed with AS and everything else that comes along with it. I really need someone to talk to that knows what to do and how to handle it. My husband doesn't understand or should I say it doesn't want to. He thinks that my son is just being like this to irritate him. He thinks after one therapy session he should know better. They are just going at with each other in front of our other 2 children and I had to remove my son and I from the situation so there would not be any more problems. But like most AS children they are out of there comfort zone so they don't know how to act. I don't know how to get my husband to understand. We have only gone to one session but I fell like it is not fair for the other 2 children (4 and 2) for there time to be ruined. I feel helpless. Can you help me please.Thank

you,

Hey, Sharon, that's the part I forgot after 30 years - B6. And I have the Mauve

Factor, which is why he asked to " see of your finger nails. " Thanks for

reminding me. All my medical records were lost when we had a cat with bladder

cancer (ugh!) and by that time, Brain Bio was gone so they couldn't be

recovered. Amazing what one can dredge up after so many years. Guess I'll have

to get Dr. Carl's book out and reread it. Thanks for the reminder.

Bright blessings to all!

You are most welcome.

I just have to ask if, by any chance, if either you or some relatives originally

lived in the Phila suburbs?

No. No one knows exactly what triggers or suppresses the antibodies,

although there are plenty of anecdotal candidates, selenium to suppress,

for example. They seem to be quite independent of medications, although

there are a number of studies that suggest megadose iodine is a trigger.

Dunno about sinus problems with detox, but we get sinusitis easily in

my crew. Using a sinus rinse (Neti pot is the easiest) with

xylitol/salt/iodine/tea tree oil/oregano oil kills the fungus or

whatever that tends to take up residence there. I pretty much have to

do that once a week. But if I do, everything is fine.

iodine. I did 50 mg for 3 months and now I've been in the process of reducing

the dose.

Which version of the program are you using? It could be a simple glitch caused by a hair or finger print on the loading disk. Clean your Clasp 32 master program disk and reinstall the program. If it is this then the button should start to work.

First you are a Family...right...so that when one part needs fixing ...you all go. Now you other two children are small...can you get a sitter for them..do you have family near by that you can leave them with. It is necessary in order to help your AS child. Maybe your husband needs to go to therapy by himself....he may need time to accept this dx.

I had (still have somewhat) this problem with my husband. It delayed megetting my son dx'ed and treated for almost a year. I really wish Ihadn't let him. But, what finally started working is to spoon-feed himsmall amounts of info. My husband only new about autism from the movie'Rain Man', so that's where his perspective was coming from. It tooksome time and slow education, like pointing out something my son didthat really frustrated him and being able to tell him that was anexample of an AS behavior I had just read about in the book I wasreading.. My DH did not/has not taken it upon himself to learn more, itall has to come through me. He first agreed that there was 'something'wrong with , then moved on to accepting that needed help with'some' things. He finally accepted the HFA dx after meeting with theschool and listening to the psychologist at the IEP meeting. I had toset that up all myself, take off of work to drive everywhere

heneeded to be, the evals, the meetings...Point is, do what you feel youneed to do, and don't let your DH stop you. It is often this way, wherethe mommy has to do all the work. Find out what your DH needs as far aslearning/understa nding what is going on. He may still be in a state ofgrieving as well and is just not ready to come to terms. There are agreat many books available - the Autism Sourcebook and Autism SpectrumDisorders talks a lot about grieving/coping/ healing. My DH would neversit down and actually read the books, again, I had to spoon-feed him. They also helped me to understand more his actions/non actions. I dothink that he still secretly thinks this is just temporary, that our sonwill 'outgrow' it, so I'm working on that now...Hope this helps.TJ>> Hi My name is Zapalac and I am new to the group. Good afternoon All,

I was wondering if anyone has a template letter that I can use to give my child's daycare provider for Massachusetts. My son is supposed to start a program on Monday and I have inform the provider that he has not been vaccinated. She stated that I will need to provider a letter explaining why. I know that Mass does allow for religious or medical exemptions. I just not sure how I should approach writing the letter.

Can anyone help me out?

Hi , You can search the web for information on this condition, of

course there

are differesnt types> Here is one I found_ What is osteochondroma?

Also called osteocartilaginous exostoses, osteochondroma is an overgrowth

of cartilage and bone near the end of the bone near the growth plate. This

type of overgrowth can occur in any bone where cartilage eventually forms

bone. Most commonly, it affects the long bones in the leg, the pelvis, or

scapula (shoulder blade).Osteochondroma is the most common benign

(non-cancerous)

bone growth. The lesion usually occurs during skeletal growth - between the

ages of 10 and 25 years. It affects males and females equally. What causes

I've not read the books, and didn't even realize it was a " Bragg " thing.

But, from time to time, I do use raw vinegar (with mother), and pink sea

salt, in my water. Seems I crave it for a while, then I get to a point

(typically a couple weeks) that I no longer want it. I like to trust my

body.

write the value of the goods on the outside of the package? I know that Afshin

i have a surgery box that people take home with them and they follow this little list of directions to purge the anesthesia from the body

works amazingly wonderful

i put an envelope in the box and people put a cash donation in it so that i can keep refilling the homeopathic remedies as they run out
