oooohh I forgot one more thing. I know you have to run for the

military...but I wanted to add that in order to be kind to your

knees.....please, please make sure you are replacing your running shoes

OFTEN..... Even though they may still look new they arent very shock

absorbant after a hundred runs. You may not have injured your knee running,

but not taking the proper precautions with running can make you knees more

injury prone...even when doing other things.

Thanks to everyone for their input...

I'm really bummed about this whole skim milk-myoplex thing!!! I'm so mad at

myself! No wonder I haven't lost that much weight! Do you think now that I'm

not doing that anymore my body will kick back into gear!? I hope so. I don't

wanna think that this whole time I've been doing this, without cheating,

just in vain. UGH! I just have to get over my frustration now.

Anyway, for the first time since I started this I'm really discouraged. Call

me perfectionist or whatever, but I am.... please help!!!

Hi - My twins are Rudy (ds) & who are 13. Rudy still has

reflux and the best advice I can give you is to feed him slowly and break up

the feeding. I have found that my Rudman has an eating disorder that is

common in ds. He does not have the sensation of fullness which is most

noticed in his drinking. I have to really watch him so he does not over do

it or he will certainly reflux. He also does it if he gets too active after

eating or drinking. Another trigger is if he gets too upset. I dont know if

this will help. Good luck!

, reflux is the contents in the stomach, coming back up to the

esophagus, which of course their not suppose to. The esophagus does not

have the same type of lining that the stomach has, therefore constant

reflux could cause some kind of damage to the esophagus, Having said

that I think the reflux seen in our children could be caused by a

combination of low muscle tone {there is sphincter at the end of the

esophagus just before in enters into the stomach, the sphincter serves

to keep the contents down in the stomach from entering back up into the

esophagus}due to the low tone, that sphincter might not be " tight "

enough to do the job right.

My baby Tara{16 mos} has mild reflux where after a meal, she will spit

up a little while she is on the floor playing, not all the time, but at

least once a day. We are taking a wait and see approach to this as she

is getting very active lately, pulling up to stand, climbing stairs,

starting to cruz the coffee table, and keeping up with her 3 other sibs!

Guess your best bet is to check things out with your Ped and see what

she/he thinks? Also check out DR.Len Leshin's site, it has great info on

this topic.........now I can't remember exactly his address, I'll have

to look it up and I'll post it on here! :) Good-luck!

Gail.......Bobby 6 1/2, Jillian 4, and Tara{Ds} 16 months

PS...I'm an X-ray technologist for the last 20+ years and have done

thousands of G.I series so I know the anatomy well! PLus I have my OWN

bout of reflux{heartburn} myself!

You are doing really well in your nutrition and for that I commend you. I

also admire you for choosing a style of nutrition and striving to achieve

your goals.

You are going to lose weight no matter what if you are eating like this and

exercising properly. But, a suggestion might be (assuming you are using

regular Myoplex) to switch to Myoplex Deluxe, which also has added

supplements for fat burning and muscle gain unlike the other Myoplex blends.

And most obviously, increase your portion size, and eat slower. Perhaps drink

hot tea with your bigger meals to help you digest more food faster to help

with the amount you want to eat. Am I making any sense?

yet to be able to even hit 2000 in the last 6 weeks on BFL. Here is

what I ate today:

7:30 Myoplex w/ yogurt = 350 Cals

10:30 Chicken breast and Apple = Approx 200 cals

1:00 Labrada Bar and yogurt = 370 cals

4:00 Myoplex w/ banana = approx 380 cals

6:30 Egg Beaters w/ chicken and fat free mozzarella, 2 slices whole

grain bread = approx 260 cals

9:00 Myoplex w/ Banana and yogurt = approx 450 cals

Total for day = approx 2010 (well under my BMR)

Any ideas? (I'm stuffed!!)

Thanks!

,

Makes sense. I think what I am really asking though is, since I have

seen such great results in 6 weeks, should I continue as I have, or

is staying above BMR that crucial that I need to increase my caloric

intake? Thanks!

By the way, saw your pictures. One word, outstanding!

Stacie,

There isn't any difference between an AICD and an ICD. The only

difference is that one has the word " automatic " in front of " implantable

cardioverter defibrillator and one doesn't. They are the same devices though.

Stacie, to my knowledge there is no diference. AICD, the A stands for

automatic. They, us whoever just leaves it off and says ICD. Implanted

cardiac defebrillator.

Love ya,

Sue

Stacie,

As said, there is no difference between AICD and ICD.

It is my understanding that the acronym, AICD was patented by CPI, now the Guidant corporation. CPI developed, patented, and sold the first implantable defibrillator (if memory serves me correctly it was released in 1985.)

CPI also patented the term AICD (automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator). When other companies (Medtronic, Ventritex, Telectronics, Biotronix, & Intermedics) introduced implantable defibrillators into the marketplace, they could not use the term AICD so they just dropped the automatic part and used ICD. Nothing like a bit of defib trivia - do you know the story of Dr. Mirowski, the man credited with the development of the ICD?

Okay here is my new initials they have applied to my device (medtronics) I

have a IPCD. I started with an AICD then moved on to my ICD and now (2open

hearts last Oct.) sport an IPCD. No, to my body's discomfort the only

difference is size and a pacemaker. Love, Jeannie

LOL Donna,

Wasn't so bad! :-) Seth was doing so many new sounds and actions that I

really did enjoy watching him. They are all gone today, but it was cool last

night. Now, the dangerous things like breaking the candle dishes right over

his head and eating the outlet cover off the wall, well, thank God for those

Guardian Angels huh? LOL No school today for Seth and even if there were,

he's too tired! LOL I gave up first. Took a blanket and pillow at 5:30 AM

and laid down on the floor in front of the gate. Hope you had a good day

with Allie!
