Good point. I treat my animals internally to. I elected natural, also because of

daily maintenance. I use MSM and food grade diatomaceous daily.

I have a front loader w/d.  Regular free & clear detergent and baking soda or arm & hammer non -powdered with baking soda doesn't break the washer.  I use the top loaders at the l'mat with powdered arm & hammer many times.

I swear by fels naptha. Will never use anything but. It is kinda of a hassle to

make your own soap, but its worth it:) Plus i work and live in the woods, poison

ivy I have not had since changing my soaps:0

Something else cheap and helps many. Flower of sulfur. I take this and MSM

daily. You can also blend the flower of sulfur into the liquid lye and shampoo

wash with. Hint mix flower of sulfur with olive oil then blend with blender or

mixer and liquid lye.

LJ - my story sounds awfully similar to yours. I can tell you that moving

helped in our case. We are not totally better but miles away from where we were

when this started. I think our home was so heavily infested I am not sure we

could have beat it (and we tried it all - chemical, natural, cleaning protocols,

medications, etc). Our mites were confirmed via a sample sent to an university

lab but even with the positive ID nobody could help us. These mites have

somehow morphed into something bigger and badder than old school text books and

science professors understand. I did get Lyme and Bartonella from the buggers

and am being treated for both.

We did not get rid of everything when we moved as my husband just couldn't bear

to throw our belongings out. If I could do it again I would pitch it all - go

to a hotel for several days, treat with various meds/protocols while at the

hotel and then move into a new place. I want you to know, too, that I understand

moving is a huge deal. We lost nearly our life savings but, we saved our lives.

I was the worst affected, then my son, daughter and my husband only

sporadically.

Please don't loose hope. Since you are the only one experiencing issues your

environment may still be able to be addressed through the many protocols listed

here. I can certainly share with you what worked best for us. Delta dust in

the wall voids, sockets, etc. - borax on the carpets and continual washing of

bedding. If possible, keep your laundry separate from everyone else for the

time being. Get the steam press that suggested. I used to not be able to

wear anything without experiencing crawling, biting, etc. I went from being a

girlie girl who loved to get dressed up to someone who dreaded getting dressed

period. The steam press was a game changer.

Also, get tested for Lyme and it's co-infections as soon as you can. It sounds

like you may have acquired something in this ordeal. If you have the funds get

the Cedarcide fogger and products. It didn't help much in the house but it sure

helped in the car (smaller area maybe) - it's quick and easy to use.

As also said, keep a journal as to what treatments/protocols you are

following. It is so easy to forget what worked/when. Also chart your symptoms.

A couple of other things that helped me:

Vic's vapor rub on active spots

Spraying sheets/bedding with vinegar/wintergreen alcohol before getting into bed

(I also used to spray clothing - it stops the itchies)

Off Botanicals natural bug repellent lotion (it has a green leaf on the tube)

Epsom salt baths

Sleeping medication (if you aren't sleeping get something to help asap - you

cannot beat this if you are not able to rest)

Exfoliating the face with facial wash and the body with salt rubs - they seem to

love dead skin or something

KleenFree in the laundry (this was like magic for us - I know it doesn't work

for everyone so maybe just try one bottle to test it)

I can't promise you a total cure but I know you can get better! The acute stage

of these mites is so awful it is difficult to even put into words. But,

everyone here on this board has been there and you will move through it.

Please let us know what we can do to help!

Cindi and all,

Yet think of all the musicians, singers, athletes or persons we deem successful

who have the habit of closing their eyes or averting their eyes in order to

concentrate, feel the beat or be in the zone. For them it is ok or considered a

mannerism that will be over-looked because they have achieved status already.

Looking someone in the eye is highly overrated.

Mystery no more Nicky. Wonderful Del is re-organising our files

section for us, an ENORMOUS job, and so that these do not get into the

horrendous mess they were in previously, we decided that members should not upload

documents into the Files section anymore. Any information they wanted listed in

the files, they must send to Del (I will be making an announcement about this shortly)

so she can upload the document for them, to ensure that it goes into the

correct FOLDER. To help with this, I changed the setting that previously

allowed members to upload files, but I apparently clicked the option that also stopped

members from DOWNLOADING them too. So the FILES disappeared from the Menu.

When you and others questioned where the files had gone, yesterday

evening, I went back to Management to have a look to see what was wrong and

found I had disallowed members from downloading the files too and rectified

this. This is when the FILES SECTION came back into the Menu.

…and if you understand all of that, you're a better gal

then me!

Hi Sheila, files were missing from my page

Dr. Grossman,

This is flatly incorrect, though it sounds like an answer I got recently from

USAA when I was arguing with them about their Auto Injury Solutions vendor -

" you can just go get the money from the third party carrier, what's the big

deal? " So, while it's true that PIP carriers are doing everything they can to

shift costs away from themselves and onto patients, doctors and liability

carriers, it's also true that they are completely in the wrong in doing so.

Nothing has changed in law or reason to cause a third party carrier to start

picking up the tab for ongoing care prior to a final result in a case.

