I think it may be a matter of not being engaged with our own

bodies.  I know if I get up in the morning and it is cold and I

dress warmly, if it comes out warm - even if it gets over 30C - I

probably won't notice i need to remove any clothes.  I have also

been known to dress for warm weather and then need reminding (this

is why we have mothers and wives :) ) to put something else on.  I

don't always notice small things that cause pain.  I am just focused

on other things.  My son is much the same.  But when it comes to

emotional or mental discomfort - that is another thing!  My son

cried almost constantly if not being held for the first 10 months of

his life.  But after that, if he fell over, sometimes he cried,

sometimes he didn't.  Usually not much at all - nothing like from

the distress of not being held.  He took years to learn to put out

his hands to break his fall, but even when he put his teeth through

his lips and there was blood everywhere, it was more a whimper than

a cry.  The only time he really cried was if he couldn't see me when

it happened.  Once I was there, it was fine.

Strange thing is, if I cut my nails and there is even the slightest

'catch' on anything it drives me mad.  My wife has often commented I

fuss over my nails worse than any woman.  It's just that if they are

not smooth, then any contact with anything is like fingernails

screeching on a blackboard.  Did anyone else have a teacher who did

that to get attention?  Not sure how I survived a year without

getting up and hitting her hard.  Maybe because I was only 7 at the

time :)

Just piggy-backing on what

said- my son with Asperger's has an incredibly high

tolerance for pain. He's now 10. If he cried (as a baby,

toddler, or even now) we knew it was very bad... usually

involving blood or worse. It's bizarre the level of pain

he can handle!!

Yep - just goes to prove we are all different.  Sometimes I comment

that a new commercial is good, only to be told it has been on

multiple times a day for weeks.

that's funny because all three of my kids can

be hyper focused on the tv but once the commercial

comes on they are up my butt!!

for all kids.  My daughter is not on the

shows, any TV.

Pursue an evaluation, because you are

concerned.  But remember that just like you

know that Colton making eye contact doesn't

rule out autism, neither does stimming or

having meltdowns automatically rule in autism.

There are so many factors to consider, and a

whole DSM-IV qualification to meet. A good

evaluation will help sort it all out.

In the meantime, start doing what you would

do if he did have autism. You don't have to

wait for a diagnosis to do that.  Provide a

language rich environment.  If he is rocking

until he has sores, I would not let that

happen. Engage him in a different activity

when he starts rocking.  Play,  play, play. He

doesn't play with his toys? Teach him how!

Play along with him, show him how to use it.

Does he currently receive speech therapy? Ask

For starters, him coming to your house and saying what he did is a huge ethical

no-no. I would call the department back, and explain what he did.

Further explain that the reason you are looking for a diagnosis, is because you

know that in the long run, it will help your son, no matter what they think.

It's always tempting to think others with the same condition are

just like us, but anyway ... you might at some time want to check

out what is called 'face blindness'.  It has a medical name also,

but I can't remember it.  I stare at people because I am trying to

recognise them.  Classical face blindness is when you don't

recognise faces at all.  I can, but it takes time.  It is also much

easier if they in are their usual environment.  Usually I identify

someone from their voice or their clothing.  If it's someone I know

well - like my family - I can usually identify them if I look

closely for a minute or three.  If it turns out not to be them, that

can be somewhat embarrassing :)  I have realised I can't hold a

picture of a face in my mind for more than a second or two, and even

then it isn't clear.  I remember picking my mother up from the

airport after not seeing her for a couple of years and thinking "So,

that's what you look like.  You look much older than I expected".  I

have learnt not to express all my thoughts in words.

Well everyone

keeps telling me that he clearly can't have ASD

because of the eye contact. But I keep coming into

contact with people who have ASD or know someone that

does and they are telling me different. And one person

then pointed out the very extreme or intense eye

contact almost like he is starring you down isn't so

great either. And since I have had the baby, I have

been noticing the same things in him and I am

terrified. I don't wanna do this again. Only this time

the new baby is not nearly as happy as Colton was as a

baby. And Colton now has this new thing where he wants

to watch everything upside down, like all the time and

will walk bent over with his head on the floor. Its

kinda funny actually... And thank you I love it when

he smiles it's so contagious. :)

Well I really do try not to let him rock so much but it is literally so much

that there is no way to control even.a little bit of it. He rocks him self to

sleep at night in his crib. We wakes up in the middle of the night any where

between 1 and 4am and rocks for an hour or 2. And if I try to redirect his

attention he has a meltdown. Then the rocking gets violent. And if I try to hard

he attacks me. So I just let him do it most of the time. And I have 3 other

children and one will be 3 months old tomorrow. :/

Don't expect him to act like a 'normal' kid.  If he values the toys,

then you haven't wasted your money.  I learnt early to let my son

help pick things to buy.  I had to be blunt with family -

particularly my mother - in letting them know he would not use

something he did not like.  He did not care - and still doesn't -

that the item cost a lot of money, or that saying how little you

like it will hurt someone's feelings.  If his grandmother bought him

clothes he didn't like, they stayed in his wardrobe, and if she

asked what he thought of them, he told her.  It took me until I was

a teenager to do that.  But clothes didn't bother me.  As long as I

had some, colour, style, age, amount of dirt, nothing mattered.

I've been told I have good taste in clothes, but I just buy what I

like.  Since I have been married (25 years - my wife deserves a

medal or two) I have learnt not to wear my favorite T-shirt in

public after it reaches a certain degree of raggedness, but at home

I still dress for comfort.  Some of my favourite T-shirts predate

the birth of my son - he is 18 in November :)  I have also learnt

that pointing out that you don't get rid of your wife just because

she is showing signs of age is NOT a good argument for keeping

favourite T-shirts beyond their use by date  :)

No Colton doesn't talk. He babbles like a

little baby, but no real words. He talks to himself

almost constantly. And the rocking is all day and all

night. He has scars from rocking, on his back he has

like these lesion things from rocking against hard

surfaces and it wont ever heal cause he continues to

do it so often. I have been trying to get him to point

at stuff since before he was a year old. And I wish he

played normal with his toys seeing as how he has so

many of them. I feel like half the time we just waste

our money on toys because he doesn't play with them

instead he just carries them around the house in his

hand and/or throws them at people.

One

more thing.  He is darling!  And,

although in isolation, rocking and

spinning can be perfectly normal...if he

isn't talking...isn't pointing...doesn't

play appropiately with most

toys...doesn't reference....etc,

etc...he is on the spectrum.  Please

don't doubt yourself.  If I waited, my

So

for the last 7 weeks that

Coltons therapist has been

coming to see him he has

only showed up 3 times. He

is suppose to come once a

week for an hour. When he

cancels he texts me

minutes away from the

appt. time. Which I find

ridiculous. So I called

yesterday to have Early

Steps try and get me a

different Therapist. And

to have Colton tested for

ASD. And to get him into a

Gifted school. They accept

children that have

anything from

developmental delays to

Severe Retardation. And

you can start at 18 months

old. Everything went good

til today. When The old

Therapist comes to my

house and is like well can

you tell me why I'm not on

your case anymore? And I

calmly explained to him

that I need someone more

reliable. He mentioned

that I should not seek a

dx and that I should wait

a few years if I am told

to do so. And then he goes

on to talk about how

everyone at the office is

"talking" about "certain

parents" that only want

their child dx so they can

receive government

benefits. And said that

they don't say names cause

they aren't allowed to but

didn't think any of it was

about me. I in no way

shape or form want

anything from the

government only the right

kind of care for my child.

I am extremely hurt by

what he said. And Think

that you know maybe there

isn't anything wrong with

him. Maybe he's just weird

and quirky. I can't stop

thinking about it. I don't

know what to do. I am

really starting to

question if there is

anything wrong at all. :-/

And when he I try to play with him the right way with his toys he wants nothing

to do with me or the toy. Then throws another fit if I try to make him. Its all

so frustrating I feel like hes just throwing a fit all day, that seems to be

what he does the most.

Yes, your son is just 'weird and quirky'.  One of the medical terms

for that is 'autism'.  If a professional doesn't know that, they

should be looking for a new job.  Maybe someone who doesn't know

that early intervention is the key to helping most things should be

looking for a new job anyway.

Well I have never stopped getting him the help he needs. But now I gave to wait

for early steps to find a new provider for colton. She said they have 30 days to

do that. Hopefully it wont take that long. I guess I just want the dx so that I

know what to call his behavior..... I guess, idk.

------------------------------

>A diagnosis is useful for many things, but with or without a diagnosis you have

to focus on working to help him. The earlier this starts the better. But I

would insist on getting a diagnosis. You will meet many people who wish they

had gotten a diagnosis for their child/ren earlier - or for themselves - but I

have yet to meet someone who regretted getting one. Sometimes our own

reluctance (for many reasons, some of them very good reasons) to find out works

against us.

