Thanks , it's actually been a motivating factor that those things I used to take for granted are becoming harder to do...the basic hygiene, putting my shoes and socks on without having to be a contortionist...etc. I am so glad to be a part of this. Lu <sandra.mygroup@...> wrote: I've been reading this list for a few weeks now and so here I go jumping in with both

I'm about to turn 40, am 317 lb and am at that point in this struggle where I know it's lose weight or lose my life....or at least the quality of life that still has me doing things for myself. That is such a real motivator. I think losing the ability to do basic everyday hygiene and basic living skills is a scary thing for anyone. And as so many has said here just trying to live healthier is a goal for most of us. Come on in with us all and start taking some baby steps of your own. We will do it together. your support too so its a give and take here. Wecome again! Lu __________________________________________________

Glad you came out of lurking :) What kind of plan did you settle on? do you journal? are you tracking your food? do you drink your water? How's exercise? I've never been much of a dieter - once about 15 years ago I lost 50 because my mom started RS and I thought what the heck - I lost more than she did and actually kept it off for a few years. Then I stopped watching and hit an all time high of 330. I got down to 265 in 2003 and by the beginnig of this year was back up to 328ish just under the 330. I'm down to 302.4 today. My water is never a problem, my food is about 70% and I get a greatr big zero in the exercise department. So that's what I need to work on. Welcome! Live, Love, Laugh

Chandra, thanks for the great intro and congratulations for all the progress

from where

you have come. Conventional nursing is as scary as conventional medicine. I

think you are

on a great path. I also encourage OTHER NEW MEMBERS to follow your example with

a

good introduction!

Regarding your child's frustrating food allergies, I'm 100% sure you can

untangle the web

that has caused it, and you can do it with natural methods. Conventional

medicine has

NOTHING GOOD for children like this. Since the cause is so multi-faceted, you

most likely

will need the help of a professional holistic healer though; the GOOD NEWS is

that the TC

area is loaded with some of the best ones in the world.

The holistic doctors that I've known to have the best cure rates for this are

DRS GARY

HULIN and CHRIS FOLEY (see the files for contact info). KATHY DEBOER at A

Chance To

Grow charter school (and a TF member) has had hundreds of food allergy kids

totally

cured, all natural, all holistic, all real cures. Don't mess around, spend the

money, go only

to the best and have a healthy child NOW.

One aspect of cure, and one most worthwhile trying now is PROBIOTICS. When I

worked

for a local producer of probiotics we had an entire file cabinet filled with

testimonials on

food allergy cure (and the subsequent problems that it so often leads to).

Stick with the

top brands, use the CHILD version and dose it up heavily for several months.

Most failures

are from wrong kind, wrong brand, too small a dose, and from qutting too soon.

If you

combine it with a good ENZYME product, and cut all BAD FOODS, your results will

be even

more spectacular.

Hi Kathy W.!

We corresponded quite a bit by email a while back, right? I'm

sorry I lost track of you in the past months (years?). Am so glad you

have resurfaced, although I'm very sorry to hear you are having

continuing and worsening problems.

I share your frustration, as I'm still in the pretty much the same

(sinking) boat that I was last time we corresponded. Some things have

improved since I had two hip replacements, but other things are worse

than ever. I haven't had any revision surgery yet, although I plan to

hopefully next year. It will be a crap shoot as to whether it helps

any or many of my pain and other neurological symptoms. Frightening

to say the least.

Although I get the impression from docs I've seen that there are quite

a few people who have been fused to the sacrum (originally with

Harrington Rod instrumentation)for as long as I have, I haven't run

into very many of them on line or otherwise. Maybe two or three that

I can think of. Hope you will let me know if you've found others.

I've wondered if perhaps the key to avoiding problems was to have a

revision to restore sagittal balance earlier, rather than later, but

it sure sounds like it didn't work out that way for you.

Are your docs sure there are no pseudoarthroses now? Dr. Lonstein

sounds like he was very thorough, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to get a

second opinion from another surgeon (unrelated to Dr. Lonstein) who

has done a lot of revisions on people like us with long fusions for

scoliosis.

I've been wondering if I should let my docs do another CT myelogram on

me, since the one they did previously, although using a cervical

puncture, was just of my lumbar area. Was your CT myelogram of your

entire spine?

Like you, I try to manage my symptoms by lying down frequently

throughout the day and use a cane when I have to walk much. Have you

ever tried any muscle relaxers for your pain? That seems to allow me

to sleep better than when I don't use it.

Sorry I don't have great answers for you, but am really glad to have

heard from you again,

loriann

Dear Starhawk,

Welcome! I am so happy to have you join us. I am supposedly some small part Cherokee but you couldn't tell it :). My name is , I'm 46, and I have several illnesses. I have fibromyalgia, asthma, chronic sinusitis, possible cystic fibrosis, gerd, IBS, high bp, high cholesterol, low thyroid, overweight, sleep apnea(sleep w/c-flex), insomnia, and anxiety and depression among some others. I am having sinus surgery next Monday the 23rd. Oh yeah I am diabetic, that is new. I have a relatively healthy husband , just overweight and high bp and cholesterol, and healthy son Nick age 24, college grad and pharmacy tech, who is applying to pharm schools again this fall. I also have a daughter age 22 w/cystic fibrosis who is sick right now but has clinic tomorrow, praying she only needs oral antibiotics and not an admit. She is in school studying to be a mechanical engineer. Also a adorable mutt named Lucy.

I have a prayer request, please pray for my sister-in-law Morey, she has cancer in her brain. In June 2005 she was dxed w/ cancer in her brain, bones and lungs--she never smoked. She was given 2-4 months to live. She is a fighter and did chemo and radiation plus lots of prayer. She was beating the cancer and is a spokesperson for the LiveStrong Foundation, flying all over the country speaking at their events. In July she returned to Houston for a check-up (she now lives here in Orange Co Ca with her husband Craig) and a miracle! the cancer in her brain and lungs was gone and the tumors in her spine in remission!! She was taken off chemo. However, a couple of weeks ago she again returned to Houston @ MD Andersen Cancer Center and found her brain tumors had returned. She is very positive and only asks for prayer. She sent me an email pep talk this morning! she is so incredible and is not feeling sorry for herself at all. Craig flew out to be with her.

So Starhawk, please pray for me, , my daughter, and my sil, . Please send special energy to .

Thanks so much and I will be praying for you too.

love,

Hello, my name is Starhawk, yes, that's right, I'm ee and very proud of my heritage. I have been reading the list much of today to get a "feel" for the group and I hope I'll fit in here as I think I will. To give you a very brief rundown of my medical problems...epilepsy (grand mal), MS which just came out of remission and is causing some new problems, Fibro, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, Reynaud's to list but a few. I still try to remain as active in life as my days will allow and I won't let things get me down most of the time, but like everyone, there are days...

I will place anyone who asks for prayers into my prayer basket. There's no way I can list all the names for each prayer so I have a basket with all the names in it. I also light candles for those who need prayers. I do energy work as a part of my Spiritual beliefs so I will also be sending energy to any who ask for that.

I'm a 55 year old mother of 2 grown kids and I have 2 beautiful grandchildren. I live in the Denver metro area and love the mountains and the weather here. I was a military wife (after my own military service in the Air Force) for 25 years so I've lived all over this great nation. Anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask. I hope to get to know all of you over time.

Hugs and Blessings,

Starhawk

The body has it's own built in protection. Better than anything you can get in a

hospital or drug store.

It works all the time and for all diseases. The fact we have been brainwashed by

medical advertising, we find that hard to believe; so we are always looking for

something to " take " . There is nothing to take. The only thing the body requires

is nourishment, in order to do it's job. Since the medical industry can't make

any money selling nourishment, they sell drugs, chemicals and operations.

Hi. My name is Kim and I am a sahm of 2 girls ages, 2 yrs. and 6

months. We vaccinated our 2 year old, almost following the schedule

to a T. When she was almost through, I came across some info. on

vaccines and started reading books and other things on other sites.

When I became pregnant with my other daughter I couldn't decide what

to do, if we would vaccinate her or not. But so far she has not had

any shots. My husband wants to vaccinate and I cannot do it. Our

peditrician suggested that we give her Hib and prevnar. But we

haven't yet. I actually like going to our doctor because I can just

say no to vaccines and they don't try to argue and make me feel

guilty. I would like to learn more about vaccines, how to protect

her from the diseases that vaccines are supposed to and how to

reverse any damage we may have done to our 2 year old. I breastfeed

the 6 month old. I breastfed the 2 year old until a year and started

weening her. My 2 year old hasn't been on any antibiotics or had any

ear infections. She has had colds and temperatures, but they don't

last very long.

I know people in my family think I am putting my baby at risk,

probably including my husband. But I just want to know the truth

about vaccines.

Hi Kim

it's great to have you here.

This is the perfect place for learning more about the dangers of

vaccinations. I have learned a huge amount in a very short time.

Read all you can on Sheri's website and on other websites, and it will

help you deal with any fear and empower you.

Hi Sora,

Welcome! There has been some lively discussion

recently about linden absolute. There are a lot of

fakes out there so be careful! You can look in the

archives of this group and find those posts for lots

of info on the subject. There are also lots of

blending tips there and don't be afraid to ask

questions. Questions often spark great discussions.

If no one answers right away, just ask again because

sometimes the questions slip through. Also, check out

the files and links for all kinds of good information.

Hello and welcome to you Crystal!

We have a lot in common; I had my DD, now (3) in the hospital with

much stress and worry and she was vaccinated b/c of my ignorance at

the time.

My DS (just turned 1) was born at home, I labored in the birthing

pool, and gave birth on a stool b/c I was ready and didn't have time

to get back in the water! I also had a midwife and an apprentice as

well as a doula. It was the most satisfying and rewarding thing I

have ever done! He will NOT be vaxed; I only wish I had known

better with my DD; she also is very energetic and a non-stop talker!

But both are healthy and very happy so I can't complain!

Hi Beth, 60 miles north of Atlanta in Jasper. I have a family doc

that will see me but is at odds with not vac. I have only seen them

once since I told them I was thinking of not - and we just didn't talk

about it. I am looking but not actively. I keep thinking of looking

for a D.O. (although I don't know much about the difference in dr

types yet - but I am pretty sure DO's tend to be more natural in

approach, correct me if I am wrong)
