hi Joan  Darren my husband, say still's is the only thing I'm allowed to

complain to him about! LOL.  everything else is changable/self inflicted, but I

did not ask to get still's!  Besides, he's hoping i'll get better so I can look

after him in his old age.  Have a great day.

Subject: RE: STRESS

Hello Sue

Glad you are as lucky as Ellen and I. I do try and put myself in his

position and it must be very difficult to be the one you lean on all the

time as I know there must be times when (my husband) must be really

fed up and wishes we could have the life pre Stills. I am sure if it was

the other way round, I wouldn't be as good at caring as he is, but I do make

a fuss of him when I do have a better day, unfortunately that is all I can

do.

Hope you have had a good day.

Now why didn't I think there was an ulterior motive to me getting all this

TLC - being looked after in his old age and there was me thinking I was

irresistible . Only joking.

Take care

ok  add a 5th (and I don't mean the drinking kind...or do I???)

without my husband I would never have survived this...he does everything and

anything I need

and to top it off, he is sick himself..he has an ascending thoracic aneurysm,

blood clot, kidney stones

high blood pressure, high cholesterol....and yet every month he still buys me

flowers...

sorry Marty, I like being a brat lol

Diane..42

well, you can add a forth... my guy has been awesome.. he gets me my meds,

asks if I need anything all the time, does all the shopping.. everything.

He does everything for me when I can't - he's my best friend and I don't

know what I'd do without him.

I'll tell you what - he certainly kept the 'for sickness and in health part

of the marriage vow'.

Ok, add a 6th. That would be me, of course. I mean, after all, I am

the husband of everyone's dreams. Just ask me....(lol)

Actually, Cheryl amazes me in how she has taken to my illness. Never

complains and always keeps on my case when I am not doing what I need

to do. Like, " you know, that foot looks pretty bad, don't you think

it's time to go to the ER? " or " you know you are open to infections,

why are you walking around the house with nothing on your feet? "

Dealing with Matt has been shared by us, but last year with all the

resort visits, she had to handle a lot of that.

3 cheers to the spouses!

Well, it seems alot of us are very lucky after all.  We just need to remember

that sometimes, and go the extra mile when we are able.  It will be noted and

helps alot when the spouse is called upon to do more than their fair share.

(which may be all the time!)

I've been " hiding " a great deal for the past week due to severe back

pain, but I've been reading most of the posts and I appreciate all

you are saying. At the moment I'm dealing with a typical moody

teenager of whom I'd love to throw out the window and see if he can

fly like he thinks he can.

The frustration just adds to the dismay of pains, that mouth of his

makes me want to slap him sometimes and his actions...OK, we're not

going there. Rubin is, for the most part, a wonderful person. When

the mood strikes he's helpful, thoughtful and even quite the

conversationalist; then the teenager shows through; and all the other

stuff disappears and I'm left scratching my head (and other parts

that itch).

Truth is I've changed pain meds and the new one isn't doing the job

so I'll give him room for that but let's face it - HE'S A TEENAGER

and aire to hormones, bad attitudes and stupid desisions (sorry about

the spelling errors - no brain tonight).

I'm not going to take this any further my dears, there's no reason

to. I can't seem to unbottle my feelings or thoughts fully and that

just adds to my frustration. I just want you all to know that though

I may seem to be almost always positive and happy, I too, have my

troubles.

Take care and be well.

Ellen dear,

We know life is not all roses for you honey, after all you are human like

the rest of us and as you say you do have a teenager in the house and for

those of us that have had, oh do we sympathize with you honey!!! I'm sorry

you're having so much pain and the newer medication is not working. You

yourself are a hard working woman and deserve a break. Isn't it time for a

vacation or another cruise soon? Maybe a couple extra days off before the

holidays are upon us? I was just thinking this afternoon what the heck am I

doing having a house full for Thanksgiving for two days with just about

everyone we have that's family here? For two major meals? So, don't do as I

do but rather try to get some quiet time for yourself and know we are here

to soak it up for you. I like that new analogy with the group. Us soaking it

up for one another that is.

Lots of love,

Alli the Mummy... hee hee. I'll never read another post from you without

picturing you wrapped head to toe. :)

I got rid of the hubby (well, we got rid of one another), but I have a dog I

adore.... does that count? She musses up my bed for me, drags me out at all

hours of the night to pee (so I won't get stiff!), yanks me all over the

place when we walk (stretching those muscles and joints, right out of place

sometimes!), and when I finally give up and sit back to relax, she gets in a

fight with the cat.

But when she curls up against my back at night and warms me right to the

toes, I'll forgive her anything. Who needs a man? ;)
