Bethanne,

Working in the medical field I can tell you. Dr's are not God. You must be

assertive. You have got to take control of your medical care and what

direction it is going in. Never, Never, Never be affraid to question. Any

Dr. that gets upset if you question would worry me. If he is confident in

his diagnosis he will understand that with a diagnosis of AIH you have every

right to question. Your life depends on the correct diagnosis and mangement

of you medications. If your Dr. gets upset move on. I have fired a long

term family MD who has been a friend and family MD for years because he

failed after 3 phone calls to report on an abnormal CT scan I had. Still

haven't heard from him. Called myself and had hospital fax report to my

office (I work for a physician and I had the results in 5 mins.) New family

MD is working well with GI doc and Hepatologist. Never be affraid to

question. I't's you life and your right.

Hang in there and always question.

<Any Dr. that gets upset if you question would worry me. If your Dr. gets upset move on. >

Oh yes! I totally agree with this statement! Once, I questioned a doctor when I told him that another doctor would like to talk to him about his dx. I continued that I had some questions about what he meant by the dx of Drug Induced Lupus that he had given me....He was so infuriated that he got up and walked out of the office.

My husband was with me and he was totally infuriated with this doctor and agree that I was NEVER to see him again! I never went back, but did write a letter to him pointing out his improper dx and also some impoper history that he had taken from me. He said I had one disease when I had told him it was another...very similar in name, but VAST difference where they are found! So...instead of saying that he didn't know what the disease was, he wrote the other disease down...hey...they are NOT gods!!! But many think they are!

Hi Janet,

Well your beans should be sprouting by now. It

probably was not necessary to soak them for 2 days.

Let us know how they turned out. Marilyn

Hey, Janet, I've always soaked my beans and seeds overnight, then drained

thoroughly followed by 2-3 rinses daily and had considerable success.

Hi,

Thanks for replying. My beans are starting to sprout now, and it's the

first time I've ever done it. Hope they're edible!

Hi Marilyn,

I noticed some of the beans starting to sprout, so I hope they all

will, since it's the first try for me. Like anything else, the first time is

always the hardest. Thanks for your reply. It's nice to know there are

people who care.

Debby,

Next doctor to walk out or get angry because you want information tell him you are going to research on the net if you won't tell me they hate that. But my doctors play better since I have done tons of research and call them on things.

Hi Suzy,

I have it on and off - mostly off now days, but it

was bad for a while. Check kidney function too. But it

could be nothing major too. I have found that if I

slack off on eating enough protein my swelling is

worse. Also, sitting for too long in front of this

computer!!! (The edge of chair impairs circulation.)

Alternately, standing for too many hours. I guess you

have to balance between walking (or worse, just

standing) and sitting. If there is nothing wrong with

heart or kidneys, look to your diet and anything that

may be affecting circulation in your legs. Good luck,

I know how uncomfortable it can be! I do have some

diuretics I can take if I really need them.

thanks Claudine,

i do think I ate enough protein, but who knows, will get the tests back

tomorrow hopefully, he did check kidneys too, glad to hear someone else has

gotten it, I did some walking on vacation but I did not work out and so was

out of my routine, maybe I sat around more than I thought. It is already

going down some thank goodness, was getting rather uncomfortable. The funny

thing is, he wrote a prescription for a diuretic and I really don't think

I'm peeing that much more , did cut down on my water also though today,

will keep in touch

Thank you again

Suzy

Hi Ada,

They say the liver isn't supposed to hurt but I have pain 24/7 under

my right ribs and around my back..... Feels like a toothache and burns

and throbs.... Sometimes feels like a stabbing pain. We all have the

same complaint.... Seems to me that there is something tied in there

somewhere.... The tiredness is also a symptom of Hep C..... You don't

have to be on treatment to feel the symptoms.... Forgetfulness is also

associated with the Hep.... Hey....... Think I could forget about

Christmas presents and blame it on the Hep C? Wouldn't work would it?

LOL.... Hope we helped you out some...... Jan? Is everything big in

Texas as the saying goes????? LOL

Abdominal pain is one of the first symptoms I

experienced before starting treatment and is a common

complaint. They say that the liver does not feel pain,

but I believe that it causes pain in the surrounding

tissue. The symptoms of hepatitis are very similar to

those experienced from the treatment. -dz-

It's one of those things that doctors say patients

don't experience, but patients say they do experience

it. I complained of many things along the way that my

dr said were not associated with the hcv. My opinion

is that the dr's don't understand why it happens so

they say that it doesn't happen. -dz-

Hello Ada

The liver itself does not feel pain. An inflamed liver can push on other

things that do feel pain. Nausea and fatigue are symptoms of an unhealthy

liver.

Merry Christmas
