You fit right in with this group. I'm aiming for losing around 105 right

now, myself.

I started Nov. 2000, lost 46 by March 2001, gained 10 back.

Some of us don't agree with 's philosphy of doing it all at once.

Some of us *need* to take those baby steps. You're doing good starting with

the water - we all need more water than we think, especially carrying around

these extra hundred or so pounds on our bones. We have (had?) a few Pepsi

addicts here and for them it's very hard to quit the stuff, but they try

hard.

Baby steps.

I have a treadmill that doesn't get used as much as it should, and I have an

exercycle on my wish list, maybe next Christmas. I had one for years but

sold it when we moved from NJ to FL. When we moved *back* to NJ hubby let me

finally get the treadmill I'd been wishing for for years, mostly because we

finally had an apartment big enough to fit it. We still never replaced the

sofa we sold when we moved so there's still plenty of room for an exercycle.

:)

>>Anyhow sorry this is soo long..

Long is good. I don't think anyone minds long. You should see the length of

some of *my* posts. :)

intro

Hi..

I joined this group a few days ago.. My name is ..

Im 27 have 2 girls ages almost 8 and 4. I want to lose

about 100-125 lbs.. I have alot of things I need to

get done this year.. They arent really resolutions

just things i want to achieve. Last year i started in

February and by July lost about 50-60 lbs.. but i seem

to have put most of it back on.. I am ready to get

this weight off of me for good.. Last year I think my

downfall was i tried to do to many things at once and

got resentful.. Normally I dont drink much water.. and

all i was drinking was water eating lean cuisines and

trying to exercise 30-45 mins a day.. now normally

those things can be good but when u go from doing none

of that to doing it all at once all the time.. It was

very hard.. So this is my plan.. right now im going to

just worry about drinking all my water and staying

away from soda's. Once I do that then I will work on

my meals and foods and then do the exercise. Im also

thinking of trying out that ab energizer has anyone

seen those on tv?? Anyhow sorry this is soo long..

Thanks for listening :)

I can use D or in MA whichever is easier for

you..

Ive been doing ok drinking my water.. I did really

good the first day.. and drank some yesterday.. Im

working on drinking my water for today now.. I read

somewhere that u are supposed to drink half your

weight in ounces of water.. so if i weighed 250 then i

would drink 125 oz of water.. I dont think i can drink

that much.. LOL Ive going to work on 72 oz for now..

then up to 96 and maybe more after that..

Im also working on a plan of what to eat now.. Ive

been off the wagon so long just buying regular foods i

need to get back on track on the healthy stuff.. what

are some foods that everyone else eats?? I might stick

to the lean cuisines or healthy choice meals for a few

weeks for atleast supper that helps me with the

portion size then when i prepare my food i get a

better idea of how much and by then my stomach will be

used to eater a smaller portion anyhow..

(D or in MA lol )

Hi Sheri,

We live in Hawaii (Ohau to be exact...and it stinks here, but only for 3-4 more

years). The only other exemption they accept is religious, but I don't know

what to put down on the form if it comes to that. And I don't know what

religions say no to vaccines except Christian Scientist. But my hubby doesn't

want to lie saying we are, which I don't want to either. We are just straight

Christians, nothing else. We don't believe in vaccines now that we are informed

about them, but its only partly religious, and more philos. more than anything.

I just don't want to have to lie to get what we want. But honestly, sometimes I

feel that that would be the only way. This whole situation is even harder

because it is very hard to pull away from the medical community because our son

has cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, possibly recovering from his immune

deficiency, etc... . And I honestly fear that if we pull back and start telling

them no to all the appointments they keep making him, then they will report us

for child neglect or something. I have always made sure that and the

girls were well taken care of...even taking them in for sniffles and well babys,

etc..., but the doctors here are just plan awful. An example is is that 's

immune levels are maintaining a low normal right now and the ped. wants to send

him to allergy/immunology who wants to vaccinate him to see if he responds. We

don't want him touched and as far as his allergies, they can't do anything so

why go. I do however see it as necessary to have blood drawn every three months

to check and see if his levels are still ok for the next year or so (they have

to stick him monthly to flush his port anyway).

