I think if we wanted to represent 4s, then the superman idea might work. However, I think most people are learning of this disorder as "misophonia".Here's one possible image:Or maybe we should just stick with words?> > > > > >> > > > > > Hi ,> > > > > > YOU ARE SUPERMAN, no doubt about it. This may be a stupid question... I know " google it " has become a phrase that is commonly used.. BUT since Google is a company and all, can we legally put " Google it " on a shirt and then make money off of it? I would think that would break some kind of copyright rule?

Good question. Any lawyers out there? If it's verboten, we could say:"Misophonia--- Look it up."

Another Tshirt graphic idea is to use the illustration from the NYTimes story.

Orange and yellow with gum being chewed in the ear. They might allow the rights

to the illustration to be used for free if it is a good cause.

Another Tshirt graphic idea is to use the illustration from the NYTimes story.

Orange and yellow with gum being chewed in the ear. They might allow the rights

to the illustration to be used for free if it is a good cause.

That is a good point, I am not sure but hopefully someone on here can answer that one.I like it though

This may be a stupid question... I know " google it " has become a phrase that is commonly used.. BUT since Google is a company and all, can we legally put " Google it " on a shirt and then make money off of it? I would think that would break some kind of copyright rule?

You're right!!! We need to be careful of the names in the verbiage.

The Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary states the google is a verb, but

Google doesn't want people to use their company name no matter if it's upper

cased or lower cased, unless you are specifically talking about Google Inc.

I think we should avoid saying " google it "

Look it up! is a good alternative to Google it!

My concern is providing something simple AND self-explanatory. If I did not

suffer from this, and I saw a t-shirt with a word I didn't understand, it's very

unlikely I would look it up -- maybe it's just me.

If this were better known, or more people suffered (maybe they do and don't know

it), then we could get away with being coy and mysterious.

But I think our goal is to educate. Only with education does awareness happen.

And even though Adah is probably right that our audience is doctors, researchers

and the like. Many doctors learn about things from their patients from ads on

TV. So our audience is really everyone.

So I personally believe whatever is chosen should hit on these levels:

• it's a hearing issue

• it's different than loud-sound-discomfort

• it needs to be researched

How about the crippled superman covering his ears to communicate it is a sound

issue. His kryptonite is someone eating a bag of movie popcorn to communicate

it is soft sounds. And the tag line reads, " Misophonia ... Stronger than MY

thought ... Please Research " .

What about Misophonia... Can't get around it....

Verbiage encircling our image?

To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Tue, January 10, 2012 10:02:16 AMSubject: Re: Raising Money & Awareness - Through a Tee. Ideas?!

Look it up! is a good alternative to Google it!My concern is providing something simple AND self-explanatory. If I did not suffer from this, and I saw a t-shirt with a word I didn't understand, it's very unlikely I would look it up -- maybe it's just me.If this were better known, or more people suffered (maybe they do and don't know it), then we could get away with being coy and mysterious. But I think our goal is to educate. Only with education does awareness happen. And even though Adah is probably right that our audience is doctors, researchers and the like. Many doctors learn about things from their patients from ads on TV. So our audience is really everyone. So I personally believe whatever is chosen should hit on these levels: • it's a hearing issue• it's different than loud-sound-discomfort• it needs to be researched> >> > > > > > >> >> > > > > > > Hi ,> >> > > > > > > YOU ARE SUPERMAN, no doubt about it. I think that referring to it as a hearing issue is like saying Tourettes is a

speaking issue. It's a neurological disorder and that sounds sexier than

hearing issue anyway :).

Someone posted an exceptional picture of a man with " sound bursts " all around

him. He had his hands over his ears. Did you see that one? It was extremely

well done and very descriptive. I think if we use that one our verbiage can be

abbreviated, concise and powerful.
