My T4 is 1.1 (N)

Fre thyroxine l.71 (N)

What's this al about?

(Those numbers were on Levothyroxine and 1/2 Cytomel

The cholesterol medication was started years ago by my heart specialist,

who at that time was my primary care physician.

The elevated TSH was discovered years later during a routine physical by

my new primary physician, after my original doctor ceased family

practice and went into cardiac care only. I still use him for heart

care and cholesterol. The new doctor is the one who discovered the

elevated TSH and prescribes Synthroid for it.

The latest study on the dangers of low TSH said that problems were

detected when TSH was below 0.1 long term. However, yours may be that

way because of the Cytomel and may not be a problem. You can find

experts on either side of this. Same for the high FT3. If you feel good

on this, I would say don't mess with it and take the risk. If you still

have hypoT symptoms, then something else is going on.

hi sam could you send tour photos to me i would be interested in seeing your

successes in healing. the fact that you dont have overies maybe one of the

reasons for your success with armour.

i had a thyroidectomy at the end of january 07. and chuck the ranges are

incoclusive because of added or missing or malfunctioning body parts.

eventually the ranges will be more personalized, probably not in our lifetime

though. we need our own personal health data bank that our entire liftime

medical history is downloaded in, assigned like a social security number and

then when we get testing done it can access our personal history and give us a

better reading of ranges. i also have osterporosis and one of my parathyroids

have been removed. and it certainly makes a difference in how our medications

affect each and every one of us. this is a wonderful support group. and i

enjoy being part of this group with our down and ups. susan in michigan such

an interesting mix of thoughts.

Re: Hello there, y'all

I hope you got the fotos. <grin>

Have I said about the stressors in my life? They are HUGE, but I seem

to " now " be able to let them all roll off my back with ease. I

couldn't have done that while I was still hypO sick.

Wanna see my tattoo's? :-D

My heart specialist is happy with my Cholesterol _with_ me taking

Lipitor every day. Prior to the Lipitor it was higher. I don't know if

he will consider lowering it when I go in in a month or so or not.

I'm not happy with all the medications either as I think most things

have a far too high probability of undesirable side effects. Just this

past month I reduced two or 3 of my allergy medications; and when I next

see my heart doctor will probably discuss reducing the Lipitor and

Verapamil. I have no idea as to what will happen with the Synthroid,

because I don't have any numbers since sometime last year.

I'll try to remember to do so. Sometimes I hesitate, because a lot of

the self treatment here is far outside the guidelines of the best

science available. I'm sure I'd be looking for help outside the

guidelines if I had some of the problems discussed here; but I'd be

_very_ hesitant to recommend them to others even if they worked well for me.

Best of luck,

I got the photos. All I can say is it's really hard to believe they're

and one of the new ones as my daughter.

, could you send me your email private so I can send you my

Anyway, you're without a thyroid, too? Are you doing Armour dosed by

symptoms yet, or still on levoxyl? I, um, run the group

called " thyroidless " ... ;)

My health history was that I was pretty much as healthy as a bull

moose until I got " fixed " real good [extreme sarcasm] by a couple of

doctors. BLAAAAA!!!!! But I'm much better, now. <wink>

I do think that being without ovaries and a thyroid really impacted

me in the worst possible way. I did great on Armour and adrenal

support alone, but when I added natural bioidentical estradiol,

progesterone, and testosterone (all transdermals), it was like I

rubbed Aladdin's Lamp and got granted all my wishes.

I know, I am really shocked at the transformation I went thru, first

from hot young thing into an obese crippled old hag, and then back

into a hot not-so-young thing. I was only 38 when my thyroid was

killed. I lost over a decade of my life that I can never get back,

and that does indeed p*ss me off, but oh well...but NOW I get

to " make up for lost time " . <evil grin>

And thank you.

My tattooes are not x rated (but I've seen some really XXXXXX rated

ones on google images - oh man that must have been torture). I am WAY

to chicken for that, and oh my gosh they REALLY hurt. They are on my

left arm and that was bad enough. Just 3 or 4 more to go until I have

all the " decorations " I want. No anchors, snakes, scorpions, or

skulls, tho. :-D

Hi ,

That would be a great idea about the medical history,

but I would be worried that it would be used wrongly

by employers, insurance companies, and even the

government. They have too much information about

everyone already.

only pay $4 for a 30 day supply of armour from CVS. I am doing mail

Sam, you said:

" but when I added natural bioidentical estradiol,

progesterone, and testosterone (all transdermals)progesterone, an

rubbed Aladdin's Lamp and got granted all my wishes. "

hahahaha, you are soo funny, it is great reading your posts. I am taking

progesterone and testosterone too, as my boyfriend jokes when I get sassy:

" you're

ALL estrogen " ... we're trying to balance some of that out.

:-)

, could you send me your email private so I can send you my

moose until I got " fixed " real good [extreme sarcasm] by a couple of

doctors. BLAAAAA!!!!! But I'm much better, now. <wink>

I do think that being without ovaries and a thyroid really impacted

me in the worst possible way. I did great on Armour and adrenal

support alone,

body parts. eventually the ranges will be more personalized,

probably not in our lifetime though. we need our own personal health

data bank that our entire liftime medical history is downloaded in,

if you read the history of iodine and how it used to be used, you begin to

realize why it would be in big pharma's interest to associate it with " toxicity

and risks " . the only risk I can see is for someone who has a true iodine

allergy, which is very rare.

Gracia

I quite agree that the system encourages playing the odds, and doctors

don't treat the exceptions very well, either in the research performed

or the clinical setting. OTOH, high dose iodine is sufficiently unusual,

and counter to the literature on its toxicity and risks, that I would be

reluctant to recommend it to everyone just because it seems to work for you.

Jan-

I have been seeing a chiropractor in NYC and he does such an amazing job. It

is really making a huge difference for me. He does the pressure points too

.... sometimes it hurts pretty bad but then afterwards I feel GREAT!

Hi Jan,

I do have fibromyalgia too, so this makes sense. I

sure hope it helps for me. It's all complicated by

spinal stenosis and herniated discs.

fibro means you need more Armour and cortisol and DHEA. Definately more than

2 grains of Armour.

Why would they not add a version of iodine/iodide to their own product

line and advertise that it was more potent or more natural than the next

guy's version?

BTW, Lugol got an " exception " from the recent DEA ban on iodine or

iodide concentrations greater than a few percent. The catch is that you

are restricted to small containers, one ounce or less. Any more than

that, and they will assume you are manufacturing meth with it.

If there is a class action lawsuit and you win a hundred million dollars

the lawyers will probably get tens of millions of dollars each and you

[at the most] a few hundred.

Class action law suits don't net much. However, if you

think you have a case you can speak to an attorney,

for nothing I think, and they can take your case on

contingency. That means if you win, their fee and

expenses come out of the settlement, if you lose you

don't pay. But one caution, if you do choose an

attorney, make sure it's somebody with a good winning

record, and get everything they tell you IN WRITING.

Generally I think it's okay to kid around with people who know that's

what you're doing, aren't offended, and kid back. I also think Sam fits

that description.

A number of observations: I probably should never, even in jest, ask

you for anything x-rated; and I'll try to remember that. Two, yes; I'm

faithful, even under conditions you probably wouldn't expect.

Sorry if you were offended; I hope Sam wasn't too.

PS: Your personal worries may not be correct, but they have a good

chance IMHO.

Absolutely no offense taken whatsoever - I'm a tattoo'd biker chick.

Well, the " omygawd you're taking too much Armour " stuff is slightly

annoying, but nyah nyah.... <insert raspberry here>

Kidding around is great!