Another question I have is, if we religiously decline vaccines, but still let

them do surgery, IVIG infusions (immunoglobulins), botox in his legs for

spasticity, antibiotics for illnesses etc..., will they not call me on it saying

" why will you do these things and not vaccinate? " My only answer that I can

think of is, is that vaccines insult the bodys immune system challenging it to

react and build immunity which is against the teachings in the Bible (man is

made in Gods immage and is therefor perfect in its own way and to challenge that

would be sinful) but to accept medicines that would help the body heal itself is

different! Vaccines don't heal they prevent, which is disrupting the order in

which God has intended.

Gee, now that I sound like an idiot, what is your take?

P.S> How much on average does it cost to see a homeopath?

Is there any chance that daily megadoses of vitamin C would help you? Have

you tried it? I understand that daily MEGAdoses can actually cure rubella

vaccine-induced arthritis.

Hi Tanja! I'm new to this group as well and I can

tell you, you won't be dissappointed with the amount

of information you will get from it. Kathleen told me

about a web site where you can order books about

exemptions and they're only like $4, state specific of

course. It's thinktwice.com

Good luck on your research!

Welcome, Pam. I have two boys with Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome and one of them

also has CVID. You will find a wealth of information here! Everyone is so

friendly and helpful!

I'll attach our *story* below-- its long... feel free to delete!

Pattie

We thought was normal until he passed his 6 month mark. At six months he

had a severe reaction to his immunizations and he was not tested for anything.

We also had to switch pediatricians b/c our insurance changed.. we loved our ped

SOOOO much, but she was not on our new insurance. I had stopped nursing him at 6

months. From 6 months to 12 months he had a horrible cough/wheezing/congestion

thing going on-- he was put on antibiotics for ear infections and hte cough

would go away with it until a few days after he was off of them and then return.

At 7 months he had not gained any weight, then at 8 months no weight gain. My

first son had ALWAYS gained a pound or more a month, so this worried me,

but the new ped brished it off. By 9 months he sstill hadn;t gained any wieght.

The ped then said he woudl test him in a month if he had still not gained. He

was going to do Kidney and liver tests. Well 9 months came and went-- he never

tested a thing. He would tell us that some babies go 3 or 4 months with out

gaining weight. So we naively believed him. He did a CBC at 11 months that

showed neutropenia and had retested in 2 weeks. After we lefft his office

for a new ped, the first tests was *lost* the secodn test had an ANC of 2000

and he told us that was fine- a virus caused it. I knew enough to know

that it wasn;t fine. (I used to work in the medical field)

We decided it was time just to pay out of pocket and go into see our old ped. I

still remember that day. She was shocked when she saw and was angry the

other doctor did not run any tests. She ran blood tests, but the CBC was not

run at the lab b/c they had an *accident* -- his CO2 was low and he had other

things that were off. She called us at 8 pm that night and told us that she

though had CF, and he would have to be tested. She ended up being VERY

close with her initial impression. Her daughter's pediatrician took our

insurance, and she got us in to see him. He ran more tests, kidney function,

and ruled out Renal Tubular Acidosis. we went for a CF sweat test and it was

negative. Then he gave us a referral to a GI. The first visit to the GI, I was

floored b.c she told us we would wait one month to see if gained any weight

and had us speak to a dietician and social worker. We pumped so much food into

him and he still never gained. When we got back t see her, she ordered a spot

fecal fat and some blood work, CBC, antigliadin, and antireticulin (sp) and

antiendomesial antibodies tests to see if it was possible he had celiac. His 72

hour fecal fat showed significant malabsorption and that is a sign of celiac. I

had read hte medical textbooks and knew celiac was the next step. He had high

gliadin antibodies, so she decided to do an endoscopy to look around and do

biopsies and run the disaccarhidease test (tests to see if the brush cells are

secreting enzymes). On the day of the endoscopy she did a CBC, too. The

results of the endoscopy were normal. BUT his CBC came back with a low ANC (260

if I remember correctly) She walked into the room and told me that she thought

sean had something called Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (but could not spell it)

