,

Have you tried changing your eating pattern to fit with your work pattern. I would be ravenous too if I worked till 2am in the morning and I was eating my last meal at 5-6pm. If your working, I would try changing your eating patterns and drinking non caffinate herbal tea in different flavors.

Welcome back Bonnie

We all need to be a team again !

R

challenge

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading about the challenge, please count me in!

My weight is where I want it, and I do my " regular " exercises almost every

day (the days I don't are when we're traveling). My exercises include at least

60 LL breaths each morning, along with a variety of moves (many from Rashelle's

video, and others that I've added) plus several more LL breaths throughout the

day.

I think that the LL has really contributed to my not having been sick (at

all!) this past year, and was really important in my weight loss last spring.

However, I still want to:

Eat better. I carefully watch my food choices, but I am addicted to diet

Coke. So far, I've had only water (yech!) today -- I'm trying!

Reduce my belly. I'm working that area, would love to get a flat belly

again!

Regain my limberness. Several months ago, I hurt the back of my

thighs/lower hip area -- it's slowly healing, but has a long way to go -- I've

wondered about sciatic nerve damage (my doc says that he can give me meds for

pain, I'm not yet ready to start searching for a doc who will actually tell me

what is wrong!) -- anyway, my legs will start aching during the night (will wake

me up), I can't stretch out like I used to, and I get really sore during a plane

trip/long car ride.

This happened suddenly (which is why I suspect an injury) -- I " felt " it go --

any insights or ideas would be welcome!

I've been super busy recently, working 2 jobs. However, the extra work is

paying off, the slab on our retirement house (in FL) is being poured today! And

retirement is planned for the end of this year! Wahoo!

My husband had shock-wave therapy for a kidney stone a couple of weeks ago

-- hasn't worked yet. Anyone have any experience with this procedure?

Best quit before I write a book...

That is one of my all time favorite salads

Panerra restaurant has that

R

challenge

Wednesday morning -- and I'm taking a day of vacation so that I can drive my

youngest daughter up to Denton (she's on Christmas leave, returns to her post on

the 8th -- she's going to visit for a few days with her sisters).

I did my exercises this morning -- about 60 LL breaths with various body

moves. This routine is so much a habit that I don't feel " complete " if I don't

do them -- I think that's the secret of regular exercise (at least for me!) --

make it a habit and somehow you always manage to work it in!

Now the challenge:

1. I completed my LL breaths and exercises.

2. Yesterday I had no carbonated beverages, just green tea, my morning

coffee, and lots of water. I do NOT think that water tastes good, and it does

NOT leave me feeling " refreshed " -- but I've been told that once I get used to

it, it will taste better -- I sure hope that's true for me.

3. Belly still sticks out. I bought a camisole-type bra (love the no-lines

in the back under snug shirts!) but it rolls up -- I think they're made for

women with really flat bellies -- anyone have luck with this type of bra? Any

hints on what to look for, or styles that might work? The typical bra indents my

skin at the back (hmm, imagine that shows that I have problems there....) and

then a snug shirt shows the indentations....

4. Working on my limberness. Today I have a long drive (about 500 miles

total) -- and I am worried that will make me ache again (through my upper

legs)....

5. Eating was inline with my chosen WOE yesterday -- but that, too, is now

habit. I no longer even think about eating anything with processed sugars ...

the Christmas cookies, etc., didn't even tempt me -- my splurges were lots of

fresh fruits (ate a LOT of watermelon last night!), fresh whole-grained breads

warm with ample butter....

I discovered a really good salad a while ago:

fresh spinach leaves (I like the baby spinach)

fresh pear, cut into small pieces (leave the peel on)

walnut pieces

feta cheese (or any type of crumbly cheese)

beets (cut into small chunks)

raspberry vinegarette (I use a no-added-sugar with basalmic vinegar one)

Toss everything together and serve.

Thursday morning ... yesterday went well. I met the challenge and:

Completed 60+ LL breaths with exercises

Ate correctly

Only drank water (yech!)

Today my husband goes in for a follow up with his urologist (kidney stone) --

the xrays from yesterday look like nothing has happened (but hopefully, I'm not

reading them correctly, I don't know what I'm looking for -- but there is a

solid mass about 13 cm, but it's beside the kidney stent?????).

And later I have to go to the dentist and have my broken bridge

evaluated/worked on/replaced -- I expect it to be EXPENSIVE.

Looks like everyone is doing really well -- 2006 will be a great year for ALL

of us!

You girls are doing sooo great!!!!!! I'm so proud of all of you!!!

