Guest guest
I will post my electrolyte results again. These are from December 30th 2009, when I wasat the ER.Sodium 138 (137-145)Potassium 3.9 (3.6-4.6)Chloride 100 (100-110)I had been drinking approx. 1 tea spoon of sea salt daily before this. I am worried thatI don't get an even addition of electrolytes. Why is Chloride so low??? It has never beenhigher than 104, looking at my blood sample log. It usually stays around 102, and now,100. Maybe my Chloride and Potassium are sinking when I take sea salt? I take 100%natural, organic sea salt from France. It's grey and looks "dirty". So it should be perfect!Should I eat a banana daily to get that Potassium up, and are CRAMPS a result of tooLOW Potassium, or even Chloride? And how fast do the electrolytes chance? Like, if Ieat a banana today, how will my electrolytes look tomorrow?Subject: Re: Re: Help - Heart just started beating VERY slowly and IRREGULARLYTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, January 7, 2010, 1:33 PM Potassium is often associated wiht muscle cramps, How was yours on last testing? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthet hyroidmadness. com/ http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ NaturalThyroidHo rmonesADRENALS/ http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/ http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
If your calcium is over the top, I would be getting parathyroid checked, since that is often connected to with high serum calcium. Guest guest
Elenctrolytes 101 with ! Thank you for guiding me! I love to learn about this!.... As for my current Potassium level - I did check it AGAIN yesterday, the results willcome in tomorrow! It will be interesting to see if the level is still 3.9, it should be, causeI really haven't changed anything in my diet since my last electrolyte bloodwork was doneon the 30th of December 2009!The interesting part, for me, is that my Potassium seems to change quite fast! Not morethan 2 weeks ago, on the 16th of December, my Potassium was at 4.3. That's why I amwondering, and asking you, WHY is Potassium changing so fast when I don't changewhat I eat? The only thing I change up and down is bananas. They have a lot of potassium.I think I avoided eating bananas after seeing my Potassium at 4.3. The range is 3.6 to4.6. I doubt I need to take potassium as a prescribed supplement??? I don't evenunderstand why I need to take potassium as any supplement at all - Is it becauseI am drinking sea salt? Is that why my potassium is sinking? I eat vegetables withpotassium in them. Tomatoes. I do eat a pretty varied diet, but also pretty much thesame things every day. Til the point I get sick of all the food I am eating. It's alwayssteak, cottage cheese, carrots, apples, water with sea salt, a little orange juice with myiron, repeat repeat repeat. No sauces. I really try to eat SIMPLE, you know? Like thecave-man diet. It should be the best diet for anyone! But it's a depressing one afterbeing able to eat all the tasty BS food out there, which I love! :)I have constant air hunger now. It's quite scary. Didn't fall asleep til 5+ am this morning. :(Subject: Re: Re: Help - Heart just started beating VERY slowly and IRREGULARLYTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, January 7, 2010, 2:57 PM Your potassium is veyr low as well so oyu DO need ot supplement it with the salt. Guest guest
Maybe too much calcium is the reason for my Hypothyroidism (Type 2) and the solereason why T3 is not entering the cells?I haven't checked PTH in a while, but it has been within the range, always. In January 2009, my PTH was at 1.8 (1.6-6.9). LOW. (And WHY was it low, btw?)Then, PTH was at 4.5 in JUNE!?!?!? Does that make ANY sense at all?Does a fluctuating PTH mean I have a PTH problem? Do I need to check PTH more often?I remember back in my mid teens, a doc commented that my calcium was over the toprange. They did the test again, and found a normal calcium. Seems to me like I mightme onto something here... Guest guest
So what do I do now? Can I just start taking a multivitamin (they always have 150-250 mcgiodine in them, is that OK?) or do I just eat more bananas?I hate having permament air hunger now.. Ah, Val, maybe I should raise my T3 today? It was 4 days since I downed my HC to 25 mg daily. Or should I wait til I see my newFerritin (although I didn't stop taking iron before the test was done) ... ?Subject: Re: Re: Help - Heart just started beating VERY slowly and IRREGULARLYTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, January 7, 2010, 3:38 PM Salt uses potassium ot get it into the cells so when you rais salt it will lower potasisum by moving it into the cells. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthet hyroidmadness. com/ http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ NaturalThyroidHo rmonesADRENALS/ http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/ http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
NO You do not want extra iodine you want straight potasisum. If your doc wil not prescribe for oyu or you cannot buy regular potassium supplements which may not be enough to help anyway,. you wil need ot order form Canada. Guest guest
Does low potassium give cramps in the chest muscles? And what if I start taking apotassium supplement that has about 100 mg potassium in it? Like:http://www.iherb.com/Source-Naturals-Potassium-99-mg-250-Tablets/1331?at=0I read online that if you wrap that tight band around your arm when taking a blood sample, the potassium result can be falsely high because of this. 98% of potassium is also withinthe cells, so what you see in the blood is not the real potassium value on your body anyway.Only a spectrometic measurement of the Full Blood will give the Real potassium result inyour body. Now where do I to this test. . . I would like to take a test like that for ALL myminerals, electrolytes and so on.It's scary to think about.. What if potassium within the cells are VERY low!!! Guest guest
Speaking of false potassium levels after wrongful method of taking the blood (too tight wraparound the arm, there should be none when measuring it!) - Can I low potassium resultstill mean I have TOO MUCH potassium in the cells, or does it just work the other wayaround, like a low result can only mean THAT low result or even Lower than what you see?
