Guest guest Report post Posted January 23, 2003 I'm in Virginia Beach, and we got about an inch or so. My Weatherbug says it's 19 degrees, and I got an alert awhile ago saying there's going to be a terrible wind chill starting soon that will make it feel like below zero. Brrrrr. The kids are out of school today and many people didn't go to work, as there are more cars in driveways in my court than usual. Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. " Re: Snow Pattie, Yep, the city of Raleigh and in fact the whole Triangle area is closed down, I think we may have gotten up to 3 inches, as that is what I have heard on the TV but to tell you the truth this snow doesn't really even cover the grass that well. It's a drier snow, so it's not great for making snowballs. The real problem is that is very, very cold (remember we're in the south folks). I think it's still in the 20s, but the wind is horrendous, so the wind chills are down close to 0. I hear the outer banks is really getting hit hard with this stuff though. Guest guest Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Weather is a program that runs in the tray at the bottom of your computer. It keeps you up to the minute on local weather conditions, warnings, etc. It's just a fun little toy I like to have running. Guest guest Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Hi, Margaret, There is about 2 " of snow currently on my deck, so we probably got 3 " overall. I'm supposed to attend a meeting in Pittsboro tomorrow with a group whose members come from all over the state, and at noon today we " checked in " to try to determine if the meeting is on or off. At that time, Morehead City and Beaufort had 7 " . Up around Caldwell County and Wilkes County, they had 7 " . Sanford had about 3 " . We haven't heard from the person in Charlotte or the person in Raleigh. We have about 3 " . Looks like the Banks got the worst of it, except for the mountains. But hey, the mountains frequently get snow in the winter--its a novelty for us! The sun was out most of the day, then it clouded up and started snowing again. Whup! The sun is out again. I haven't been out--I figure if God had wanted people to go outside in the snow, He'd have provided us with fur coats. Looks powdery, though--the snow-cream kind of snow. I hope this is our one snowfall for this year! Valeria > > > This doctor just said that the patient lives at home with her husband and other children. Guest guest Report post Posted January 23, 2003 >Weatherbug is a program that runs in the tray at the bottom of your computer. Mac & PC user that I am, I must point out that the start menu task bar does not have to be on the bottom of your screen. You can drag it to the side or to the top. I drag mine to the top (and also scoot various icons around on the desktop) so that I don't have to switch gears when I switch from Mac to PC. (: -Allie, who adores the Weatherbug.