Yeah, I attached a picture of colton when he fell into the table. And he just

simply looked at me like what the hell is that table doing there? And walked

off. Coltons younger brother will be 3 months old tomorrow and I literally can

not put him down fir even a second or hes screaming his head off. Almost like

hes in pain its very strange and he has a milk allergy and hes got acid reflux,

so he has to sit up all the time.

------------------------------

>I think it may be a matter of not being engaged with our own bodies. I know if

I get up in the morning and it is cold and I dress warmly, if it comes out warm

- even if it gets over 30C - I probably won't notice i need to remove any

clothes. I have also been known to dress for warm weather and then need

reminding (this is why we have mothers and wives :) ) to put something else on.

I don't always notice small things that cause pain. I am just focused on other

things. My son is much the same. But when it comes to emotional or mental

discomfort - that is another thing! My son cried almost constantly if not being

held for the first 10 months of his life. But after that, if he fell over,

sometimes he cried, sometimes he didn't. Usually not much at all - nothing like

from the distress of not being held. He took years to learn to put out his

hands to break his fall, but even when he put his teeth through his lips and

there was blood everywhere, it

was more a whimper than a cry. The only time he really cried was if he

couldn't see me when it happened. Once I was there, it was fine.

>

>Strange thing is, if I cut my nails and there is even the slightest 'catch' on

anything it drives me mad. My wife has often commented I fuss over my nails

worse than any woman. It's just that if they are not smooth, then any contact

with anything is like fingernails screeching on a blackboard. Did anyone else

have a teacher who did that to get attention? Not sure how I survived a year

without getting up and hitting her hard. Maybe because I was only 7 at the time

:)

I did call early steps and the lady in charge of our case was pretty upset. I

still get him all the therapy he needs but I guess I.just.want a dx so I know

what to call his behavior. Almost like closure I guess.

------------------------------

>For starters, him coming to your house and saying what he did is a huge ethical

no-no. I would call the department back, and explain what he did.

>

>Further explain that the reason you are looking for a diagnosis, is because you

know that in the long run, it will help your son, no matter what they think.

My son does the opposite(he is autistic). He rocks forward and sometimes bangs his head. He used to scream constantly. He has now calmed down to about half of the way he used to be(he is almost 6 now). Don't let others cloud your judgement. If you think something is wrong, get him tested. You are his mother and you decide what you want to do ..not them

So for the last 7 weeks that Coltons therapist has been coming to see him he has only showed up 3 times. He is suppose to come once a week for an hour. When he cancels he texts me minutes away from the appt. time. Which I find ridiculous. So I called yesterday to have Early Steps try and get me a different Therapist. And to have Colton tested for ASD. And to get him into a Gifted school. They accept children that have anything from developmental delays to Severe Retardation. And you can start at 18 months old. Yeah when he stares at people he looks at all of them not just their face. It's

almost like he stares at them as if they were deformed. No offense to anyone,

but you know how kids are. Its very strange. And several people have gotten

upset not that I care

------------------------------

>It's always tempting to think others with the same condition are just like us,

but anyway ... you might at some time want to check out what is called 'face

blindness'. It has a medical name also, but I can't remember it. I stare at

people because I am trying to recognise them. Classical face blindness is when

you don't recognise faces at all. I can, but it takes time. It is also much

easier if they in are their usual environment. Usually I identify someone from

their voice or their clothing. If it's someone I know well - like my family - I

can usually identify them if I look closely for a minute or three. If it turns

out not to be them, that can be somewhat embarrassing :) I have realised I

can't hold a picture of a face in my mind for more than a second or two, and

even then it isn't clear. I remember picking my mother up from the airport

after not seeing her for a couple of years and thinking " So, that's what you

look like. You look much

older than I expected " . I have learnt not to express all my thoughts in words.

