Guest guest
Hi , Harry just responded -- said " For shingles there is zovirax for the early stages. By the time I had self-diagnosed it the doctor said it was too late for zovirax, but I treated it with lysine. " So I would suggest trying lysine (very inexpensive OTC supplement -- we take it for anything viral, seems to help) -- and the zovirax you might want to surf the net and read about it, may already be too late????? Good Luck! Bonnie question Hi everyone, I have a question. Have any of you ever had shingles before? I'm not sure I have them as I have not been to a dr. but am pretty sure due to some stress I have been under. I just don't know the best way to treat them and hat to have to go to a dr if they can be treated some other way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They have chosen to apprear on my right cheek (and I don't mean face) LOL!!! and I can hardly sit down or lay down they hurt so bad. By the way I did 60 LL breaths today. Love,
Guest guest
Thanks Melinda, I finally broke down and went to the Dr today and she said I was really a little late but gave me some stuff to take for a week or so and something for the pain. I never realized how truly bad they can be, but am a believer now!!! Love, On 5/12/05, The Family <neilmeltx@...> wrote: > > Oh, , I'm sorry. I had shingles in 6th grade. Guest guest
Many folks get things from Ebay. Do you already have a Merchant Account? Every company is different. I don't need a swiper, knuckle buster, or forms. My company has a Virtual Terminal I use. So before you run out and buy things, shop around first! ~Shyra A. Guest guest
Gabby, I got the manual imprinter from an ebay store pretty cheap. He also sold the slips and a custom plate for the imprinter. I think altogether I paid like $30 or something (that was a long time ago). If you're just getting started with it and don't want to start a merchant account anywhere, I highly recommend Propay (www.propay.com). I've never had a problem with them! Hope this helps! Guest guest
I'll second the recommendation for ProPay. I used to have a traditional merchant account, which can easily cost you $20-40/month just for the privilege of having it. The basic ProPay account is $35/year and then your transaction fees. Guest guest
as shyra said, I have been seeing virtual terminal popping up. I think i just saw an email on pay pal about a virtual terminal or something like that. I havnt looked into it though. but they said that it is great for shows and other venues and stuff were you don't need to do biz over the net. > Where do we newbie business people get a credit card machine(old or new > style) & the papers that are required for old machines??? > > Maybe some experienced people can explain how we submit the paper > style, and other how toos??? > Gabby
Guest guest
Personally, I prefer to avoid PayPal whenever possible. It offers NO protection for the seller. Their Virtual Terminal costs waaaay more than mine. I got my Merchant Account through my bank. My business has it's own checking account. My bank offers merchant services. You should check with your bank. I had the option of getting all of the machines and all that jazz, but the Virtual Terminal is perfect for me. I paid a one-time set up fee - less than $100. I pay $9.95 a month for the service. The fees for credit card transactions are less than half the PayPal fees. The bank also takes an active interest in protecting their customers. Chargebacks are not automatic. The person must file paperwork to get the money back and if I can prove the items was delivered to them, then they lose. Also, the person's name, address, phone number, and all of the card info must match exactly with their bank info. I cannot process a transaction without their phone number. Also, when a wife places an order with the hubby's card, I ship the order to the hubby. My bank rep recommended doing this to protect myself. Now for shipping proof, USPS Delivery Confirmation isn't enough. Thus, I have started shipping more with FedEx as they will have the exact address, where they left it, and who signed it. I know these are crazy things to think about, but they are needed. My bank rep got me to think about these things. Sad that I had to! ~Shyra A. Guest guest
Wow! FedEx is supposed to get a signature? They just leave my packages on my deck if I'm not home. When I have been home, I've never been asked to sign for anything. Is that with all shipments or only if you as the shipper request it? > >Now for shipping proof, USPS Delivery Confirmation isn't enough. Guest guest
No, they are not required to signatures except if it's delivered to a commercial address. Although, when I get FedEx packages at my home, I DO have to sign. They won't leave them. May be because I live in the city. Same with UPS. You can have a signature as a requirement for the delivery of the package. ~Shyra A. Guest guest
