Guest guest
A 4 year old computer isn't the latest and greatest but for most stuff except extreme games and things like movies and possibly very high end audio processing you don't need a new one. IMHO the most likely problem with a pc that age is software related. If not then possibly a hard drive problem. If you provide your symptoms here maybe someone can offer a guess... BTW, I'm glad you got your car fixed. Should now be good for another quarter million miles, eh? I know how it feels when your wheels don't go. Guest guest
the guy looked at my car and thought it was super--no rust underneath even. but I am afraid I will need a fuel pump soon and that's a lot of $$$. It's always something. I have been stuck at home for 4 days and I have one can of refried beans left. this is a Dell and I thought they were good for 4 years? I am having to restart it a lot to get it unfrozen. Guest guest
I think maximum is your interpretation. I can't find that word anywhere on their website or on the PDF. I think the problem I am having is that you type that word pretty often and refer to that web site, but that word is simply NOT there. Anywhere. You can't say " the maximum dose that I find mentioned on their web site is 180 mg " if the word maximum or any like meaning word is never written anywhere! Probably some people have very poor absorption, with myself I am near top of range in my FT3 with " just " 2.5 grains with a normal average body temperature. Others may need a grain more or so. Armour would make a very poor obesity drug when used at an overdose. I can't imagine who would want to sweat their rear ends off running a constant fever, have heart palps, hand shakes, chest pain, bug eyed, talking a mile a minute like some hype.....have you ever seen someone that had untreated Grave's? Does not look pleasant. Neil wrote: > > I misunderstood other posts if they have reference only to the PDF from > Forest. Guest guest
You can say that for any thyroid medication- they always state a Suggested maximum dose. But they never state an absolute maximum dose. Because every patient is different and everyone has different needs; ergo the doses may be different- some high; some low and some higher than the Suggested maximum doses. -- Re: Weight gain on Compounded Time Released T3? I misunderstood other posts if they have reference only to the PDF from Forest. It would be more accurate to state that the maximum dose that I find mentioned on their web site is 180 mg. In addition the maximum dose I can find listed on Armourthyroid.com [ " http://www.armourthyroid.com/con_faqs.aspx " ] is 180 mg. In reading some of the material I see two more reasons Forest might want to suggest a less than maximum dose. One is that some people have apparently used it for obesity control in otherwise healthy people and this is not the purpose of the medication. Another possible reason is that there are potential interactions with a number of other medications and conditions which might cause increased difficulties in larger doses. If I have understood the two sites mentioned above then 3 grains is equivalent to 300 mcg of Synthroid; and provides more than the normal levels of T3 and T4 for almost everyone. I am somewhat at a loss as to why we should need to take more T3 or T4 than a healthy body produces. IMHO; YMMV... > I did check the PDF that Forest has for dosing info, this is what they > say exactly " Most patients require 60 to 120mg/day. Guest guest
It doesn't recommend a maximum dose- it list a suggested maximum dose- but it makes doses that are HIgher than the alleged average dose of 3 grains to allow for individualized needs of individualized patients. Ergo someone who is of large body build and/or taller; or patients with auto-immune disease [not necessarily including graves]; cancer or other disease states that can increase the need for a a higher dose than someone who is petit on the average or is healthy except for hypo T. But everyone's needs are different. I am finally starting to feel normal again and I am on 4 grains. If I was limited to 3 grains total- I would still be experiencing severe hypo T symptoms It is up to the medical provider [ usually] to make the decision on how much the patient needs; depending on the labs [ excluding the TSH] and symptoms. -- Re: Weight gain on Compounded Time Released T3? > > In all fairness don't you think you should mention that the manufacturer > lists 180 mg as the MAXIMUM daily dose??? Guest guest
I know some solid state devices have a projected life span of 30 years; or at least used to. There's no reason in the world for a pc to wear out in 4 years. A lot of time it's nothing but malware such as a virus/spyware/adware and so on; or maybe corrupted files. Do you use a good virus checker? Firewall? Spyware software? Do you defrag your hard drive occasionally? Run checkdisk? What OS do you use? If you use Windows XP there's a group called WinXPPro with a lot of people who know a heck of a lot more about such things than I do. Luck, > this is a Dell and I thought they were good for 4 years? Guest guest
I can and I did and it is an accurate and truthful statement. It follows correct rules of logic and English usage, and is therefore a valid statement. However, my former use of the " maximum " term was misleading because I had thought from what I had read that it was specifically stated on their site that the maximum dose should not exceed 180 mg. But in fact what is true is that wherever I've found dosages mentioned on their site 180 mg has been the maximum dose mentioned in any context. My understanding of that site says that no one should need a dose greater than 180 mg, which indicates to me that they are in a manner stating or suggesting that the maximum dose anyone should need or take is that quantity. > You can't say " the maximum dose that > I find mentioned on their web site is 180 mg " if the word maximum or any > like meaning word is never written anywhere! Guest guest
Darned if I can find it if they do; although it makes sense and I had remembered reading it somewhere. I do find where they indicate that no one should need more than 180 mg; but even there they do not spell it out specifically using the word " maximum " . If you have another source that does say so I'd like to know where it is. But since you're a professional medical practitioner let me ask you: Why would anyone need a replacement dose of any medication that is twice that produced by a healthy person? > You can say that for any thyroid medication- they always state a Suggested > maximum dose. Guest guest
A home PC is not " solid state " (interesting term from the early-mid 60's when vacuum tubes were on the way out!!). A home PC has a moving hard drive, they often fail after 3-5 years, sometimes they go slowly as sectors become unreadable, or sometimes they fail quickly. Guest guest
As I have already stated- it depends on the person's health status and/or body build and that person's Genetics which affect how their thyroid functions and it's individualized dosage needs. Everyone is different! What works for the average person will not work for everyone! The doses that are listed by Forest pharm are Averages- not absolutes. -- Re: Weight gain on Compounded Time Released T3? > > I misunderstood other posts if they have reference only to the PDF from > Forest. Guest guest
The electronics are solid state unless you have a crt. In any event junking a pc because you need a new hard drive is a little like junking your car because you need a new radiator. New 500 gb hard drives now sell for $90 to $100 on sale. Mice and keyboards take a lot of abuse sometimes; but are cheap to replace. OTOH if your mb goes bad it's probably time to consider a new pc unless it's very new/high end. Or if you have a laptop whose screen is kaput. However, if you use processes such as extreme gaming or high end video programs a four year old model is obsolete. Actually there isn't a pc available today that will utilize all the features of X-Plane 9 set to max. I well remember when solid state was replacing vacuum tubes. That's about the time I stopped repairing TV sets. > A home PC is not " solid state " (interesting term from the > early-mid 60's when vacuum tubes were on the way out!!). Guest guest
No. I often read books or articles dealing with spiritual matters but seldom any dealing with religious matters. I do, however, find ph very informative. As for eating like a pig and living to 100 [or beyond] some people do. And some eat a healthy diet and die at half that. Besides, what is healthy today may be found to be unhealthy next year. > I can't imagine that putting up with you, or any man for that reason. > Could > make a woman ornery. > Well we can't eat whatever we wANT AND expect a super long life.
