, Keep in mind that this is not a quick weight loss diet.... if you

lose 10 pounds and don't follow the plan... you will gain it back with

interest!!! No fruit is allowed during the induction period. I would

highly recommend that you read the full book prior to starting..... Good

luck on your decision to lose the weight!!!

Hi Michele,

Welcome to the Atkin's Way of Life list. Don't you just love to hate

scales? They can make or break our day in a heart beat. Personally I wish

there could be an easier and less guilt ridden way of tracking a person's

weight but there really isn't. You sound like you are doing things right and

it should be no time at all before you begin to see your losses mount up no

matter what starting weight you started with. All you will care about is how

great you will look. Keep working hard and keep posting!!

Hi everyone!

I just started the Atkins way of life on monday, doing great, feeling

great! Very happy to have found this list! I used to be on Atkins, lost

32 lbs, and then lost sight of my dream. But like the name says, it is a

way of life and am now working toward that goal!

I'm 37, mother of twin 14 year old girls, massage therapist and certfied

aromatherapist...how's that for starters?? :-)

Take care!

Hi Linden,

Hey thats a great loss. Wish I could do that. But I'm an older lady and

everything including me has slowed down. I'm such a slow loser, always have

been. Maybe I'll get to what I want to be by the time I'm 90. LOL You keep up

the good work and take it for what it;s worth, " LOSE THAT WEIGHT WHILE YOU

ARE YOUNG " You can do it.

Me too! I started 2 days ago, but I just bought the book today. I figure if

I'm going to do it, I better read it over and know exactly what I'm getting

into. :) It has been a hard couple of days, not to bad though, just a

little hungry and craving carbs and sugar. I may be a little hungry because

I ate too many carbs?? I am starting to understand the counting, now that I

have the book. Anyone else experience this?

I meant to say " after being on the diet for the FIRST week, I haven't had

any heartburn since " and it's been just over a month. Sorry if that was

confusing.

Hi Sue,

I am Polly. I have just started the Atkins diet on Saturday and have

a 5 pound loss. I am very pleased and thrilled with the food that is

available. In fact I don't feel at all like I am on a diet. I want to

lose 85 - 90 lbs, so I have a way to go and feel confident I can do

it.

Best,

Polly

Sue,

Did you post this recipe? I may have missed it while

I was away or because of my computer problems. I

would love to have it.

I started the low carb diet a week ago. The best part is not really wanting

any of that stuff.. In January I quit eating sweets,,, you know the 3 c's..

candy, cookies, cakes...etc.. I've always worked out - moderate cardio... I

was surprised when nothing drastic happened in my weight when I cut out

those sweets. I had heard every once in awhile people talk about the low

carb woe but I didn't think I could ever do it.. I love (d) bagels... and

how could go without my morning routine of something toasted.. Last Wed... I

tried and started after I researched some on the web.. I ordered the book..

I received the book Saturday, then found out I was suppose to wait to

start,, but I don't really have to lose that much weight.. 20 - 30 lbs.

I've probably modified the induction part a bit more than I should. And I

haven't eaten red meats in 20 years -- I'm not about to add that to my

diet. I 've found celery and cream cheese an interesting/satisfying snack.

It's interesting about snacking. It's so much easier to stop -- not like

when I use to munch on cereal or harvest grain chips.

well that's a little about me and this low carb eating.

Dear Sue:

Hi, my name is Faye. I am a private Nanny. I live in Austin, TX. I am

48, married and have 5 grandchildren. I need to lose 40 to 50 pounds! Right

now I weigh 191 pounds, down from 207 in May.

I am a total newbie or even a wannabe. I have the Atkins tape but I am

not

so sure yet. I would know better if real people(ha) will share their stories.

I

do have the ketostix ready, but haven't taken the plunge. Maybe this group

will

spur me on. Thanks,

Faye