If your doc says your quad exercises aren't working, they're probably not working, although then the question arises why is your kneecap off track. But let's say you decide to get the lateral release (I had one in '95 and it fixed me up for 5 years -- I know that doesn't sound that great, but I think the job I took then, where I had to sit for hours w/my knees bent under a desk allowed the slit to grow partially back together). The one thing is, make sure that your surgeon doesn't cut your vastus lateralis. Mine did. So I can never have thunder thighs on that side. I'm not young & full of life, so it doesn't make a difference in how well my leg works, but you are. My 2nd surgeon (torn meniscus) told me that when OS's do a lat. release, they also cut the vastus lateralis a little. But the other day I read that that's not necessary. If the lat. release isn't enough, they can " reef " the medial retinaculum, i.e. take a tuck in it or cut a part out & sew it back together tighter. I've come to the conclusion that that may be what's causing my kneecap to sublux now. And if you're loaded with money (or your insurance would cover you there), you can to go Italy or Germany (or Canada, but they're only been doing this for a few months) and get SaluCartilage implants (search for SaluCartilage on the Web). I can tell you who to contact. I'm thinking about doing that myself, but think I'll try another LR first, and maybe a medial reefing. Ann(WA) question hi I just joined the group and I was reading over the last weeks worht of e-mails and u guys seem really well researched in this area so I was hoping to get some advice. I'm a 17yr old runner and I've had CP problems since my sophmore yr of high school and my dr. has basically told me because the work I've done trying to strenghthen my quads has done no good (beside making my legs look great) that I need to have the lateral release surgery as soon as the cross country season is over. He has also suggested a cortisone shot to get me through the season, and I currently taking celebrex, it seems to have reduced the inflimation but I still have a good deal of pain on and off the track. Guest guest
Hello Leah: keep in mind that if you are a heart patient, you have to watch out for over the counter meds with pseudoeffedrine like sudafed or decongestants. That might give you the shakes , dizziness and even blurry vision but it is very hard to say what caused it because , there are a lot of questions to be asked. What meds are you on? Were you very tired? were you over exerting yourself, did this ever happen before. i would definitely call my doc and ask him. Guest guest
Hey , my daughter is 33 and would do anything to be with Winnie the Pooh. I even buy her Pooh stuff for Christmas. If he likes the Wiggles let him go. We are all different and like differnet things. My 22 year old son is the Tank Engine mad and has been since he was a baby. We still buy him things. By the way, neither of them have DS, she is a legal secretary and he is a bus driver. No-one will look out of place because they all have one thing in common - they all love the Wiggles. Also think about all the grown ups who love Disney. Hope you all have fun with the Wiggles, Allyson
Guest guest
Hi, As my son got older we made sure his videos went more to his age. I did not think a High School student should be watching Barney, just didn't fit in the conversation well with his peers. We reminded him he was a big kid and that Barney was for little kids. He helped pack them up and give his to the local library for the little kids. I think for my son that keeping him as age appropriate as possible helps foster better relationships with his peers. I would not expect to find other 13 yo kids at that show. Besides his older brother has fits if we let him do little kid stuff!!! So we go to the expert on what is more age appropriate by asking the older brother what kids are watching and doing. Jean
Guest guest
I went to see Slim Whitman when I was 11. What is scarier; that I was the only kid in the audience who even knew who Slim was or that I loved him? I agree that we want to put our kids in peer appropriate environments but I also think that some things, such as what we like to do, is more important than what other people think about that. We like what we like. Ben (and Hannah and all of our kids) are always going to look different, act different and stand out to some degree regardless of how much we try to influence their choices to be more like " everyone " else. My general philosophy of life is: Go to the Wiggles and dance like a nut ball, if that's what brings you joy. There isn't enough pure joy in this world. And... in retrospect, it's less frightening than learning to Yodel. Connie Mom to 6 completely unique people and a husband who HAS a pain in the butt instead of being one.... Guest guest
I know where you are coming from - but in reality does it really matter when it is something/someone he really loves. Trent is 21 and is still a Wiggle fan, I would draw the line at taking him to their concerts these days, he last saw them when he was about 10. If it really bothers you, do you have a younger friend relative that you could take and have Ben just 'tag' along? Keep smiling Jan, mother of Trent 21yo w/DS from the LandDownUnder Question I have a questions for everyone especially those with older children. My son, Ben, is 13 and still likes the Wiggles. It's not a problem for him to watch it at home but they are coming to our town and my husband got upset because I don't want him to go. I told him that he would be with a lot of preschool and toddlers and that I don't think that it's right to purposely put him where he doesn't belong. My husband's comment was that he will always look somewhat out of place wherever he goes. I agree but I also don't think that we should put him in a position where he would be out of place on purpose. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mattern
