Guest guest
-am so thankful they are going to make transportation available to you-for me it is so important to know i can get out. I do not drive either so rely on the public bus system here. I am sorry you had that encounter with the Dr. that you did-so discounting. I had the same problem for 18 years until I moved from the small farm comunity I was in and came to the city. I could hardly believe when they really cared here and found out what was wrong. take gentle care. carol On Sat, 27 Jul 2002 23:19:27 -0400 " Darkbeing " <Darkbeing@...> writes: > > well in september i finly be geting shutle service out my way so i > be able > ot get out of the house in my wheel chair i do nto own a van i whish > i did > ihave a few frinds that tryed to get one donated to me through a > few > companys out her they were willing till they found out i was a man > and not a > child to me i can not figure out the diference a child can not drive > and i > am a man with a child that to do anything with him i would kneed a > van just > like a child would kneed a van if he was to do anything with his dad > so i > thought that was kind of crule but i can not do a thing about it i > just wate > till iget servace this way i at least be able to get out some times > to go > into the city latly i been ill in bed 24/7 but i been trying ot get > up > anyway of late so dam tiring to do so i went a seen a new doc > another morone > for a docter he told me there was not a thing wrong with me and all > my pain > was in my head withouhg evan exzaming me i could have punched him in > the > head i was so dam mad i told my regler doc about the viset and he is > who > hapends to employ this new speclest well the new doc no longer has a > job i > was not hte only one to complane but i was the last i put the clinch > on my > doc deciding to fire him cuse my doc knowes me very well i do nto > evna go to > the doc when i ma sick i have to realy be felling very ill befor i > go and at > that i still od nto like going and my doc knows that so that he will > be gone > is a bit of brighting ot my day was a jerk of a docter that spelest > was god > they think there gods it seems with one look they know everthing o > well i > just thought i say hello to all and thank you for the bird web sight > i did > check it out and am still looking at birds so fare cna nto do much > else but > as long as we keep bussy or try the pain and other problems i have > seem ot > sleep to the back for a little bit beter then never doing it right > take care > all > > robert AKA Darkbieng > > > ~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~ > The Being Sick Community > > > Message Archives and Digest Attachment Pictures:- > /messages > > Chat:- Scheduled Daily Chats at > /chat > > Bookmarks:- > Add a website URL you have found useful. > /links > > Personal Complaints or problems:- > Please contact a moderator > email: -owner > > Subscription Details:- > 1) Individual email - means that every email sent to the list you > receive. > 2) Daily Digest - sends you 25 messages in one single email for you > to browse. Guest guest
Hey, ! So nice to hear from you again. I was getting worried. It will be so nice to get out, you'll feel like a new guy. Just dont do too much, like a teeenager with a new car......and you dont have to buy the gas or oil or insurance, and you wont have to deal with it when it breaks down either. September is not very far away, hang in there. Sorry you had to deal with a jerk dr, but glad in a way- maybe you saved someone, you know? I took my son to a very good dr today, she was great. How lucky can you get? After we got his prescriptions filled & home I noted they had only given me 1/2 of what she wanted him on. They said my ins co would not allow it! They didnt tell me, just did what the ins co said! When these are gone I can ask for a refill........Grrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His glands were so swollen he looks like he has a goiter, and some paper pusher gets to decide what, and how much medicine he gets, no matter what the dr orders? I'm about to go " Lawanda " on em. Yeah, lifes not fair. Lets raise hell. As soon as I find some energy. We have a lot of hummingbirds now, I think the Rufous just got here recently. They are very agressive. There is a red one that buzzes my husbands head- like dive bombing him- when he sits down with me on the swing. There is a feeder right there, HIS. I guess he is used to me, or doesnt consider me a threat. Or, more likely, he watched me fill the feeders. He buzzed me once last week when I was cutting some of his favorite flowers, for my granddaughter, but since he has been almost friendly. I could watch them for hours. Hope you get some good days soon. Say hi once in a while, k? Guest guest