>> Well everyone keeps telling me that he clearly can't have ASD because of the

eye contact. But I keep coming into contact with people who have ASD or know

someone that does and they are telling me different. And one person then pointed

out the very extreme or intense eye contact almost like he is starring you down

isn't so great either. And since I have had the baby, I have been noticing the

same things in him and I am terrified. I don't wanna do this again. Only this

time the new baby is not nearly as happy as Colton was as a baby. And Colton now

has this new thing where he wants to watch everything upside down, like all the

time and will walk bent over with his head on the floor. Its kinda funny

actually... And thank you I love it when he smiles it's so contagious. :)

He is still really young. I remember going through that with Chase. But today he no longer sifts sand...he plays correctly with it. And he no long drops balls just to watch them bounce while he flaps. He plays 4 square and catch and basketball. As his interests grow he will find more appropriate ways to play with your guidance. There is a whole different approach to therapy called Son Rise where you join the child in their stims. They rock...you rock. They flap... You flap.I didn't do that but many parents swear by it.You can find it on the Internet.I just redirected and redirected and redirected. I would also not allow him to play with things he stimmed with if I was unsuccessful in redirecting.Sent from my iPhone

And when he I try to play with him the right way with his toys he wants nothing to do with me or the toy. Then throws another fit if I try to make him. Its all so frustrating I feel like hes just throwing a fit all day, that seems to be what he does the most.

>>

>> Pursue an evaluation, because you are concerned. But remember that just like you know that Colton making eye contact doesn't rule out autism, neither does stimming or having meltdowns automatically rule in autism. There are so many factors to consider, and a whole DSM-IV qualification to meet. A good evaluation will help sort it all out.

>>

>> In the meantime, start doing what you would do if he did have autism. You don't have to wait for a diagnosis to do that. Provide a language rich environment. If he is rocking until he has sores, I would not let that happen. Engage him in a different activity when he starts rocking. Play, play, play. He doesn't play with his toys? Teach him how! Play along with him, show him how to use it. Does he currently receive speech therapy? Ask the SLP for some suggestions of how to work with him at home. If not, there are a lot of great early learning blogs that could help give you ideas. At the very least, read to him, as much as possible.

I just thought he liked commercials. A lot of times he will stim to them. And a lot of times when he rocks he has to have a blanket or pillow or even the rug from the front door in his lap. kinda makes sense now.....

Her meltdowns were much more intense but I think your son's was having a meltdown. My daughter did the stimming and still does. One thing my daughter did we used to think was "funny" before we realized what it was. She would stop everything when commercials came on TV. She was so fascinated by any and all commercials anything it could be aspirin or cars she stopped everything.

That is how Chase was. Screamed constantly. Even if I held him. It was he'll!Sent from my iPhone

Yeah, I attached a picture of colton when he fell into the table. And he just simply looked at me like what the hell is that table doing there? And walked off. Coltons younger brother will be 3 months old tomorrow and I literally can not put him down fir even a second or hes screaming his head off. Almost like hes in pain its very strange and he has a milk allergy and hes got acid reflux, so he has to sit up all the time.

------------------------------

>I think it may be a matter of not being engaged with our own bodies. I know if I get up in the morning and it is cold and I dress warmly, if it comes out warm - even if it gets over 30C - I probably won't notice i need to remove any clothes. I have also been known to dress for warm weather and then need reminding (this is why we have mothers and wives :) ) to put something else on. I don't always notice small things that cause pain. I am just focused on other things. My son is much the same. But when it comes to emotional or mental discomfort - that is another thing! My son cried almost constantly if not being held for the first 10 months of his life. But after that, if he fell over, sometimes he cried, sometimes he didn't. Usually not much at all - nothing like from the distress of not being held. He took years to learn to put out his hands to break his fall, but even when he put his teeth through his lips and there was blood everywhere, it

was more a whimper than a cry. The only time he really cried was if he couldn't see me when it happened. Once I was there, it was fine.

>Strange thing is, if I cut my nails and there is even the slightest 'catch' on anything it drives me mad. My wife has often commented I fuss over my nails worse than any woman. It's just that if they are not smooth, then any contact with anything is like fingernails screeching on a blackboard. Did anyone else have a teacher who did that to get attention? Not sure how I survived a year without getting up and hitting her hard. Maybe because I was only 7 at the time :)

Lmao that is funny, but hey if u like it, you like it. My son is completely

obsessed with hair and hair brushes. Like to the point that it think its all he

thinks about. When he wakes up ecery morning he immediately walks straight to

the bathroom and grabs the brush. And if you take it away he will have the

biggest melt down you have ever seen. He slams his head into the wall the floor.

He will come at you and try to bite you. pull your hair. Whatever it takes to

get the brush back. Its aweful. And today has been aweful.

------------------------------

>Don't expect him to act like a 'normal' kid. If he values the toys, then you

haven't wasted your money. I learnt early to let my son help pick things to

buy. I had to be blunt with family - particularly my mother - in letting them

know he would not use something he did not like. He did not care - and still

doesn't - that the item cost a lot of money, or that saying how little you like

it will hurt someone's feelings. If his grandmother bought him clothes he

didn't like, they stayed in his wardrobe, and if she asked what he thought of

them, he told her. It took me until I was a teenager to do that. But clothes

didn't bother me. As long as I had some, colour, style, age, amount of dirt,

nothing mattered. I've been told I have good taste in clothes, but I just buy

what I like. Since I have been married (25 years - my wife deserves a medal or

two) I have learnt not to wear my favorite T-shirt in public after it reaches a

certain degree of

raggedness, but at home I still dress for comfort. Some of my favourite

T-shirts predate the birth of my son - he is 18 in November :) I have also

learnt that pointing out that you don't get rid of your wife just because she is

showing signs of age is NOT a good argument for keeping favourite T-shirts

beyond their use by date :)

Lol, I know but the guy just me feel like I was just over reacting about him.

When he was the one to tell me the first time he saw colton that he needed to be

tested for asd and that his services alone are not going to be enough for him.

Now that im calm and have listened to a few people on here I feel like maybe he

was just mad about not having our case anymore.

------------------------------

>Yes, your son is just 'weird and quirky'. One of the medical terms for that is

'autism'. If a professional doesn't know that, they should be looking for a new

job. Maybe someone who doesn't know that early intervention is the key to

helping most things should be looking for a new job anyway.

Colton just rocks all the time, it seems to never stop. Dometimes hes sutting

sometimes hes standing sometimes hes on his hands and knees. Its craziness. Its

almost constant.

------------------------------

>My son does the opposite(he is autistic).  He rocks forward and sometimes bangs

his head.  He used to scream constantly.  He has now calmed down to about half

of the way he used to be(he is almost 6 now).  Don't let others cloud your

judgement.  If you think something is wrong, get him tested.  You are his mother

and you decide what you want to do ..not them

It does get better with time.  Hard to believe at the time -

especially when the days go by so slowly - but they do grow up and

some of these things fade away.  At nearly 50, I am still waiting

for some things to fade, but there's still time :)

That is how Chase was.  Screamed constantly.  Even if I

held him.  It was he'll!

even a second or hes screaming his head off. Almost

like hes in pain its very strange and he has a milk

allergy and hes got acid reflux, so he has to sit up

all the time.

I have also been known to dress for warm weather and

then need reminding (this is why we have mothers and

notice small things that cause pain. I am just

focused on other things. My son is much the same.

But when it comes to emotional or mental discomfort

- that is another thing! My son cried almost

constantly if not being held for the first 10 months

of his life. But after that, if he fell over,

sometimes he cried, sometimes he didn't. Usually not

much at all - nothing like from the distress of not

being held. He took years to learn to put out his

hands to break his fall, but even when he put his

teeth through his lips and there was blood

everywhere, it

was more a whimper than a cry. The only time he

really cried was if he couldn't see me when it

happened. Once I was there, it was fine.

Yeah colton, really gets a big kick out of playing with peoples hair and just

carrying a hair brush around. I have trued ti show him what you do with it, but

he has no interest in that. I think it might have something to do with sensory ,

him playing with hair. And one therapist he seen aldo said something about maybe

having an oral sensory issue. Because he still walks around and is always

putting stuff in his mouth just to taste it. Then he takes it out and plays with

it. He puts everything in his mouth. His favorite blanket he sucks the tag in it

while rocking to sleep.

drops balls just to watch them bounce while he flaps. He plays 4 square and

Its all so frustrating I feel like hes just throwing a fit all day, that seems

to be what he does the most.

like you know that Colton making eye contact doesn't rule out autism, neither

evaluation will help sort it all out.

don't have to wait for a diagnosis to do that. Provide a language rich

environment. If he is rocking until he has sores, I would not let that happen.

Engage him in a different activity when he starts rocking. Play, play, play. He

doesn't play with his toys? Teach him how! Play along with him, show him how to

use it. Does he currently receive speech therapy? Ask the SLP for some

suggestions of how to work with him at home. If not, there are a lot of great

early learning blogs that could help give you ideas. At the very least, read to

him, as much as possible.

That is so strange. I just thought he liked commercials. A lot of times he will

stim to them. And a lot of times when he rocks he has to have a blanket or

pillow or even the rug from the front door in his lap. kinda makes sense

now.....

intense but I think your son's was having a meltdown. My daughter did the

on TV. She was so fascinated by any and all commercials anything it could be

aspirin or cars she stopped everything.

