Ihtink you are having hypoglycemia in the night and htis is causing

adrnealine which is why your heart pouds and the headaches as well. YES

oyu shoudl stress dose before this surgeery. I would take 20mg right

before you go in for it and bring extra wiht you for as soon as oyu are

awake if oyu feel at all shaky take more then 10-20mg more. You

literally cannto take too much HC . In the hospitla they routinely give

100-200mg injecitons to people in shock.

How could it be hypoglycemia when I ate a nice big asian meal at a restaurant (gluten free, but I think it had a good amount of sugar and carbs in it!) at 9-11 pm, and also a big bowlof pure oats, rice milk and an organic banana at 1 am before going to bed?Shouldn't me being on 25 mg HC daily prevent adrenaline to appear? Wasn't itadrenaline that gave me fibrillation in the first place?I will not be put out during the operation. They will be using local anesthetics only, after they give me a "relaxing" shot in my arm. Just to make me calmer. I might need it.But I have so many fears before this operation, like, I've heard that Hypothyroid reactvery badly to anesthetics and sedatives, like we can die from normal doses of it becausethe effect of it gets MUCH stronger in Hypothyroid people. I know this is true. My

bloodpressure and pulse sank dramatically in 1996 (1 year before I got on T4!) when I was givena shot of morphine in my butt - I had a kidney stone at that time. Made from uric acid.Isn't THAT btw fruther proof that I am Hypothyroid?Talked to my GP again today. We ran blood tests, Ferritin, Eletrolytes, FT4/FT4/TSH/rT3,and so on.. He just said.. "You will not get any antibiotics - Cause it's useless with yourtonsils! You'll just get sick again in a few days after you heal!"He also said "don't stress-dose. I've been assisting hundreds of these operations, including on patients, they didn't stress-dose!".*sigh* I know I have to do this. I just want to be sure I am ready for it PHYSICALLY.Mentally is something else. But physically.. That's IT!If I get headaches from 27.5 mg HC, won't 200 mg of cortison be crazy for me if I getthat injected???Ihtink you are having hypoglycemia in the night and htis is causing

My pulse seems to raise. I don't know if it's good or bad, but.. In the past few days, my pulsehas gone up from 60-76, to 80+. Right now it's 84, and I haven't done a thing to get it uplike that. I know a pulse of 60 (or lower) isn't very good when you're not an athlete. Somenights I have a pulse of less than 60, some nights 120+.Can an infection, in my tonsils (like I know I have) or in my sinuses, raise the pulse? My GP just won't give me antibiotics - And I can in a way understand why. But isn't itdangerous to walk around with high whites, high neutrophiles, high pulse of 120 whenresting, and pain/pressure in the head as well as feeling lazy and sleepy like I do now?Whatever is causing this - I don't like it!Maybe it was stupid of me to go down to 25 mg HC? This is my third day on 25 mgdown from 27.5. mg

daily.

, I have been taking Selenium (200 mcg) since June, on and off. Now I am doing itdaily. To help with metabolism and to remove mercury, right? But I've heard that takingSelenium can be bad when you have AF, take HC and so on. My specialist tells me totake it.Also, should I take any form of Iodine? Foods? Supplement? Or is that bad as well? I'vebeen wondering about this forever: If you take thyroid meds, do you need Iodine at all?Brownsteins book say that Iodine is vital for the whole body, not just the thyroid system.

What is this new symptom I am getting more and more, it feels like the heart is stoppingfor a moment, and like someone PULLS it really hard, then it starts beating again. This is not a normal "skip of a heartbeat" to me, which I've had for years.

I think my cardiologist called it a premature beat...so it's like it gives you an extra beat. It's scary when it happens, but he said not dangerous.

Hi ,

My adrenals were getting close to being healed a little over a year ago now and then I had to have some surgery and I am still struggling to get them healed once again. I did not know about stress dosing or even telling the surgeon about my adrenal fatigue prior to the surgery, and they don't seem to ask those adrenal type questions prior to the surgery. He said afterwards when I started having problems again that had he known about my problems he would have had me stress dose and also given me an IV during surgery with cortisol. Surgery is very stressful on your adrenals.

Another thing about the tonsils. I still have my tonsils(51 now) but back in my early 30's I was having recurrent strep throat. Come to find out, my OBGyn finally said that something further must be going on and had my entire family tested for strep. Both of my two small children tested positive for strep and my Dr. concluded that each time I was just over the strep my children would re-infect me. My tonsils were taking a beating. The Dr. finally treated all of us with a round of anti-biotics and I have been cured ever since. I have not had strep since that time and I bet I had it 6-8 time within that one year. He did kee[ me on an anti-biotic therapy for a little while longer during that time just to be sure that the strep virus was totally kicked out. Possibly 2-3 months.

Just my two cent,

Ihtink you are having hypoglycemia in the night and htis is causing

adrnealine which is why your heart pouds and the headaches as well. YES oyu shoudl stress dose before this surgeery. I would take 20mg right before you go in for it and bring extra wiht you for as soon as oyu are awake if oyu feel at all shaky take more then 10-20mg more. You literally cannto take too much HC . "My heart would actually stop and then all of a sudden start back up with a hard beat"THAT'S what I'm getting! Is it dangerous? Doctors don't know anything about any of this..I feel like.. What do I do if my heart stops? What will the paramedics DO? Is thereanything special they should do in my case? I know I am thinking "maximise the crisis"now...