and we were to meet with the Hematologist that afternoon--she had already

scheduled the appoitnment. We saw the hematologist who scheduled us for a bone

marrow biopsy the following day to rule our leukemia and check his marrow. We

do not have that report, but we have all the others (sean had had 6 bone marrow

biopsies). At that time his marrow looked normal. We did full body x-rays and

sent blood up to Canada to have it tested. had a normal serum trypsinogen

(at that time Canada was not doing the isoamylase as part of their study).

Canada also thought that hte serum trypsinogen was the be all and end all of SDS

tests... and they told us probably did not have SDS. Our GI talked to Dr.

Durie who told her that he probably did not have it , but that he needed to be

watched VERY closely. We repeated the sweat chloride test and did a genetic test

for CF. Both showing he did not have CF. We had another GI involved and he did

2 pancreatic stimulation tests on in an attempt to definitively diagnose

him. We found out later that he had abnormal results on his stim test.

Meanwhile I was reading al of the medical articles I could get my hands on --

and found out that a normal serum trypsinogen didn;t mean he did not have SDS,

that even a normal pancreatic stimulation test sis not mean that he did not have

SDS. A person has to loose over 98% of thier pancreatic function before they

have it show up on the assay. backing up a bit-- when was 6 months old we

found out we were pregnant with ph... so by the time we got to this poitn,

ph was 10 months old and exhibiting the same symptoms. I told both GIs

about it-- I was told not to go on a wild goose chase, etc. I was perplexed

how they coudl be telling me they thought my one son had a GENETIC illness and

woudl not test ph for it. lost weight and we were thinking of tube

feeding. At this point the second GI we saw decided that was really fien--

we just were not feeding him enough, so we returned to GI numebr one. We had

also started seeing a new hematologist and had 2 abnormal bone marrow

biopsies . At first this new hematologist thought sean's neutropenia was no big

deal. Then he went from " its no big deal " to " He may be going into aplastic

anemia " My heart ahced and ached.

Meanwhile we forced our ped to do a CBC on ph because he was slipping off of

the growth chart. I told him that I would stop bugging him if it came back

normal. is ANC was 1600 and he was going to let us go. I made him refer us to

a hematologist and he has 1000 ANCs for MONTHS. The hematologist woudl not

order a 72 hour fecal fat to confirm the diagnosis and the GI was out of town.

got a new Job here in Danville (we were in San ) and we wanted to

get a firm diagnosis before moving so that we would not have this same fight

witht he docs when we moved here. Little did we know how wonderful our new

doctors would be! We finally ot in to see the GI and ph had 73%

malabsoprtion (it is supposed ot be less than 7%) and hte neutropenia-- he was

diagnosed. We tried to get the hematologist to do a bone marrow biopsy, but he

would not. He thought having and ANC of 1000 was no big deal. NONE of these

docs would read the medical articles I copied for them. An uncle works at s

Hopkins and had sent me a bunch and I had gotten several by ordering them. They

wouldn;t listen to the fact that the ANC in SDS didn;t matter-- all these kids

have the same risk of developing leukemia or aplastic anemia. Once we moved up

here... Canada did blood work on both boys and ph had an abnormal isoamylase

and a normal serum trypsinogen. THAT clinched the diagnosis for both boys. Now

Canada says they have SDS but they are not the *typical* SDS kids.

also got sick more often and had had low IgG levels in the past, but we

were told they were no big deal by the SA docs.... when we moved up here, our

doctors were upset he had not been tested further.. so we got anotehr work up--

is deficient in total IgG, subclass 1 (low in others) and defiecient in

IgM. We assume this is why sean gets sick more than ph with boht having SDS

and all.

