Welcome to the list Marcia!!!! You've come to the right place. If you've

been on the diet for four days, you should hopefully be about past some of

the worst of the cravings. The nice thing about this WOE (way of eating) is

that the ketosis it causes helps to depress the appetite and prevent

cravings. You should be getting into ketosis by now. Keep up the good

work!!!! How much would you like to lose? Ask away about anything you need

to know and someone here will surely be able to answer your questions.

Hi - I am new to this list. I was wondering if I should get the Atkins Diet

book. I joined this list after searching " protein diet " . I have read a few

notes and it seems that alot of you are having great success! I have approx.

60 lbs. to loose. I definately crave carbs and my sister has been on a

mostly protein diet, and has had great success. She is basically on her own

diet, low low carbs, mostly protein, eggs, turkey, chicken, string cheese and

salad with veggies. I am starting tomorrow on this routine and have already

made a chicken salad with egg, feta, tomatos, and various mixed greens. I

also packed some raw almonds, string cheese and another hard boiled egg as my

mid morning breakfast. Planning mostly a protein dinners, with veggies. Am

I on the right track? Would this book help me? Is there a certain breakdown

of carb, protein, fat grams I should try to follow. HELP!!

I look forward to all you expertise on this subject!!

Thank you.

Mia,

Yes definately buy a book, it doesn't have to be Atkins, it can be Protien

Power or any other low-carb diet books. Welocme to the list!! Sounds like

your first day is fine, omit the tomato, it is higher in carbs.

Hugs,

Penny

Hi Everyone...My name is and I am starting the Atkins (again)

TOMORROW! I haven't had much success before with it because I didn't have

a support system of other Atkins people around me with inspiring stories to

tell and recipes to share!

I have approx 70 pounds to lose. Those of you with experience...how long

do you think it will take me to take off 70 pounds?

I am also looking for a GOOD recipe for protein bread. I tried the recipe

in the Atkins book and I have to say it was AWFUL!

I look forward to talking to you all and sharing our successes together!

Hello !!

My name is Deb and I am just getting started on the Atkins Diet. I am 40

years old, married to a wonderful man, and we have 4 children (14/g, 12/b,

5/g/, 3/b). I weighed 246 when I started last tuesday, today I weigh 237 (on

Monday).

I started a week ago, and have so far lost 9 lbs. I am still on the

Induction Diet, but will start to increase my carbs 5g a week, next week. I

guess I am not a bad metabolic resistor if I can lose 9 lbs the first week.

I hope I can keep this up. There is chocolate cake sitting on the counter I

have not yet touched. I have to save it for company tomorrow night, but

then, OUT IT GOES !!! If I can resist it till then, I know this is working

for me. I had bacon and eggs around 10:30 am and am still not hungry and it

is 3 pm now. I am hoping to broil a london broil and make a salad for

dinner. I will bake potatoes for the rest of my family.

looking forward to hear how all of you are doing :)

Deb,

Welcome to the list!!! Sounds like your up and running!! One warning though,

Make sure your eating enough calories. If you don't eat more than 1200 then

your body goes into starvation mode and saves the fat.

Hugs,

Penny

Wow Deb, that is really a great start. I am starting tomorrow

morning and I hope I can do well too. I don't know where to get the

Ketostix yet. I'll have to start without them. We kind of live in

the boonies.

Anyone, can I buy Ketostix online?

Anyway, you're a brave soul having to have cake sitting on the

counter. Feeding pasta & potatoes to my family will be my hardship.
