Pam,

I know because of lining problems in the past this may seem more believable,

but there's no way to know who's measurements are more accurate! And either

way, you have a few days to go and therefore it has time to grow, grow, grow.

And, let me tell you, no activity is great - I'd love to leave the house!

This way you can still get out and about, but not have to do housework!

The no activity is cool. I can go were I want and I don't have to do

anything. When I drop something I tell my dh I can't bend over to

pick it up. LOL!!

The mock transfer gives them a map to your uterus. My dh wants us to

name the 10 embies. I will wait to hear there recommendation but I am

leaning towards putting back 3. My retrieval and transfer were done

at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. I was born one town over in

Brookline and my sister and brother were born at a hospital one

street over from B & W. I told the nurse that and that it was so cool

that my baby was conceived at B & W. It is cool to think we have these

little embies waiting for us.

I can't wait for you to start. It seems like so long ago that I took

all those injections. I did the suppositories with my last IUI. I

found after a couple of days I was very itchy. These you keep in the

fridge. I used Crinone w/my ep and it was all over the place.

Pam,

It's amazing how differently things are done from office to office! I think

the only real purpose of the mock transfer is to measure how far up to

insert the catheter (so it doesn't matter if it's done before or the day of

transfer). It kind of seems silly to do it earlier, especially if the

person doesn't go through with IVF.

Are you nervous/excited/anxious about the transfer? I think I would be such

a jumble of emotions! I still can't believe you had 17 eggs! And that 10

fertilized!!! That is so wonderful!!! Hope you guys wanted a few extra

kids! It's kind of wierd to think your future child is sitting around in a

Petri dish somewhere! Everytime I walk into my doctor's lab I think, this

is where our child will be conceived! It's so strange! But I'm really glad

it's possible.

It sounds kind of funny, but I really didn't mind the suppositories; I felt

like I was doing something for my baby, so it was okay. It gave me time

during the day to forget about work and just " be " with my baby - it was

nice.

I can't believe you've been going through this since 8/99, I don't know how

you've handled it all! You really deserve this baby!!! I'm so excited for

you and just want everything to turn out perfectly.

**Hey, how do you feel about twins? Just a thought...**

When I read all the stories about methotrexate, I'm really happy I had the

surgery. I don't know which is better, I guess there's good and bad points

to each. I haven't had to experience the wait for HcG to go to zero so I

can say it's nice to be able to jump right into IVF. Sometimes I wonder if

I'm really ready for it, I try not to think and am just going with it.

I hope Wednesday comes real quickly for you.

Pam,

That sounds so cute to name the embies! But how would you know which is

which? Atleast he's excited, that's so great!!! If my dh was here I

probably would have strangled him about 20 minutes ago. He just called from

work to tell me that he's going to pick up the bathroom vanity top tonight,

and that he wouldn't be home till late. I about had a heart attack - all

I've thought about it our meeting tonight, and he's concerned about a

bathroom countertop! I guess that's one of the differences between men and

women!!! I have to say, he was a little embarrassed when I told him, I guess

that makes up for it.

I agree with you about putting back 3 embies. I've been thinking about this

alot. At first I felt I only wanted to implant 2, but after talking to so

many people I'd like to increase the odds with 3 (though you do increase the

chance of twins also).

That's so nice that your babies were conceived near where you were born!

How many children do you and dh want? It must be such a wonderful feeling

to know that you won't have to go through those injections again!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. It really helps to know what

you're going through. I think I would have been more nervous/afraid

otherwise, I'm still nervous, but it's different. I think, " oh, that's what

Pam was talking about.... " Hopefully, 3-4 weeks from now, I'll be able to

say how many eggs fertilized!!!

How are you doing with the hyperstimulation? Did you hyperstimulate? I

hope you're okay!

I didn't have a problem with the Crinone. The days I wasn't able to stay

still for an hour, I did notice that it dripped out and made a mess. Was it

the Crinone you put in the fridge, or something else? I couldn't imagine

putting something that cold in, that definitely wouldn't be comfortable!

Good luck tonight at your appt. I have had my dh forget about my dr

appt to. I guess if he doesn't care that I make all the decissions.

We really want two kids. But I know I will never go through all this

IF crap again.

My dh was joking that we could have them number our embies so we

would know who is who. I am not using Crinone its something else.

They really aren't cold. When I took Crinone it was in a tampon type

tube and you squirted it in so to speak. This is this small bullet

shaped hard thing that you just stick in.

I'm glad I could help you out. Let me know tomorrow if you have any

other questions.

Pam,

I know it's early, but today I am having fairly bad cramping, just like AF. I

just hate this!! But I won't give up, if not this month then next. It just

seems like all my symptoms (if you can call them that) are showing up

(although a couple of days early) and it just seems like the same thing I go

through month after month. I have this calendar that I record daily all my

symptoms and things like cp and cm, and so far it matches every other failed

cycle :( but until the ole hag shows up, I hang on to my shred of hope.

Pam,

Did you do the subcutaneous injections in the thigh or stomach (Fertinex,

Follistim, gonal)? My instructions say I can do this one myself, but I

think it would be better if dh did it. He wouldn't hesitate like I would.

Thinking of injecting directly into the stomach makes me squimish, but if

it's better I'll do it.

I haven't had a chance to call the office yet. I wanted to check messages

before jumping in the shower because I'm really worried about and

wanted to see if she posted. I spoke to her at 9:00 and she was going to

the doctor's. I hope she's okay!

The social worker does ask you about those kinds of things. But I

think it would be okay. I have been to a therapist for IF about 3-4

times and didn't mention it. I don't go on a regular basis. I think

they are looking more at people who has real problems and illnesses.

Where I think it would be perfectly normal due to the circumstances

to get counseling.

Thanks for the +++++++++++thoughts.