The new Hem here did biopsies on the boys and they had increased blasts 10% for

Jospeh and 9% for . They have other things that indicate early

myelodysplastic syndrome, but I won;t vore you with those details. We have to

watch them carefully.... most SDS kids also have impaired neutrophil motility

(meaning they cannot move to the site of infection) and they do not function

properly. So even with decent ANCs, we have to worry about them. Thankfully

our new docs understand this. We had a ped here in town, but he was l;ousy, so

our hem referred us to a GREAT one in Winston-- all our docs are 1 1/2 hrs away.

We dont; have pediatric specialists here in town..

Nice to *meet* you!

Pattie

Intro

I am Mom to a beautiful daughter, who I almost lost due to vaccines.

When my Child was 2 months old, I took her in for a well baby visit. I was

wary of vaccines since my pregnancy, having carefully researched the risks

and benefits, and I had decided, at first, to vaccinate my child as little

as

possible.

I stood there in the Pediatricians office and told Sophie's doctor that I

only wanted to have 1 vaccine for the day. I explained that I was in no rush

to flood her body with vaccines and I was concerned for her safety.

Her doctor suddenly got very nasty with me.

" Well, the state of NJ has very specific recommendations and rules for

Vaccinations you know, This is here to help her! "

I calmly told her that I only wanted 1 vaccine for the day or I would leave.

" This is mandated by the state " , she snipped " If you don't have these shots,

I am well within my rights to call DYFS for medical neglect "

I was terrified, I was a new Mom with a tiny baby. Here I was being forced

into shots and being threatened with Child protective services.

I asked what she would be given and the doctor said " Not that much, we give

this to all infants at this age. "

A nurse walked in with 4 needles. Without a word she shot them into my

child's legs. " WAIT WAIT WAIT " I yelled as she just injected my daughter

" WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GIVE HER? CAN YOU WAIT A SECOND! "

" Calm down " , said the nurse " She just got her DPT, Prevnar, Hib/HepB "

I picked up my daughter, half naked and still screaming and ran out.

That afternoon, her health began to decline. She had been refusing to eat,

she could not focus her eyes or smile, her cooing stopped. I figured that

she

was just all screamed out.

That night I woke up to the most horrific thing a mother can think of. My

was

choking and gasping for air, she was bluish red, a thick clearish phlegm

kept

coming up our of her little throat.

I had no idea what to do...I kept patting her back and just praying and

crying while I held her.

I called the doctor and explained what was happening to her. A nurse

practitioner got on the phone and told me " You are just over reacting, she

probably just got a cold suddenly and your being hypersensitive " .

I fumed and slammed down the phone.

For weeks, Sophie lay in this semi-alert stage. She didn't have the strength

to feed properly, she wouldn't smile. She couldn't focus her eyes, and did

little more than squint her eyes in pain and lay in that state for hours on

end. This was not the child I knew. At 2 months, before the shot, my

daughter

would smile and laugh, she could bring her legs straight and try to stand on

my lap when I held her.

After the shot, her legs had 2 hard baseball sized black and blue lumps. She

could barely move them. She would have these fits of choking for weeks.

I called up the doctor many times to report what was going on, they REFUSED

to see her saying that this was just her personality and I was over reacting

to " simple coughs "

After 3 months of this horrible lifeless state, my daughter would slowly

regain more and more movement and consciousness. When she finally smiled

again, I promised myself and her that she would NEVER endure that horrible

pain again.

The doctors office was refusing to report her reaction to VAERS, or even to

write it down in her chart!!!!! I was furious, so I reported it myself.

I showed up at that Pediatricians office for her well baby visit, a few

months later with my still recovering daughter, the choking episodes, Thank

God, has stopped. I had a mission now

" She is now off her schedule for Vaccinations and needs to be caught up! Do

you know how many she's missed? " Said the Ped.

" You hold on right there, You almost KILLED my daughter with these shots. " I

went on to repeat all she had been through and I was once again threatened

with everything from rare diseases to having Child Protective services

called

on me "

The doctor went on to say that she " MAY have been allergic to the Pertusis

Vaccine " and she wanted to just " try it again and we'll see what happens,

Just one more shot " .

