hi sari, welcome to the list!!

what state are you in?

keep an eye on the child--you can catch measles from the mmr--it is a 'live' vax. either the mother didnt' understand the dr, or the dr lied or isn't very well informed, because it definately is a possibility to contract illnesses from the 'live' vaxes, such as OPV and MMR.

welcome!!

Welcome Kathy!!

intro

Hey, I was wondering where all you guys went!

I am a hobby soap maker at the present time. Although I have always

dreamed of having a really " cool " soap shop, it hasen't happened. I

make soap for my family and I give tons away to family and friends

for gifts.

I love to read about whats going on and new/or old soap ideas. I

hate to be labeled a 'lurker', but there are times when I don't make

soap for months. I made a bunch of soap before Christmas and gave

most of it away as gifts. I want to use up my current supply before

I make anymore.

I would love to do a good one day craft show here in CNY sometime. I

would also love to get together with other CNY soapers to trade soap

and ideas.

Here are the " tips " I have about soaping in NY...(you all probably

know these already)

* BJ's has the best price on " Casa " olive oil.. $7.99 for a gal, but

you have to be a member. Don't bother driving to Casa imports in

Utica (olive oil people). It's costs more there $10 a gal. I can't

find a cheaper grade at Sam's club. There's is $15 for 5 liters.

* The popcorn supply place in Syracuse sells coconut oil in 50lb

containers for a good price $45-50.

* P & C is the only place (that I know of) that puts REd Devil lye on

sale occasionally.

I'm glad to see a 'kinder gentler' CNY soap list.

Hi Kathy!

Welcome to the list! I am also in B'ville-off 370 around the corner

from the Plainville Turkey Farm. What type of soap do you make? I do

mp, bath salts/fizzies, and will be adding milk baths soon. I have a

business I started last year and did mainly area craft shows, and favors

for a wedding.

Terri-I think a mini weekend gathering would be fun!

Hi ,

Try some organic cheese. Horizon is a company that has great organic butter and

yogurt that we buy. There are other companies too that have organic cheese.

Organic in the sense that the cows are not treated or injected with anything.

Hi ,

Welcome to the list. My husbands family all have either Asthma, allergies or both, everyone was expecting our baby to have something like that too - well he is now 18 months no vax and showing no sign's of anything of the sort. We have no support in the family regarding our decision, but I'm ok with that, after all - he is our baby and we both agree on what we are doing.

We have pretty much decided - NO VAX for anything EVER, and have told the family such. They were waiting expectantly for us to tell them that we had him vaccinated because we just booked him into day care - They just did not believe there was such a thing as an exemption, needless to say they are speechless right now.

Good luck and welcome to the list - you'll love it here, even though it gets really busy. (By the way - you type really well with a baby on your lap!!)

Hello !!! Welcome :o) I am 24 y/o SAHM to eric 3, nne 2,

and 3 months. I am practicing AP and am vegan. I am studying vaccines

as well , both my older kids are vaxed... but I thought that it was

manditory for them, now that I know I have a choice, I want to make an

informed decision about my son and his vaccines (or not).

Welcome again !

Hi , nice to have you here. :) I have family in Ann Arbor, MI and

friends in St. Clair Shores. Not sure how far from you that is...

I'm a 23 yr old SAHM to 11 mo. old Maxwell (also breastfed) and I'm due

w/ #2 in October. (ACK!) Max was born in a hospital, but #2 will be

born at home. I'm definitely looking forward to it. :) We practice some

aspects of AP, but not all, however we are both very supportive of

those that AP all the way. It's excellent!!! :)

I am not real keen on the treatment of animals and what they put in our

milk. When I first read about what's in my milk, I went to my kitchen

and promptly dumped what was in my fridge -- roughly 3/4 gal. I have

been mulling over ways to have a better diet w/o meats & dairy... But I

love cheese! :)

Maxwell was vaxed until his 9 mo. appt, but will not be vaxed anymore.

I did not discover what's in vaccinations until after hat appt. The new

baby will not be vaxed at all. I am very fortunate to have an extremely

supportive husband. He's very open minded and we have alot of like

ideas on child-rearing. :)

Welcome to the list! :)

A pygmy goat is about the size of a twenty-five pound dog, and they can Be used for milk and cheese, albeit goat cheese. Many people keep them inside. Then you *know* everything about it's life, what it's exposed to, what it eats, what shots it gets... Just a thought.

We have chosen to not vaccinate. I do not oppose vaccinations. I oppose

the political and monetary implications of mandatory immunizations.

Someday Ezra may be vaccinated for certain things. We are currently

researching Tetnus. Both my husband and I are vaxed and we both have

asthma and food intolerances. My husband is allergic to just about

everything. We are veggies making our way to veganism.

Welcome to the list.

I will just say that several researchers are coming up with the opinion

that some of the children most at risk for vaccine damage may be those of

parents who hav,e or there is in their family, a history of allergies,

asthma, auto-immune problems, cancer and other things.

Also for info on tetanus that might give you a different point of view

Also northern climates it is less present in the soil but not sure how far

north.

Cut out dairy! You don't need it. It has boosted my family's health 1000% to be without dairy. And unfortunately, organic isn't much better. Go visit www.notmilk.com Cheese is so concentrated. It takes 10 lbs of milk to make 1 lb of cheese. And all cheese has that lovely casinate, a milk protein, to facilitate melting and casinate is glue. It's the glue used to attach labels to beer bottles. We used to be "cheese freaks" too. Triple extra cheese on the pizza, etc. But we have learned to cook with soy cheese and nutritional yeast does a pretty good job of making a cheesy taste. I just made a killer baked macaroni and "cheese" w/ nutritional yeast, I felt like I was cheating!!! There's so many great vegan cookbooks, you won't miss the dairy, I promise!

peace and love,
