Guest guest Report post Posted June 11, 2003 HEY group.... I forgot to mention in my inaugural address that one thing I insist on is a sense of humor and FUN...so shape up any of you gloomy Gussies.... much of being supportive can be helping others out of the blues and out of the dumps... (however try to be sensitive of each others feelings sometimes a joke may not be appropriate (note to self) love jerry Jerry Fox owner..(Whatever the hell that means) gefox@... Guest guest Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Hello Jerry ! I read the e-mail from Linnie and was waiting for this letter but I knew that you would sent it soon. I must tell you that it could not have been written any better. It clearly shows to come from your heart and with much love and when you do things that way you can't go wrong. As long as God will grant me health and a little strength to touch a few letters on the keyboard; I will always be here. As you know by now; I try to acknowledge God in all my ways since He has been truly faithful to me throughout all this so I hope that I will never offend anyone since my intentions are to extend my love to every single member here. Joan as the moderator is just wonderful; she has been so sweet to me and I'm still hoping to one day finally meet her in person. I will never forget last christmas eve when I got home and found that precious and delicious arragement of fruit and other goddies that she sent to me. Some friends from church were dropping me off and they were so impressed and with a big smile I told them "this is from my on-line family" and since then I have received many more precious gifts from different members so I have truly been a beneficiary while in here. Great Job ! Love, Tony
Guest guest Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Jerry Glad to have you, can't think of a better owner. Glad Joan is still around or this would be a group of the crazies leading the crazies. I can't promise to behave but I'll try if I have to. Congratulations. I toast you with virtual champagne (alcohol doesn't travel through cyberspace so we're ok) Patty [ ] group OK gang here is the skinny... This past weekend from Friday thru Sunday I was pretty much off line...in fact my mailbox filled up and stopped receiving mail. The weekend was a time for celebration in Alcoholics Anonymous. We recognize June the 10th as being the beginning of AA that was the day one of our founders Dr. took his last drink. He was a physician in Akron , Ohio my hometown and right here in Akron was where AA was born. He together with a New York business man....Bill .... got together at the home of Henrietta Siberling (daughter of the founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber) and began talking about their alcohol problems in a quest to find a solution..the talks laid the groundwork of forming AA which now has about 3 million members world-wide (or more ..there is no actual count) Each year on the weekend closest to June 10 we have founders day celebrations and some 12.000+ people from all over the world converge on Akron for making and renewing friendships, support, discussions, meetings , entertainment, and just plain fun...that's 12000 sober drunks from bikers to bankers, laborers to lawyers, draftsmen to doctors of every race, color creed, nationality, sexual pesuasion and religion and it's one big family reunion. They go on pilgrimsges to doctor Bob's house, Stan Hywett Hall ( the Goodyear mansion,) St. hospital's Ignatia hall (the first hospital to treat alcoholism as a disease.... I my self spent 2 tours of duty in de-tox there) and many othe places that are part of AAs beginnings ..including te site of the first ever AA meeting. had a great time....this was my 10th Founders Day....but it was extremely tire-some for me. Anyway...... Friday AM I checked my email and found a very surprising invitation from Joanne to take over as owner of the group....I 'd have dropped my teeth if they weren't real . I couldn't believe that she aske little old opinionated me, who was always stirring up trouble....I meant to write her back and decline as I thought I had neither the skill nor the temperment to do this job.....Hell I don't even have a computer......I went shmoomzing for the weekend and by the time i checked back in Monday morning to see what was happening in group I found out that Joanne had not waited for me to answer and that I was now indeed the owner, Joan the moderator, and the PBCers along with Joanne and Linnie had unsubscribed from the group. So here I is the new owner of the group... Hold all your applause please. As I am not to sure what my duties actually are except I have a title and some unknown powers I guess ...I want to ask all of you to help me the best you can. Please try to stay reasonably close to the rules or Joan will be swift and vengeful...she's in charge of that stuff because I don't like to get my hands dirty....try to help me stay , personally out of controversy as you all know my sharp tongue and I'd hate to have to ban myself...(I'd probab;ly ban Joan instead anyway for not doing her duty) If you ever have questions or bitches write me or her personally. Likewise beore getting on another members behind on line take it outside...I don't want any more disension. This is A terrific group of people and I want us to be close to everyone. While I am on that note....we have at present 625 membes...but only about 20 actually post regularly... I took a quick glance and see that may be due to the fact that most don't have daily or digest forms of delivery. I want ALL of our members to participate . Please don't be timid or shy the regular posters are not ogres and actually we can get a bit tiresome. If you post a couple three times someone should answer you and soon you will feel like part of the group....(poor babies). Please jump in on any subject and remember there are NO dumb questions but I for a fact know there are many dumb answers... Lets build this support group back to the way it was intended to be. Your DOM ..but fearless servant (at least for now,... if I don't kick myself off for insubordination) I'll try desparately to remember I'm here to help you ...likewise please give me help too. I love ALL of you !!!!

Guest guest Report post Posted May 19, 2004 Sharon, I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds as though the doctors were not as helpful as they could have been. It is very noble of you to spread the word. All people in pain need an advocate that can speak up for them and they, like you said, also need to find the words to speak up for themselves. This is a lesson I am learning and the support of your group has been exceptional. This group helps so many of us; I hope that we can also in return help you in your time of grief. Please keep in touch. We all wish you the best. -a > Hello too everyone. As most of you know I started this group as a > place for all of us too come and get support with our pain. Guest guest Report post Posted May 23, 2004 -Hello n thanks so much for caring it really helps knowing that others care. I am so sorry too hear about your pain, has your dr got you on nuerotin??? As a rule we don't discuss meds here but I have been thinking about that and I think if we just limit that too the narcotics and pain meds it would be ok. I mean I know we all take a heck of alot more than that unfortunately. Anyway its a really good med for nerve pain, it actually helps block the pain. Also you might be a canidate for a transplant like I got so you might look into that. The implant blocks the nerve pain at the nerve root so most of it doesn't get too your leg. It isn't perfect but it sure has got me at least walking again. Before I had it in dec I could not even leave the house and I pretty much had too stay on one level, forget stairs they were terrible. If you'd like too write me and discuss all this please do I hope I can be of some help. Take care I know its not easy when the pain is so severe I'll keep you in my prayers. Hugz Sharon p.s. I got a puppy to cheer me up and geez it was too much work, we should have gotten another cat the puppy is now 8 months and 75 lbs, I can barely walk her she is so huge. What a great small house dog I adopted, she was supposed too be UNDER 50 lbs HA!!!!!!! I think someone misread the breed mix at the adoption agency. -- In neck pain , n Pace <kehla59@y...> wrote: > Sharon, I just opened my e-mail and i'm so very sorry 4 your lost.
