Hi LaWanda,

Have you thought about getting books on tape to listen to while you

exercise?

It sure helps me when I've got an odious chore to do, makes it easier.

Thanks, I always read books on tape, unless I use braille. Whether I do

books or music, I can't do it when I walk as my main way of knowing what's

going on is with my ears. This morning I just went for a walk, as soon as

I got up, and got it over. When I use my elliptical, I listen to rock and

that keeps me moving. Think I'll start doing the walk as soon as I wake

up, that seemed to help. LaWanda At 09:19 AM 6/12/05, you wrote:

I hate exercise too. I went and bought a cd player

with ear phones and what a diff that was. I popped in

my favorite music and I was able to do 25 minutes

instead of my 13 to 15 minutes. I think I am pumped up

from yesterday at my appointments and even though I am

3 lbs from goal want to take off another ten so that

surgery is easier on me.

With you being withing 5 lbs why didn't they schedule your surgery, is it due to

the appts. that you needed?

I hate exercise too. I went and bought a cd player

with ear phones and what a diff that was. I popped in

my favorite music and I was able to do 25 minutes

instead of my 13 to 15 minutes. I think I am pumped up

from yesterday at my appointments and even though I am

3 lbs from goal want to take off another ten so that

surgery is easier on me.

No dumping. I did eat too fast one time and didn't feel so well.

Like it was stuck in my throat. Other than that, I've been going

along just fine. I did 4 days of Water Aerobics this week. By the

time I was done yesterday, I could hardly life my arms I was so

stinkin' tired. I took today off.

I haven't been keeping track of how many calories I eat at all. I

decided to get back on fitday.com today and start tracking just so

I'd have an idea. I had a slice of turkey with 1/2 slice of cheese

melted in it. I rolled it up and ate it warmed up. It was pretty

good. Really, at this point, I could care less if I eat. I eat

because I need to.

You are not too far behind me...I've lost 20 pounds post-surgery as

of Wednesday. You are doing just fine. You've had a tough time of

it. I'm sure once you get things worked out (meds, etc.), you'll

start dropping them fast.

Keep me posted!

I just planned out what I was going to eat (I do eat every 4-6

hours -- breakfast, lunch, dinner) today and it adds up to about 450

calories with 43 grams of protein. Yesterday it was only about 350

calories with 30+ grams of protein. I have no idea where I'm suppose

to be at and I'm listening to my body so I'm just going to continue

to go with it. I have my 6 week post-op group appointment on 7/7 so

I'm sure I'll get some more info then. I'm thinking about maybe

calling Beth (at Richmond) and checking in with her.

Dr. Baggs said I could go back to swimming, water aerobics, walking

on the treadmill if I felt up to it. My water aerobics class is 60

minutes long. That's my daily exercise. Today I'll go for walk I

think, since I skipped water aerobics. I certainly don't want to

lose what muscle I do have (which is very little).

Hugs to you Rose!

Tina my book says that you should get 75-80 grams of protein in daily the nutrition components after surg in my book are calories 700-900 per day carbs 100 per day from fruits and vegies limit fat to 30 gms and of course the vitamins and 64 oz of water. Hope this might help. I'm sure if your feeling pretty good you don't need to worry too much..

I think that is what you are suppose to work up but I can't imagine

on three 2-oz. meals a day. That's impossible! I'm still on Stage

III foods and don't move to Stage IV until 12 weeks out. Does SSF

move you to Stage IV at 6 weeks or 12 weeks?

Tina, it sounds like you aren't getting enough protein. According to what

I've read, you need a minimum of 90 grams of protein a day. You also need

to remember that we no longer absorb all the protein we take in from

food. LaWanda At 10:16 AM 6/17/05, you wrote:

Well actually you do, because what you do now will affect you long term,

especially the protein. LaWanda At 12:12 PM 6/17/05, you wrote:
