Guest guest
Hi Wanda, Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience of your first belly dance class with us. I am so glad that you had a fabulous time and that your instructor likes the way you shimmy. I know that all that Hammertime dancing did the trick and that it really helped you a lot to make yourself a big hit in your belly dance class. And that is such good exercise for you. Are you going to belly dance and do Life LIft breathing at the same time? THAT should really be AWESOME!!!! When is your next class and how many classes do you have all together? Love always, Pat Re: I DID IT! thank you ! I really loved it and was shocked when she pointed out my shimmy to the others. I was amazed! A totally awesome experience! Guest guest
Dearest Wanda, It sounds like you had a marvelous time in your new adventure. I am glad you are enjoying it. If anyone deserves a place to get away and lighten up it is you, my friend. It sounds to me like you are getting down the basics to hula dancing too. Are you trying to get one up on the rest of us going on our road trip to Hawaii???? lol You will not only need the chains to tinkle but the finger cymbals to ring a ling. Hey we ought to throw in a grass skirt too just in case there is a crossover in the techniques. Maybe even some maracas. Sounds like lots of laughs and giggles (until the sore muscles, that is). ching-ring-a-ling Virginia --- winwithlifelift <winwithlifelift@...> wrote: > Well, Ladies I am beeming ear to ear tonight. Guest guest
Oh , what a wonderful childhood memory you had with your Mom. Yes, you should take it with your daughter. And great job on those hip circles! No idea where anything will take place; all I want is those awesome musical hip things they wear! Guest guest
Virginia, You are so right on all this. The sheer pleasure and proudness I feel at myself just fo doing this at my size; well I'm still beaming ear to ear; even with some sore muscles. Actually, from I remember in my hula dance back in the 80's; this is a lot different; and the slower the move the more controlled your body is. I am still so excited about it all. Pat, you asked how many I have; well it is a 6 week course; but 2 Saturdays are going to be postponed a little so it will be over in about 8 weeks. Thank you everyone for your encouragement! Love, Wanda. > > > Well, Ladies I am beeming ear to ear tonight. I > > had my first belly > > dance class; it was supposed to be an hour but our > > instructor kept us > > for 2 hours. Guest guest
Hi Wanda, You should most definitely feel a sense of pride for enrolling it and actually taking a course in belly dancing. That is so awesome, not to mention exceptionally good exercise!!! After you are through with the 6 week course, which will turn out to be 8 weeks long because you will not be having class for two of the six weeks of the duration of the course, you will be able to continue your belly dancing on your own at home. Is your instructor giving you and your classmates handouts with descriptions of the movies, etc.? Of course you are still excited about it all!!! Who wouldn't be excited about something like this!!! Maybe you will even make friends with some of your classmates and will be able to meet at someone's house once in awhile to do some belly dancing, or you might even develop a friendship with your instructor after the belly dance classes are over!!! Wouldn't that be nice for you, dear???? Love always, Pat Re: I DID IT! Guest guest
Amen sisters of LL Blessings R I DID IT! Well, Ladies I am beeming ear to ear tonight. I had my first belly dance class; it was supposed to be an hour but our instructor kept us for 2 hours. She was a sweetheart of a young woman; she really was. And she thinks I have an awesome 'shimmy'. : ) It was certainly a good workout. I am going to have to find a way to wrap up my torn tendon on my ankle and my falling arches; because they hurt like mad. And oh my goodness a lot of arm work; well it was a great great fun time! I loved every moment of it and can't wait for the next class. She was explaining the history of Egyptian dance and everything and about it all being a celebration of women. Isn't that such a nice thing; to celebrate women? I love that idea. In one month they have their next meeting (I can't think of the word she used right now) where all the women get together and dance and celebrate womanhood. Well we are all invited! And later in the year she would love to invite us all on stage to perform. I told her only if I get a lot of belly chains because if you can get me up there I need to make a lot of pretty noises! The instructor said that my shimmy is perfect. Hey, I've got a lot to shimmy : ). The mastering of moving the knees/legs in a certain rythym to shimmy was so incredibly free-ing and fun. I think all my hammertiming helped. LOL Well my dear friends; I was very excited to share this all with you. And one more awesome thing; after she changed and left she came back in with a precious little dolphin with a baby dolphin next to it; and it lights up and does a light show. Without knowing me, she came up to me and said I'd like you to give this to your Dad. I just gave her a big hug and thanked her. Her kindness; her being in tuned with me and everything was overwhelming. It was a great great experience! Love, Wanda.

Guest guest
Hi , Yes, actually we did hip kicks the first lesson; and also chest lifts and of course the shimmy. We did a complete beautiful dance. Of course none of us look as elegant as the instructor; but it was awesome. No, I didn't buy the hip shimmers yet but I will before long! : ) Love, Wanda > > > > Wanda > > > > This is Incredible!! > > > > I totally forgot I took Belly Dance a so a Teen with my Best fried > her mom and mine > > > > It was alot of fun! Guest guest
Genia, Congrats on being a bandsters!! :-) and I am so proud of you for being that brave to go alone to do this surgery. that is a huge step! I don't think you were being a baby at all! I would have been a basket case without my husband by my side. I made him help me the whole time I was down there. So, you are a brave woman to have faced that alone. But as you found out when you go down you are " never " really alone, because the staff and fellow patients really are amazing people, are they?!! :-) Just take care and take it easy. And walk, walk, walk. These first few weeks are a bit rough. But they do pass and then things get back to normal pretty quickly. enjoy the down time and just take it slow. IT is normal to be sore, just let your body heal and don't push yourself. take care, I am so happy for you that you are in the bandster family now!! :-) feel free to ask us anything, we are here for your support. :-) hugs, > > Well everyone, I did it- I got banded on Monday October 3rd. Guest guest
I don't know what I would have done with my husband for support. Although, looking back, with all the wonderful staff and patients, I could have done it. You are so brave. Isn't everyone wonderful! Be careful to drink only very small sips without swallowing air. I had a water bottle from the airport that had a top on it that could be adjusted for only small amounts. I washed it out and used it for everything. I had really difficult time getting down liquids for the first 5 or 6 days. I drank Isopure liquids and water. I did have some Unjury soup protein powder. My surgery was 9/15, so I am 3 weeks out. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing.skOn 10/5/07, Cyrena Weeks <cyrenaweeks@...> wrote: Genia, CONGRATS!! Your a bandster now!! Guest guest
I have done well so far- i am not as sore today. I went and got some vitamins, and more chicken broth! I am drinking flavored isopure, and its really not that bad, I walked in wal mart today, so that helped. my tummy is still sore on my left side and i was told that it will be for awhile since that is where most the tugging was done. I do look forward to my next stage of food, although....and dont laugh everyone, but i have NEVER eaten a creamy soup! The only soup I ever eat is chicken stars....so I am wondering if that will be ok instead of creamy soups..its not far off from just broth.. anyway, I keep thinking off off the wall questions, but I guess as I think of them I will just ask....
