You should call the triage nurse at the hospital and ask her what to do, or call the Dr in the morning. Sorry you are having problems

Have you maybe been using it too much? Did the doctor give you exercise to do like take your fingers and crawl the wall? I would definitely call him today and let him know you are in a lot of pain. You are in my prayers.

My arm is so sore and tight.........and swollen......what can I do to relieve it? I sill have the drain in.....the muscle seems so tight..my neck and shoulder sore.... :-((((((..I have been using it....but I have NO idea what else to do....

All she said was use it.......and I had heard about all of the bad things happening.so I have tried to keep it going...maybe I have been trying to much...I am calling the nurse and have her come and check it today..I havent seen them only 2 times since the surgery.I go see my dr tomorrow......I can't get with in once inch from my skin under my arm .it hurts so bad....I am trying so hard not to be a boob.....I fixed dinner yesterday and brownies........I did have my hubby go to the store...I would have if not having this ugly drain....it felt good to do something....

Oh I was craving chocolate....LOL

I only have 3 pain pills left and have been trying to only use them when I really need them...I read how this is not to hurt......taking out the nodes......but sure have..........so I think I am being just to sensitive and not really having that much pain......I dont now what Im doing..LOL

Ty for your answer and telling me about crawling the wall.....Ive been doing , muscle flexing and rotations with my arm.........small ones...

Hold your arm up as far as you can and massage (very very gently) from finger tips as far to shoulder as you can and gently pull accross the chest to the other side....the fluids are collecting in your arm....I forgot did you have lymph nodes removed....the lymph nodes is what gets rid of the fluids and if you had any removed the fluids stay in the arm....this is what the lymphodema nurse had me to do and gave me a lot of exercises to do but have lost my sheet....but the best bet is to check with your doc or his nurse.....Angel Huggs and Prayers Judy G wrote:

I am getting only 20cc every eight hours....so it is ready to come out.....but like Ive seen others say..I have 3 boobs now.....anyone want one>

I just talked to my home nurse.....I keep the drain in...... :-(((((

I need to go 24 hours at 20 cc.....not eight...... :-((((

She is sending out a therapist when I get my drain out....so I am still getting a lot of draining..... :-( I want to cry....i need a showerrrrrrrr.

not a spit bath....

Judy, as much as you hate the drain, you don't want them to take it out

too soon. After my 2nd mastectomy, the drain was removed after a week

and I filled up with so much fluid it looked like I had grown a new

boob below the incision and had to have it drained with a needle and

syringe 2 times....not fun! I was allowed to shower 2 days after

surgery. I covered the incision area with saran wrap held on with

surgical tape and made a necklace of gauze to hold my drain while I