Hi Pheonix, and welcome back to the club. What you eat can effect your hunger almost as much as how much you eat. Do you use an EFA supplement? Many have said that something like Udo's or Barlean, or just Flax oil, helps them feel satisfied all day. Do you use an EFA supplement? Many have said that something > like Udo's or Barlean, or just Flax oil, helps them feel satisfied > all day. > > > Alys Hi Phoenix-- I was thinking the same thing as Alys on your question of hunger. If your dietary fat levels are high enough, and you're sure you're eating big enough portions, then the next thing I'd look at are what kind of carbs you're choosing. I find that choosing complex carbs that really stick to me keep my hunger levels low. For example, my post-workout meal would have a high glycemic carb, like a banana or occasionally a piece of bread. Then for most of my other meals, I will choose carbs like beans, brown rice, oatmeal that are lower on the glycemic scale and that take a long time to break down, therefore keeping you satisfied for a longer period of time. I'm not knocking the value of fruit, as I chose it two or three times a day for my BFL challenges, I'm just saying that sometimes it's not as satisfying as more complex carbs. It took me a LONG time to want to eat beans with my chicken instead of an apple, but I have loads more energy when I do. Sometimes it's all a matter of looking at your food as true fuel, hard to do though. Also, are you using any meal replacements like shakes and bars? Those do not fill me up at all! I'd look at that as a factor in your hunger as well. And lastly, if everything is in check, you can always add more veggies and fiber to your diet. This stuff keeps you satisfied because it takes a while to break down in your body. As I like to say, never underestimate the power of fiber! Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi Phoenix - Here's to self-discipline and determination! You are not alone in feeling hungry. I am nearing my goal weight now too and feel much more hungry than I used to 73 pounds ago! It seems illogical as there is not as much of me to fuel! But I am just thankful for that hungry feeling and know that my metabolism is now roaring. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Oh, and by the way, I ran out of flax oil a week ago and keep forgetting to pick some up. I do notice I feel much less hungry when I take that. Park Hello all Hi everyone, Having suddenly posted a reply on the board out of nowhere, I thought I'd better say Hi. I was a member of this board a long time ago under the name Zyth2002. Something unfunky happened to that account though. It got sucked into some password netherworld and lost forever. So, here I am, back again under a new, prettier name , and beginning another challenge. I completed one challenge successfully last year (Sept - Nov 2001). So now, one whole year on, I've decided to do something about those last pounds. I've been making excuse after excuse all year, and while I've done enough to maintain (and actually lose a couple more pounds) I'm tired of fluffing around. So, here are my starting stats... Height: 5'7 " Weight: 147 Chest: 37.5 " Waist: 30.5 " (sigh) Belly Button: 34 " Hip: 37.5 " Thigh: 23.75 " Calf: 14.75 " BF (according to biofitness.com) = 23% - seems lower than it should be, but then, I'm quite self-critical. I do have one question. I've seen lots of ladies on this board saying that they don't know how they can eat all this food. Does anyone have the other problem? I eat six times a day (and I've done the micromanagement thing temporarily, so I'm pretty sure I've got my portions right) and I've spent the whole week so far hungry. It's driving me nuts and I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me. I'm sure I didn't have this problem last time. Wish me luck... no, wish me self-discipline and determination. That would be more useful. Pheonix
Guest guest
I'm hungry quite often. I never have a problem eating all my food. I finally switched up my carbs to less processed carbs and added more veggies and salads to my meals and I find I'm not hungry ALL the time anymore. Guest guest
Thanks Alys and Maggie. You both make good points. It's amazing what you forget in a few months. I did used to take Flax Oil at least twice a day. And I know I've been eating too much bread and not enough oatmeal/rice etc. That's probably making all the difference. I'm at the end of week one now (friday night here). So i'll have my freeday tomorrow and implement some changes for next week that will hopefully prevent me from being a raving fridge-scavenger again!
