Hi Ruth Ann,

My wife and I are from Louisiana and are searching for

docs that perform UAE. May we ask where exactly you

found the list of docs that perform this procedure.

Thanks so very much,

and Brent

Hi Sky,

I read your post and it put a smile on my face. My

wife and I are in Louisiana. Do you mean that there

is a physician in the Texas are that performs UAE? I

am 36 and my wife is 42 and this week has not been a

good one since we found out about her large fibroid

growing inside of her uterus.

Any information would be so appreciated.

Thanks,

and Brent

Thanks,

and Brent

Thanks,

and Brent

Hi Brent and ,

Sorry, I think I replied to you on someone elses

email.

You asked about UAE, you also mentioned that you and

your wife are trying to conceive. I have been given

info on UAE and to my knowledge myomectomy is still

the procedure of choice if you are trying to conceive.

However, some have been known to conceive with the UAE

procedure but myomectomy is still the standard for

maintaining fertility. UAE is a procedure that cuts

off the blood supply to the fibroids, the reason a UAE

procedure would be suggested verses a myomectomy is

because your Doc. feels that a myomectomy wouldn't be

successful, but again, myomectomy is the standard in

maintaining fertility. Best of Luck, Sky

SKY,

Hi! Thank you for your reply. It is nice to know there is someone else

close by whom I can share my experience, thoughts, feelings, and fears with.

I am glad to find a fellow Texan and what's more we both live in the Dallas

Area. I actualy live in Mansfield which is just South of Arlington. You

mentioned your doc was in . Is that where you are? You also

mentioned that your doc was a fertility specialist but you are looking for

another in this area. Do you not feel comfortable with or trusting of this

doc because he/she mentioned the options of UAE and Albo? Who is he or she?

The more I hear and learn about UF, the luckier I feel that I was able to

start my family early, before I developed UFs. I have been doing some

research on the web regarding UFs and have come across some sites regarding

UF's and fertility. I am afraid I didn't pay as much attention to them as I

have had me children all ready. But I will try to find them again and let

you know about them when I do. Who knows maybe there will be an answer in

one of them for you. I wish you all the best. Keep in touch and I will do

same. Take care.

Hi Sky,

THanks for the reply. The concern is that her fibroid

is so large that they may damage the uterus during the

myomectomy and have to remove the uterus. We do plan

on educating ourselves on both procedures though.

So, where in Texas are you and where exactly are there

physicians that perform the UAE procedures.

Thanks so much,

and Brent

Thanks so much,

and Brent

Perhaps you and your wife should seek a second opinion with an RE

(Reproductive Endocrinologist). An RE is a specialist in infertility

whose goal is to preserve the uterus and fertility. I had a 13.7cm

fibroid removed through a myomectomy in Oct. I am not interested in

having any more children, but my surgeon is an RE. He believes that

no fibroid is too big to remove by myomectomy.

Best of luck to you.
