Jodee what plan have you decided to follow. I am going to watch richard simmons on qvc today and see if his new package interests me. The 30 day plan really interests me. He is on 2 pm to 3 pm if you get a chance to catch it. Maybe just listen to him will give you a boost.

Hi ,

Thanks for the welcome. The surgery that I had was called an intestinal bypass. I had it at 16 years of age and was the youngest person to ever have it. It is rarely done today because they know that it kills people via taxing the liver so much that eventually the surgery needs to be reversed. They knew this when they did the surgery on me but the bloody surgeons are out to make a buck yanno. I only lost about 40 pounds from the surgery. The surgeries they are doing today are very different. The surgery I had involved the intestines only and not the stomache at all. My husbands niece has had the current "pouch" procedure done and she has had a lot of problems. In fact, when I had my surgery reversed they offered to do a different weight loss surgery and I declined telling them that I wanted to be a whole person again.

Jodee

PS they both look like me, they are cursed LOL ;)

Hey June!

Nice to meet you. I don't think I told folks that I repeated the visual

strategies talk they all contributed to a couple years ago. :) I felt

like I couldn't talk fast enough!

anyway.

I " d sure like to hear a bit more about the behaviors Zach is having at

school. I " m the first to start blaming the environment and the support

folks....so be prepared. This is a pretty good group at problem solving.

Tell us more about Zach--and don't forget to tell us about his strengths

and the great things in life, too! It's really important to focus on the

positive even while problem-solving! It's the only way to hang on to sanity.

Take care,

Hi Kathy,

If you watch a new baby breathing you'll most likely notice that their

belly moves up and down. As people age for some reason we learn to

breathe shallowly.... from our chest, not our belly. The breathing

programs retrain you to start breathing from your belly. This enables

oxygen to flow throughout the body. When oxygen flows through the body it

causes you to have more energy, it causes healing, it releases toxins,

and it causes weight and inch loss.

I've tried Body Flex (BF), Oxycise (O), and Life Lift (LL). B.F. worked

for me but caused problems with my asthma. O gave me a severe sore

throat; so I really couldn't give it a fair shot, and LL is

wonderful!!!!!!! I've lost 30 lbs. plus many inches with LL and my asthma

is better. I've gone from a size 18 to sizes varying from a 4/6 to a 14

and my 14's are baggy. LL is very gentle, energizing, and effective!!!!!

Rashelle the creator of it is also on this list. I believe that you'll

love LL!!!!!

Blowout like you're blowing through a straw, take in a deep belly breath:

you want your stomach to expand as you're taking in your breath, hold it

for a few counts, Say the word " Pah " (slowly and quietly...almost like a

sigh) without force as you're letting the air back out of your body.

While you're " pahing " your stomach should be starting to deflate so to

speak. Now..hold your breath and do the lift: the way that I explain the

lift is you're lifting your guts up toward your neck and flatten your

stomach as flat as possible, now hold your breath while doing the lifting

and the flattening as long as you can. You may feel a little tightening

in your butt while your flattening your stomach.

I recommend that you at least buy the original LL tape. This tape

teaches you the LL breath plus gives you quite a few stretches/ exercises

to chose from. " Tape 1 " would be my next choice. I also love the

reflexology tape.

Love, Liz

The purpose of my email was to introduce myself to the group. In my email, I wanted to share something of myself and I chose to copy you all on a letter I sent to the president because I felt that the poem was inspirational not political, which is what I stated in my email to you all; I was not attempting to "shove anything down anyone's throat".

I can tell you that as President and GM of a multinational corporation, I read that poem at my first meeting with all the employees and it ended up posted on the communications bulletin board. Those that heard it found that, at a down moment, they could read it, feel re-inspired or just smile during a difficult time.

It would be unfortunate for anyone if one email would prompt an exit from a supportive group such as this, but that would be your own decision, of course. Thank you to those who responded that liked the poem.

Hi Ann,

I am following Atkins; Atkins is hard for me because I have never been a big meat eater. I used to play pro tennis in my former career where I was coached to pile on the carbs and I trained five hours a day. When I retired from tennis, it was a relief not to have to work out so hard and now that I have been in the corporate world, everything has changed...including my weight. I am hoping once I get going it will get easier although one of my brothers is an executive pastry chef and oh the temptations...

