PTL!!!! I thought of you often yesterday, and always sent an extra prayers

for all involved. I'm late getting here today, but what great news to read.

We'll keep up the prayers that the biopsy comes back just fine and that

recovers and heals with no problems at all...

won't be 100 percent sure until we get the results from the biopsy.

about 2 hours sleep last night. Right now his brother (our Airman who

came home for the surgery) is on one side of him and his dad on the

other watching him sleep and rubbing his head. We are so grateful for

Hello Dearest Jenni,

I wanted to send my prayers for you and to tell you how pleased I was to read

this last message.

There is nothing more wonderful than to hear of a positive outcome. I will

continue to keep you and all of your loved ones in my prayers.

I know that prayers make a difference. My Mom was in the hospital last week and

then my oldest Granddaughter, soon to be Mommy was admitted to the hospital with

severe pains in the middle of the night. Thankfully they are all, (my Mom, My

and the baby) all seem to be doing fine now.

you are currently experiencing. I wish you nothing but clear skies ahead. I

You know about 2 weeks ago, I was in the shower and of course had to think of

you because most the products in my shower come from you LOL Anyhow, I just

had this burden that I really needed to keep you in prayer, and I have been

everytime I think of you! But after reading your note I realized how much you

Thanks, Barbara. You're right, I was a test case, but I allowed it

because they dangled mobility in front of me at the 11th hour. Just

goes to show that when it comes to our spines, we should never make

rash decisions.

enough, now you are forced to deal with not knowing anything too.

awwww sorry you at to go through that, and dont worry about venting it sure helps at times lol, am from england but cannot remember what the hospitals are like, am surprised though that they didnt tell you more would at least think they would of said something, anyways do hope all is well and martin is doing ok, and didnt have a vasectomy hehehehe

My surgery was just about 12 days ago, and I'm feeling pretty good,

was definitely caused by the muscle relaxants used in anesthesia, and

that he would try to use only gas on me, and no muscle relaxants at

all...which is what they did...used only gas (Thanks Alana!) And

I'm happy to say that I woke up just fine this time, no temporary

paralysis, no freak-outs WooHoo!

The biggest problem I had this time, was the morphine pump for pain.

It ended up making me extremely nauseas, so nauseas that I couldn't

eat any solids for 4 days, which we all know isn't good for us

SMA'ers...and nothing they tried to combat the nausea helped...so I

just had to deal. By the time they got rid of the morphine, I was

weak as a kitten, but that has been getting much better since I've

been home and back to eating my husband's wonderful cooking

All of the nursing staff at the hospital were very kind and helpful,

one of the best experiences I've had so far with people generally

unfamiliar in how to take care of a person with SMA. They gave me

heparin injections the whole time I was there, plus kept my legs in

these funny pump up boot things that constantly inflated and deflated

to help prevent blood clots (especially good since I've had one in

the past). All in all it seemed like they were very on top of

things.

So far, so good I'm very happy the surgery is over, and am very

happy to be home

deflated " I was surprised because we sell those in Avon!! And I bought some!

They are pretty weird lol, but hearing what you went through before with blood

clots and circulation problems it made me want to be more careful too!

has been doing great since we got her home she is actually

starting to walk almost normal for herself and not look like bambi any

longer. Plus she started sleeping back through the night once we were

out of the hospital. She wakes up sometimes cause she wants to come

sleep in our bed but she was doing that before the surgery she's not

complaining of pain when she wakes so that's a really good thing and

she's only on pain meds not about twice a day so I'm happy with that.

be sure to let us know when goes for her instrumentation surgery, and whether it is the Veptr (rib) or growing rods. We are praying too. Glad she is returning to normal routines and behaviors. :0)
