Re: (unknown)

Thast's for sure, nne. I lost my father when I was seven, my closest sister when I was 42 and my Mom when I was 61. I feel so lonely at times that I want to call my sons.....and since they call me only once or twice a month......I can call, but I don't want to be an intrusive Motherinlaw.... as I had one of those running my life for thirteen years. I have found so many close friends who are widowed like me, and they are so important and take care of me, as I have done for them.

You are lucky to have someone check on you...only 4 months after I had my operation I lost my mom. and was living alone at the time.....some of her friends took me to chemo...and I was still working...the week I had chemo... someone took me to chemo and the on Mondays every 3 weeks...the rest of the week I was by myself...really did not have anyone check on me... Was going to church at the time and people would ask me how I was doing...did not have much support from people at work...and notmany friends... Betsy (NC) Note: forwarded message attached.

Has anyone experienced discomfort from extra skin left under your arm after a mastectomy?. Was left in case reconstruction was wanted ( had asked not to do that but didn't listen). Now the full feeling has come back and now discomfort has set in. Thinking of having it removed - not sure if I would need a plastic surgeon or neurologist - want the scar in a good position for wearing bra. Any advise would be helpful - thanks - Fran

Doctors get thier thyroid training from Abbot Pharmaceuticals. HUGE

grants form that company insure their loyalty to THEIR products, Guess

what they make? Synthroid. If you read eveyr inser6t on ALL thyroid meds

including Synthroid it says it shoudl not be taking wiht UNCORRECTED

adrenal insufficiency but then tit does not say WHTA adrenal

insufficiency actiually IS., so these same idiot doctors that read thi

assume AM coritl must be below range fo ti to be insufficient. bottom of

that range is 4 and in the AM at 4 you are near death from AI.

>I am impressed!

>Now.. This only makes me wonder why NO doctors or endos are willing to give

T3-only to anyone, and almost no (or very few) docs/endos will add T3 to T4 in a

combo-treatment. I know this for a fact. This is true for the whole world.

Welcome to the club. The state of knowledge of Drs and Endos who are

not hypo themselves is scary.

That lot was on a packet insert that someone posted a link to on line

last summer.

You sound from the tone of your e-mails like the brain fog is lifting

a little today and you are thinking better?

Val, I could never wrap my head around this one. Indeed the package insert says it is contraindicated in patients with adrenal insufficiency. My morning blood levels of cortisol have consistently been 7 to 8 and that moron of an endo doped me with high doses of synthroid. WHAT was he THINKING!!!! If cortisol levels of 8 is not low, at 9 in the morning, then WHAT pray tell is LOW????? these docs should be pinned to the wall until they can give a plausible answer!

Welcome, !Glad to have you aboard.I think that getting rid of dieting is challenging indeed, because we can't just outlaw food. On the plus side, eating isn't an addiction, since we need to eat to live, so I think it's easier, or at least possible, to have a healthy balance with it, whereas it's hard to imagine a healthy relationship with cigarettes.

Still, quitting smoking is tremendously difficult, so I think if you could pull that off, you are clearly a strong and determined person! So I'm sure you will make good progress with the ending of dieting, if you continue to feel committed to that goal.

I hope we can be here to help you along the way.Best,Abby

As someone who has been professionally dieting for the past 32 years i am hoping to finally STOP! I want to rid myself of constantly thinking about food and weight. I quit smoking two years ago and thought that would be the hardest thing i would ever accomplish. However, I really believe that freeing myself of this issue will actually be tremendously more difficult.

I am hoping to find the support and encouragement to meet this last personal goal.

I have been thinking about nutrition myself and am thinking about limiting sugar. I don't think of it as restricting at all. If I decide to have some sugar that is okay but I know that I don't feel as good when I eat a bunch of sugar so I am going to limit it. There is nothing wrong with that. There are also other things that I avoid eatting and I feel better for it. I don't think that is going against IE because we are doing it for the right reasons and we are still listening to our bodies. It is not a diet. We are listening to what our bodies are telling us and they are telling us that these types of food make us feel bad. That is what IE is all about , right? Be blessed, ~DawnC~

So, I have a question for everyone. About a month ago I realized that I was doing a LOT of stress eating (finishing up masters and working full time) and I had a lot of work plus some crazy roomates I had to kick out my home... but anyway.....

I started eating low carb-vegetarian. At first I really really craved white flour and sugar. I made some changes in how I eat increasing protein veggies, fruits, etc. And once the cravings left, I actually feel much much better. I feel my energy as more even and I feel more vibrant as well as stuff becoming looser, though weight wasnt the goal I just felt like my choices were being led by emotional/ stress related issues rather than that what my body needs. Im not hungry, I just shifted from donuts, cookies, carbs to nuts, more fruit veggies, more tofu, etc.

But, I also feel guilty about it... like I am not following IE practices because it is a concious approach. But at the same time, I dont know... I feel better. So I guess I wanted to share that with everyone and see what you thought. I mean, if I had the thought, all the sudden, hey less carbs more protein more veggies, is that not also intuitive? How do we know if our thoughts are coming from within or being influenced by without? Because I am denying myself (though not all the time) certain things and I denied my cravings but now feel better for it.

What do you think? Im awfully confused!