What about you? What plan are you following?

Thank you for having me. It is wonderful to be able to be apart of a group with a common goal. With all the temptations around, this weight thing is a difficult task. I have embarked on the low carb diet and am hopeful. With all the tensions in the world today, sometimes me thinking about me and my weight seems trivial, but for my health and happiness I want to achieve my goal and lose the weight. Recently, I sent President Bush a letter and although it is certainly not diet related, I hope it might inspire you all too. Believe it or not, I received a call from the White house and a wonderful personal letter from the President. Life is precious, believe in yourselves!Dear Mr. President: It takes a great leader to lead in times of adversity, in times when your position may not be popular and in times when important sacrifices must be made in order to accomplish noble and just goals; but there is never a wrong time to do the right thing. I wish to express my gratitude to you, as our leader, and to our soldiers, for America deeply appreciates the sacrifices made to make the world a better place.

Believe in today.Believe in your dreams.Believe when others might not.Believe that you make a difference.Believe we can make a better world.Believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel.Believe that you may be that light for someone else.Believe that you are treasured.Believe that the best is yet to be.Believe in yourself.I believe in you.

Kim,

Your email is upsetting and like some I have read really sad and tinged with anger. It is surprising to me that for a support group there is so much lashing out. My emails contain none of that; no dispersions, no criticism. If you don't agree with what I have written fine, move on.

I hope you find success with your plan and achieve your goals. I understand what you mean about pain; I was hit by a mac truck when I was 18 and pain is hell.

OH for heaven's sakes!! Lighten up! The only thing being shoved down your

throat is food. Put your focus where it belongs: on your own

perfectionism. Then just hit DELETE and move on....

Gosh, it's hard not to tally the number " for " and the number " agin' " .

Personally I thought your original post with the president letter was

bragging and then you bragged again about your prestigious career position.

But I just scanned them and deleted. Now I see you taking every

opportunity to thank the peeps on your " side " .

We are sick people. I am every bit as perfectionistic and critical as her.

I am also every bit as (ironically) insecure and conceited as you.

I am Kim and I am new to the list. I had one bright shining summer in my

entire life where I was normal weight. Now I am 41 years old, and 234#. My

knees hurt and I have to be careful going down stairs. In order to get up

from a chair I have to lean way forward and swing my butt up off the cushion

before I slowly straighten up.

My eating is currently out of control and I am having MOOD SWINGS--a side

effect of bingeing. My plan is to do foodmover and yoga.

If I do not weigh and measure my food, I get very compulsive. Once I start

eating compulsively, I can't stop because I DON'T WANT TO.

The mindset is, " once I start the 'diet' I can't eat all this stuff, so I am

going to enjoy it now. "

I, too, am praying for Jaylena's mom.

~Kim~

My last food plan was a combo of foodmover and better food choices. More veggies and fruits in my life. I need to stop binging. To me to stop this I have to plan better. I am trying to set up a summer schedule.

I am curious. What was your food plan the last time you felt in control?

What food plan has worked best for you in the past? Your support actually

made me want to start my foodmover TODAY!! (And I am going to an amusement

park).

Thanks.

Atkins is too extreme for me from my understanding of it. I prefer Sugar

Busters but I have found myself avoiding carbs more and more lately.

I was very athletic when I was younger. I played every sport available and

loved it. Frustrating and depressing that I've let my body become 100+

pounds overweight when I used to be so fast and strong. I'm out of the

corporate world for the time being since I'm taking time off to spend with

my kids. I'm searching for a family friendly career. Does your pastry chef

brother live nearby? Just tell him that you can't eat that stuff right now.

Hi Lee,

Your not too old, I have many friends who had the transplant in their 40's 50's

and older... I heard from people in their 0's, 10's, 20's, and 30's. I have a

friend who live in Tacoma and he had a transplant done a couple of years ago...

He is in his 80's.

I been thinking of getting a transplant if I'm qualified. I joined this group

to hear more about people who had them. I'm 50 years old.

hi, my name is Lee. I live in WA. I have thought of getting implant for

I know being deaf make it so hard to find a GOOD job. Three years ago, i was

I am 46 y.o. now, does it make me too old to get it? What about Medicaid,

let start with those two.

Thank you,