I told her NEVER Again. I picked up my baby, and walked out. I haven't gone

back to that terrible office.

I don't live in fear of disease, I don't live in fear of CPS. I do live in

fear of having to see my daughter in that horrible state ever again.

She is now, Thank God, a healthy bright strong toddler. She does however,

have some trouble drinking and eating but she will be fine. Her Motor Skills

are back and above normal now, She can talk very well for her age, she can

run, jump climb and flush her toys down the toilet, like any normal toddler.

I believe that " Just one more shot " would have killed her.

I will post my story to the list again, My newborn nephew was just injured

himself by vaccines. I tried my hardest to dissuade my sister for having him

shot up with those terrible poisons. She didn't listen, nor did she learn

from my terrible experience.

Her 2 month old son was given Polio/Hib/HepB/D/P/T all in one day. He was

screaming non stop for weeks on end, he had blood in his stool and was not

feeding properly. He was even too weak to cry for a time. Now the ped

believe

he has some heart damage, his was fine at birth and at other visits before

the vaxes. Then last week the doctor thinks he " should see a Pediatric

Cardiologist " .

History repeats itself once again.

By all means, please do. I want people to know exactly what can happen to

their children when they are injected with those poisons. If you need

further

Thanks for sharing ANdrea. Many here feel the same as you.

You can't go back, but you can go forward. You did the best you could -

really.

It takes a lot to stand up to the pediatricians of today.

Hi Carol! Welcome!

My name is nne, I'm 26, and I'm in Albany, NY (well, Cohoes, actually).

I've been soaping since December 2000, and I'm so addicted to it. :-) I do

melt-and-pour soap (no lye stuff!). My husband and I moved here from Indiana

shortly after our honeymoon (June 2000), and talk about a culture change!

hehe :-) Glad to " meet " you! Hope you like this list. I love it ~ these

women are great, like a family (I always say that to new people, because

it's true! hehe!).

>>Was at Olive Tree Soaps (after vacationing at the Fingerlakes region)<<

Cool! You know, Jeff and I are starting to do research on places to visit

for our second wedding anniversary this June ~ we are considering the Finger

Lakes. Is it a nice area? We thought that we could stay at a bed and

breakfast there, take winery tours, have picnics ~ what else is there to do

there?

>>and a new one using Moonlight Path f.o. - LOVE that scent.<<

So what does that smell like?

Take care,

~lisanne~

Intro

Just joined the list. Am located in the upper n.w. corner of PA and

do a lot of vacationing in NY. Was at Olive Tree Soaps (after

vacationing at the Fingerlakes region) and got to meet Kae in person.

Great putting faces w/voices!

Hope the gathering falls on a date that I have free. And hope it's

West of Rochester (closer to me!!). The PA gathering is waaay out

East and too far for me to travel in this weather.

Started soaping about 5 years ago and needed to sell, so opened a

business 4 years ago. One family can only use so much soap and

there's always a new recipe/f.o. that I hafta have.

I just made a new soap with honey and goatsmilk that turned out

fabulous and a new one using Moonlight Path f.o. - LOVE that scent.

Also, just got my order from Olive Tree to start stockpiling some

Lotion Bars for upcoming craft shows. My products are also showcased

at our local Market House. I've sent a link in case anyone wants to

take a peak.http://www.visitcrawford.org/hosted/market_house.html

Welcome to the Group. :)

Thought I'd mention that I have my dogs to thank for alerting me to vaccines.

I became interested in canine nutrition and natural rearing and came across

all the info that said animal vaccines were bad.

So fast forward several years, I'm thinking of getting pregnant and figure I

best start researching human vaccines. I assumed that people vaccines were a

good thing even though I knew the animal ones were bad news. A couple books

later and Sheri showing me the light on tetanus (and maybe polio, I can't

remember now) I knew people vaccines were no better. Actually I think they

must be worse because they seem to kill more frequently and since humans live

longer, there's lots of time for the vaccine damage to make itself known.