I was always afraid that it must be doing something horrible to my heart and mine went on for most likely three years before I found Val's site. I am not one to say whether it is damaging or it is just a feeling that we get. Val is the one to answer this. I do know that you feel as if you are dying but I didn't. I also went to a cardiologist for these palps, weird beats and panic attacks. I wore a holter monitor for several days and all results came back normal. He could never detect these weird beats either so I'm not sure what it really is....I just know how you feel and it's horrible. I am taking Nick and Val's tips very seriously. Gonna try to up my iron to 150 mg now.But it will make it 5 hours between every T3 dose, not 4. Is that ok?And after T3 goes into the cells.. How long does it last? When I take iron, iron lastsfor 4

hours right? Will there be NO T3 in my cells after I swallow iron?

There again I do not know about dosing or amounts per say. Sorry, I just follow Val's advice and try to understand as much as I can but there is just so much to learn. I actually take 65mg Iron-equivalent to 325mg of Ferrous sulfate only once daily during a lull between my T3 dosing. My ferritin was in the 20's and is now around 133. I also saw where a poster said that the type of iron I take is not good. I still to ask Val about this.Thank you SO much for your words ! They really make me feel a bit less lonely!

You are very welcome . It's lonely out there when you don't know what is happening or going on and the Dr's. try to say there is nothing wrong or try to give Anti-depressants to make you think it will just go away. I went to eight different Dr's. before I found Val and my Dr. now that is very open minded and willing to help me. You will find that you will get better with time but it does take time sometimes. I have only known Val since March and I'm still not totally there but so much better. She is a wonderful lady.

You will be in my prayers. Good Luck!

I used to have the very same symptoms...very scary. My heart would actually stop and then all of a sudden start back up with a hard beat. I also had the little flutters that feel like you are on the down side of a roller-coaster, which is most likely the adrenaline surge. I had panic attacks at night that made me feel like I was literally dead and then I would wake up with a gasp of air. It's a scary thing with this thyroid/adrenal stuff. I've read your posts and I feel so bad for you right now. Please hang in there and listen to Val and Nick....I have been on adrenal support and T3 with Val's help for about 8 months now and those heart symptoms are a thing of the past going on several months now. It will get better and better and before long those heart palps and weird beats will be a thing of the past.

>And after T3 goes into the cells.. How long does it last? When I take iron,

iron lasts

>for 4 hours right? Will there be NO T3 in my cells after I swallow iron?

The iron issue is absorbtion from the stomach and gut, not a serum

thing,

The T3 you take is transfered into the blood within and hour and in

there it carries on slowly transferring to the cells over the next few

hours.

The iron you take after that hour spends the next 4 hours transferring

from the gut to the bloodstream. If you took T3 at this time it would

bind to the iron and not get into the blood as they are not compatible

within the gut.

Once they are both in the blood they work together getting into the

cells and helping your metabolism

After 4 hours you can take T3 again without the iron being in the way,

it's further on down your gut.

Take the T3 sublingually and it transferrs straight to the blood via

the blood vessels in your mouth without being in the same place as the

iron and hence there is no interaction.

What happened to you trying a 4th 5mcg tablet sublingually, did you

not try that in the end.

Hello Nick, thanks for your reply! It's always interesting to hear from those who know more!Thank you for explaining this to me! I think I might get this now... I was just worried til nowabout the iron interfering with the T3 and vice verca. So as long as I have those 4 hoursafter the iron before I do the T3 I'm fine right? Or is this just the minimum? Longer wouldbe even better, or pointless? I want to do Everything I do in the most Optimal way.Good to hear that the T3 lasts longer in the cell than I thought. I was like....T3 lasts for 1 hour, then NOTHING is left of it, then I do the iron which removes allthe T3 that is left, and I am basically without T3 at all! :P Ok, now I know. Thanks!I do feel dumb sometimes! Guess it's LOW T3 in my braincells! HUH! :)I can't take the T3 sublingually. I asked my old

specialist about it. He is the good kind.Anyway. This T3 is non-sublingual. He did say that it would not be fully absorbed. The tablets are kind of very Hard and firm.Oh, one thing about the electrolytes: How fast do the change after I let's say drink 1 teaspoon of sea salt? My last Sodium was at 138. The range is 137 - 145. Means I was abit lowish 1 week ago. SO my question would be - If I drink 1 tea spoon sea salt dailyand got that result... Do I need to increase to 1 1/2 or even 2 tea spoons of sea salt daily?Or was my body just fluctuating the electrolytes at the time the test was done so itseemed low when it really wasn't? Maybe I didn't drink enough sea salt that day - MaybeI just drank 1/2 tea spoon before the test. Maybe too many hours passed after I dranksea salt before the test, etc. etc. And how much would the Sodium level go up afterI drink 1 tea spoon of sea salt? By 2 points? 4 points? 6

points? And in 1 hour? 1 day?1 week? 1 month? Like... Well, you get my drift!

4 is fine, no point waiting longer

Still worth scrunching one up and putting it under your tongue to see

if it dissapears. They are not " designed for " sublingual but may well

work. Swallowing what residue is left will make sure none is wasted

I've been noticing more and more cramps in my chest muscles. Now.. What can this be?Too much or too little salt? I've always had a Magnesium over the top so it cannot be toolittle Magnesium. Magnesium eases cramps. Calcium. My hair mineral analysis showed toomuch calcium compared to magnesium. Can this be something to look further into?My serum magnesium is always in the top or over the top range. My serum calcium is alsopretty much always near the top or over the top of the range.