Mon. I did 50 LL breaths. This morning(Tues.) I did 15 and tonight I tried to do

more but they're causing me too much pain. I'm already having a lot of pain and

one of the steps of LL just made it worse, so I had to stop. :-(

Louis:

About 25 to 30 percent of my calories are fresh and dried

fruit. About 50 percent is the sprouted wheat bread. The other 20

to 25 percent is beans, seeds, olive oil, nuts, cheese, vegetables,

and herbs. The beans and nuts are best if soaked. I make a tomato

sauce out of tomato, serreno peppers, garlic, onion, basil, and olive

oil to put over my bread that has added to it the beans or vegetables

and a little cheese. I posted a sprouted seed soup recipe which

tastes similar to a cream of broccoli or cream of mushroom soup that

I eat on a less than weekly semi regular basis. Once or twice a week

I will have some honey on some warm out of the oven bread. My diet

is mostly the same stuff every day. I enjoy what I eat. I feel

really good about it and because of it. I don't know if most people

who have the overabundance of processed prepared packaged grocery

store selections could or would want to do what I am doing. I went

to the grocery store to buy some fruit a couple of days ago. The

oranges were a good price, so I got some of them. I walked through

the rest of the store looking for other stuff. I spent about 40

minutes truly trying to find something else that I wanted to eat for

variety. I looked and I read some packages. Nothing intuitively

worked for me. I ended up getting a couple packages of raisins that

were on sale and that was it. The freeze got my tomatoes, basil, and

peppers this past week. My peas and broccoli seem to be a little

behind but are coming along. The spinach, kale, and carrots are

doing really good. Eating some of what I grow in my garden really

seems to make a big difference. I was trying to cut down on my fat

calories from less than 20 percent to less than 10 percent, but it

doesn't feel right. I think about 15 to less than 20 percent may be

better for me. I'm going to still try to minimize the oil and go

with a few more seeds and nuts.

Lester Germanio

I have a I have a challenge. I wonder if we might come up with a basic

diet, approximately 1500 calories, that we might come up with that is

all or mostly based on our sprouts. i.e.: Lester's wheat bread for 50

percent of our calories, and maybe a bean mix for protein, and

buckwheat, sunflower, and pea greens or a salad mix for the remainder

of our nutritional needs. Are there any thoughts or interests out there?

Corinna, Corinna!

So great to hear from you! We are now 4 strong! I was inspired by you all to

run 6.6 k this morning, when all I wanted to do was sit. There really is

power in this group!

Let me know how you do tonight. We don't all have to run, just move. Spin &

yoga sounds wonderful!

Wynn, I get on the treadmill almost every day. Since I've had my vertigo I've

been averaging around 3 kilometers a day but only walking right now..I have to

hold on to the treadmill just in case! And a bit of weight training every other

day. I'm in on the challenge!!

It will be a great motivator to know others are trying to get in the exercise

every day.

I ran 2 half marathons in 1991.- I was 38 at the time. I've been wanting to

start running again.

It has to be outside. I still have my running routes mapped.

It might take a couple of weeks to build up to 3 miles.

Been walking alot - Now I'm ready to pick up the pace a little.

Good for you, Corrina!

Jammed out today - too much to do after work & collapsed on the couch

tonight. Not good, I know. But I will run tomorrow and post my mileage.

Congrats to you!

So great to hear from you. I didn't do anything today and I am now very

unhappy with myself. But you have inspired and motivated me. I'll be on the

treadmill tomorrow for sure. No out side - it is SNOWING here right now!

YUCK! So lucky to have a treadmill.

Keep me informed on the weights too. I have lots in my basement and have

really been struggling with the motivation. Your energy will help me out.

Thanks e v. Keep it up.

Hey Dennis!

So great to hear from you. Will you join our little group? We'll be seven

with you.

We're not into competition, just encouragement. Just walk/run to start. That

will get you moving, but feeling like it's a little more than a walk. It's a

great way to start and you can gradually increase the running increment as

you get more comfortable.

So glad we have a group to offer each other motivation and encouragement.

Let us know every day how you did. There's me, Wynn, E V, Corinna, two

's, Nixe and now YOU!

Great fun to be part of this positive group.

Sending you encouragement and smiles,

Hey all!

I went to a spin class during my lunch break. Because I was really busy at work,

I had to skip Swim Practice on Wednesday but managed to do 20 min of Abs

exercises before leaving for work. Yesterday, instead of making a trip to the

candy machine I went for a 30 min walk to clear my head and then went back to

the project I was working on. So, today felt really good to get moving again.

You all really are an inspiration!

Spring is finally coming to Sweden, so I will start to run outside again. Maybe

tomorrow?

Cheers!