DCs who take those cases, and I"ve done it from time to time, can bill the 3rd party, however, you must wait for ALL care to be completed, the litigation to be finished and then get payment at the end. If the patient is a 'flight' risk or the case is shaky, you could end up with nothing.

I would advise that if a doctor was considering taking this very risky tack, it

would make more sense to work on a Letter of Protection basis with the patient

and his or her attorney, rather than count on the third party carrier

remembering/paying you after they get the injured person's signature on the

release.

At the end of the day, it's only the patient who owes you any legal duty to pay

your bill - not the at-fault party or his/her carrier.

Correct Ben, however these cases are pretty common. I do a lot of them and

(knock on wood) have yet to be burned. I too suggest all utilize a lien in

such a situation and to keep close contact with the adjuster on the case

until resolution of the case. Once they have your bills in their hands they

seem to be pretty good about getting payment out when the case closes out.

The patient presents with a gross generalization. Distortions anddeletions of information need to be explored. Not liking you, the dentist, whompatient has never met before, is not a clear representation of what patient is trying tosay. Start the interview with questioning surprise in your voice as you cause her toreflect by repeating her phrasing, “You don’t like dentists?,†with the expectationthat she will elaborate. Probably she has had a bad experience, and by proceedingfrom the generalization to the specific, communication will advance. It is importantto do active listening and to allow the patient who is somewhat belligerent toventilate her thoughts and feelings. You thereby show that you are differentperhaps from

a previous dentist who may not have developed listening skills andleft the patient with a negative view of all dentists. The goals are to enhancecommunication, to develop trust and rap port, and to start a new chapter in thepatient’s dental experience.so answer shd be d i suppose. As a dentist you should always take patient history about past dental work , not liking a dentist can be because of many reasons e.g: physiological reasons...childhood trauma... and other factors.

Once you know the reason then you can discuss on tht particular scenario. If patient is in early

60s then they are probably traumatized from dental work done during childhood ;extractions without LA, you compare that with modern dentistry, and discuss the new methods.

Sometime patient just want the confident of dentist and you can only do that by consultation and taking pt history.

You will never send patient out of surgery- against dental ethics

Sedation and GA- not liking dentistry or dentist are not the reasons for referring patient to sedation or GA.

They are risk involved in these procedure and should only considered as last option in phobic patients, mental disturbed patients.

Hi, ! I have seven special needs kids, including , 9, who

has an as yet undiagnosed neurological disease, but he also has autoimmune

and immune issues, including low IgG and low IgM (some call it CVID, some

call it hypogammaglobulinemia, depends on which of his doctors you talk to

:). He has always gotten sick when he went out, so we kept him home alot.

He started Immune globulin 20 months ago and has felt a lot better. He

still gets sick, don't get me wrong, but he feels SO MUCH better over all

that it is worth doing the infusions. He has much less frequent

infections now. We did subcutaneous immune globulin at home every week

for over a year, and really liked the convenience of doing it at home, but

now we are doing it at an infusion center every 4 weeks because he needs a

certain kind of IVIG that is administered there. We bring our DVD player

and lots of snacks, and even with his developmental delay and autism, my

son does really well! For the infusions at home, we made it a special

occasion, too.

There are several companies that will send you a " play therapy " type kit

for you to talk to your child about what to expect--it even includes play

infusion sets to tape on the stuffed animal. You can contact them to send

you one for free when you know which immune globulin he will receive.

This really helped my child know what to expect. actually likes

having an IV better than doing more needles with the subcutaneous

infusion, but the subQ infusions are short, whereas the IVIG infusions are

a little longer (it depends on your dose as to how long the infusions are,

the more you weigh, the more medicine you get)--more time to have to sit

still when you are wriggly. Some people can get their IVIG infusions done

at home, too.

We try to use common sense on not exposing to infections, no sick

visitors, good handwashing, lots of antibacterial gel, etc. When he is

already sick, his immunity is low, so we try to let him get well before he

goes out again. We have chosen to homeschool, but it is a personal choice

for each family.

I hope that you and your doctors are able to make the right decision for

your son's health. You can also check the archives for this group to find

out a lot of previously posted information on IVIG versus SCIG (or subQ

IG). I hope that this info helps :)

AMEN Sheila! It is hard. I have no balance - I am all autism all day and my son is only 9 KateOn Sun, Jan 8, 2012 at 11:21 AM, Sheila Keightley <somesheila65@...> wrote:

I mean, I am so grateful, but maintaining these leaves little time for personal ones. Sex? I haven't a clue anymore. I would need respite to get over the respite because he thinks the date I didn't really enjoy anyway (he locked me out of the shower while I was getting ready) was out of spite. And I feel so supremely selfish for having written that.

Everyone, it seems, are always judging our parenting skills, or lack thereof. Spank them, let them cry it out, give them a sticker...

And money. I do this autism gig without a car. I need to go to the grocery store and I so am not looking forward to the fight ahead of me of a kid with autism on public transportation.

Will it ever get better?