I am sorry, typing on my iPad I sounded brusque. I understand--for me, 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 was a really, really intense and tiring time. My son (Asperger Syndrome) was very high needs, and I had a baby, too, who, incidentally, had multiple food allergies. I was on a strict elimination diet so that he didn't get sick from the breast milk. It was hard, and sometimes I didn't think I would make it through. But I did. And my son made it through the hardest part, too. Early intervention really is so important, and that is why I encouraged you to work at home, even while you are waiting for Early Start to figure their act out (and I totally agree that the therapist was out of line!). Ultimately, even an hour a week with the most amazing therapist ever is just an hour a week. What you can do at home is also very helpful. Yes, it is really important to have professionals on that journey with you, to help you with resources, to help you know where to focus next, to help you know what to do, etc. Until you get them, my only point for the message was meant for empowerment--you can help him now, even as you wait for the system to work.Incidentally, we pursed a diagnosis for my son through our health insurance, through a psychiatrist. After that we went to the school district (he was 3;9 at that point), and they did additional testing to see if he qualified for services. But having the diagnosis from the psychiatrist initially was very helpful, and he had good resources for us too,Sent from my iPad

Well I really do try not to let him rock so much but it is literally so much that there is no way to control even.a little bit of it. He rocks him self to sleep at night in his crib. We wakes up in the middle of the night any where between 1 and 4am and rocks for an hour or 2. And if I try to redirect his attention he has a meltdown. Then the rocking gets violent. And if I try to hard he attacks me. So I just let him do it most of the time. And I have 3 other children and one will be 3 months old tomorrow. :/

She was so fascinated by any and all commercials anything it could be aspirin or cars she stopped everything.

Everything went good til today. When The old Therapist comes to my house and is like well can you tell me why I'm not on your case anymore? And I calmly explained to him that I need someone more reliable. He mentioned that I should not seek a dx and that I should wait a few years if I am told to do so. And then he goes on to talk about how everyone at the office is "talking" about "certain parents" that only want their child dx so they can

receive government benefits. And said that they don't say names cause they aren't allowed to but didn't think any of it was about me. I in no way shape or form want anything from the government only the right kind of care for my child. I am extremely hurt by what he said. And Think that you know maybe there isn't anything wrong with him. Maybe he's just weird and quirky. I can't stop thinking about it. I don't know what to do. I am really starting to question if there is anything wrong at all. :-/

I really feel like im at the end of my rope. And then to deal with colton on top

of it. i really feel like just giving up all the time. Its hard enough just

dealing with colton but then to deal with peyton too is ridiculously hard.

I mean I know some stuff will probably never go away, and some of the stuff is

so cute I think I would miss it if he didnt do it anymore. Like this loke hmm,

hmm ,hmm noise he makes when he wants something. Its the cutest noise and would

be sad to see it go. But I know he needs to learn to speak words.

away. At nearly 50, I am still waiting for some things to fade, but there's

Sara,Chase too. OMG! This all brings back so many memories. Chase put everything in his mouth...and, still puts things in his mouth from time to time. He is 10...so annoying! And, Chase had NO idea what to use a brush for. Gosh...how many times did we show him!??? Thousands. Finallly, he would do it. But, never pretend played with it like kids do. He will brush his hair sometimes now. But, mostly I do it....LoriPlease BOYCOTT the movie 21 Jump Street! It makes fun of those with autism!

Yeah colton, really gets a big kick out of playing with peoples hair and just carrying a hair brush around. I have trued ti show him what you do with it, but he has no interest in that. I think it might have something to do with sensory , him playing with hair. And one therapist he seen aldo said something about maybe having an oral sensory issue. Because he still walks around and is always putting stuff in his mouth just to taste it. Then he takes it out and plays with it. He puts everything in his mouth. His favorite blanket he sucks the tag in it while rocking to sleep.

------------------------------

>He is still really young. I remember going through that with Chase.

>

>But today he no longer sifts sand...he plays correctly with it. And he no long drops balls just to watch them bounce while he flaps. He plays 4 square and catch and basketball.

>> >

What he did was not acceptable and he is the one who should be more comforting. I would report him! I watched your videos. My daughter did the same things.

Everything went good til today. When The old Therapist comes to my house and is like well can you tell me why I'm not on your case anymore? And I calmly explained to him that I need someone more reliable. He mentioned that I should not seek a dx and that I should wait a few years if I am told to do so. And then he goes on to talk about how everyone at the office is "talking" about "certain parents" that only want their child dx so

they can

>> receive government benefits. :-/
