Why do you think the potential for a baby is not good? Is it because of your

AIH or something else?

Hello

I have got many options about having children, and only one sounded

possible, but a little freighting due to it's context.

Being on this drugs could cause damage to the baby, I could go off them,

but that could cause serious damage to me!. If I new that I could

prevent a child coming in to this world with a disabled I would. I'm

not saying individuals who are disabled do not have value, just I work

with people who have disabilities and do not think I'm a strong enough

person to take that responsibility, being it is a life time job! I've

been thinking of maybe adopting.

And the first year of aih I develop to cysts, and I know I had 2

ovaries before aih, last ultra sound they said they were having trouble,

or could not see the left one and that the cysts were just sitting

there???

I have a appointment in Dec with a specialist due to these cysts have

been there for almost 2 years, they believe they are not cancer. (but)!

So all ask the doc about pregnancy and me!!

Dear :

I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 26 years old, but when I was 30 I was

blessed with a beautiful baby girl through adoption. She's now 8 years old

and the joy of my life. There is always hope!

Can't you be on the prednisone only and that be safe for a baby? At least

that's what my doctors have told me.

Hello

In my case neither of them said that I could do that, the opion when I

was ready, I'd have to have normal test, got talk to them and they would

all sit down and plan the best time etc.. to conceive and the meds,

unforantally predisone stopped working for me. so I'm looking now at

entocort and pregnancy. All know more in December. The next question

would be do I have the energy????

HI :

When I was pregnant I was taking 10 mg of Prednisone only. I had an

uneventful pregnancy and actually never felt better. My LFT's were normal.

Unfortunately, I had complications on the day I went into labor and had a

massive esophogeal bleed and nearly died. Sadly, my daughter died.

Thanks Sue. . . He just had his DPT shots 3 weeks ago. That wouldn't cause

bleeding in your brain though, would it?

That's also one the problems with shots - they cause a million different

problems. And you never know which one your child will get because each

child will react differently.

Michele, That's just awful. All of us are praying for your family.

Unfortunately, I think it is possible that the DPT shot could cause bleeding

in the brain, although off the top of my head I don't know it to be so.

It's known to cause encephalopathy - brain inflammation - so it seems that

it could. If and when I get a chance to research this for you, I will.

Unfortunately, as you are probably well aware, not many meaningful,

fairminded studies are being conducted.

Please let us known how things go. Sandy

It can cause the lining around the brain to swell, it can cause SIDS, so why

would it not cause bleeding?

He also could have had a seizure from it and it not been detected. Seizures

in baby's look very different from in adults. Israel's first one he

just held a leg out straight for a few seconds and a nurse just happened to

walk by.

The brain is smaller than the skull cavity and will beat against the inside

of the skull bones during a seizure and thereby cause bleeding.

The brain will usually over heal itself from this and enlarge the ventricles

(holes in the brain) thereby causing microcephaly or small brain. This

usually results in some form of cerebral palsy.

Oh, I " m not doubting it at all, I just wondered how it would work, is all. .

.. but he has cried and cried and cried ever since he was born; they had

told her it was colic all along. I think he has had this problem since he

was born.

This sounds like my Israel. Has he had any episodes of strange

behavior such as staring for a few seconds to minutes? holding any one limb

straight or limp? eyes rolling? Does he hold his thumb inside when he makes

a fist? (this is a sign of brain damage) Did he need oxygen when born? Did

she have any sort of trauma, emotional or physical during the pregnancy? Was

he slow at meeting milestones at all?

Any of these things can point to brain damage even being in a car in a car

seat and the brakes being slammed on hard could cause this type of bleed.

Let me know and we can take this off list if preferred.

shot was the *last straw* so to speak. I missed the initial post. What

happened- is in the hospital?

The only symptoms he had were that he was throwing up, and was very

lethargic. The doctors just thought he was dehydrated at first. I mean,

who would even think he had been shaken?! :( How could someone do

this?! It breaks my heart. I pray that he will not be brain-damaged from

this.
