Guest guest
It doesn't matter how much you put in; what matters is what's left for health care after the politicians and other associated bureaucrats and crooks take their cut. Guest guest
Neil, I think it is extremely narrowminded of you to assume that the people on medicare and medicaid are all old, stupid, and parasites on the rest of the Americans that work and pay taxes. The people on social security worked and paid taxes and social security fees all their lives. They are entitled to this insurance. The people on SSI are either very ill and/or injured and cannot work. Many people can end up poor and needing help, not because they never worked, but because of an illness or injury that eventually wiped out every penny they had. I certainly hope that you don't find this out by personal experience, but it could happen to anyone. Guest guest
Personally I think that if they hadn't used up monies meant for SS and medicare etc we would be fine. But they used for other things. We cannot trust our leaders to leave the money intended for SS alone. This is the main problem. We borrow from China ....maybe that is what the bible means when it talks about the yellow hoards....they will be coming to collect their money by taking over America. -- RE: Re: Fw: [thyroid] Dr Skinners Trial - UK Neil, I think it is extremely narrowminded of you to assume that the people on medicare and medicaid are all old, stupid, and parasites on the rest of the Americans that work and pay taxes. Guest guest
Oh yea, all politicians should be non-paid volunteers who may potentially get a modest stipend to cover expenses directly realted to their volunteer politican positions, and who are not allowed to benefit in any financial way from their political positions. Who would we then have to fill those positions hastily vacated by those who we now have in office? Enter a different class of individuals...perhaps those who are truely honorable? Guest guest
I asked my ARNP [Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner] why he didn't become an MD. He's very good and caring and nkows all his patients by name. He greets everyone in the waiting room, gves hugs, and tells jokes. He also smiles a lot, and everyone just loves him. He's the one that calls me " the girl that has to be different " due to my 11 grains of Armour, 50mg Iodoral, BHRT, etc, and that I'm all healthy and all that. Well, he told me he's not an MD because wants to actualy help his patients, not be under the thumb of the AMA. He also takes my health coverage, and gives me anything I need except money and a new car. Wadda guy. :-D I wonder if my ARNP got a PhD (doctorate) in nurse practitioning, if he'd then be called " Doctor Nurse " ... haha Sam :-D > > Thanks Roni.....but I have found a Nurse practioner that will do the test > and take medicare. > > Heck with Doctors. > >
Guest guest
> Neil, I agree about the " them " out numbering the " us " . I have researched moving to other countries, not just ones with Universal health care. And there are some HUGE hoops to jump through. For instance, to move to Australia you have to be under 41 years old, or have a an employer or family " sponsor " you. The reason behind this is that after 40 is when most health issues raise their ugly heads and they don't want a strain on their system, for good reason. But on the flip side we don't have anything in place in the US stopping anyone from coming here from other countries. Not that they shouldn't, but borders should be opened. It seems like a one way and not much going out. It's like continuously adding water to an already full pitcher and not pouring any out, it is over flowing, as we can all attest to the mass building in every area. Ideally I would like health care to be available to everyone in need. And food for everyone as well. The solutions don't come easy. Anyone have any insight? Bueller? Guest guest
Roni, My comments were my thoughts toward universal care, not Medicare. It was not my intention to strike a nerve. My comments were in response to Sam's post about everyone chipping in and paying twenty bucks a month toward universal care, and my comment would that there would be too many people excluded so that it would not work....., the poor, the illegal, the stupid, etc. Actually what I was thinking when I wrote the stupid comment are my neighbors. There house was almost paid for, but they took out a equity loan to buy two huge SUV's and a boat. But now his hours have been cut back and they are struggling to make their new huge house payments (no savings). I know they will be the " stupid " ones I end up paying for under universal care. Hey, I don't have a boat and my truck is nine years old. But I am not without heart for those truly in need. My own Grandfather died of a swift cancer when my Mother was 4. My Grandmother only spoke French as they had recently moved to California from Montreal. They were on county assistance for half a dozen years until my Uncles were old enough to work. Dirt poor and proud they were....six kids in the middle of the depression. Well, I have a question for you then since my terms strike a nerve. What words...what exact phrases would you use to describe the individual persons that make up the " special groups " that would be excluded from paying into universal care. Remember, as a govt. program you cannot be general in your description, you have to be specific. Guest guest
I hear New Zealand is really tight as well... I agree with absolutely everything you said....and I don't have the answers either. Neil _____ From: hypothyroidism [mailto:hypothyroidism ] On Behalf Of Ken & Jackie Reimer Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 4:13 PM hypothyroidism Subject: Re: Re: Fw: [thyroid] Dr Skinners Trial - UK > Neil, I agree about the " them " out numbering the " us " . Bueller? Guest guest
I think the government has an all-or-nothing mentality. Many people just need some temporary help, and shouldn't be made to use up their last penny to qualify for temporary help. Instead of helping, that serves to push people under and helps them drown. Health care is like everything else. Some people will need it fully funded forever because there would be no way for them to afford it on their own. However, others might just need partial or temporary help after an illness, accident or loss of work has strapped them. I think these people should be helped too. Yes there will have to be guidelines and benchmarks, but not the all or nothing programs that pervade our systems now. I'll give you one example. A person has a car accident, and is out of work for a while. The company ends up letting her go. She needs some healthcare help till she can get back on her feet, and will then be able to pay her fair share. This could never happen today. She would have to be truly destitute for this to go down. I think the system just creates more crises instead of crating strength. Roni --- neil <neilneil@...> wrote: > Roni, > > My comments were my thoughts toward universal care, > not Medicare. Guest guest
Oh, absolutely no doubt. When people have to exhaust all their savings and resources before they qualify for a little govt help....they will end up staying on that govt. help forever. So in that way the govt creates this class of people when it didn't really have to be that way at all. Guest guest
You're right that politicians spend the social security funds as fast as they come in, and replace them with a piece of paper that promises to tax future workers to pay you your benefits. They ALWAYS tend to take ANY money that you will give them; and often do not spend it for the purpose intended. That's one reason it's just stupid to give them any more than you have to. But social security was doomed from the beginning. It is a Ponzi scheme that would land you in prison if you set up a business using the same model. From the very beginning SS promised more output than the input could support. The reason it " worked " is that the time frame before it has to fail was several decades. So the politicians who foisted it upon us could live out their lives in splendor and be safely dead before the bills become due. There is at least one way to rescue it, but it's such a politically explosive matter that if a political party attempts to solve the problem then another political party will attempt to gain short term political advantage by scaring SS recipients by stating the first party is trying to take away their benefits. But this has gone far afield. Answer if you like, but I think we should cease to post such messages here. > > Re: Fw: [thyroid] Dr Skinners Trial - UK > <hypothyroidism/message/29827;_ylc=X3oDMTJxMDZiOWR\ iBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMjk4MjcEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE4NDc0OTc4NA--> > > > > Posted by: " " ronicamelian@... > <mailto:ronicamelian@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Fw%3A%20%5Bthyroid%5D%20Dr%2\ 0Skinners%20Trial%20-%20UK> > witchin39 <witchin39> > > > Tue Jul 17, 2007 12:02 pm (PST) > > Personally I think that if they hadn't used up monies meant for SS and > medicare etc we would be fine. Guest guest
Oooooh, I see... Well, under the Sam-system, they would be covered by the 1/4 who " were " able to pay 20 bucks a month. That 20 bucks a month paid by that many people would be aone hefty chunk of change. Maybe even too much for even today's greedy politicians to spend on dancing girls and cigars. <grin> About your neighbors? You won't have to pay for them, their SUV and boat will do 'em in... <wink wink> What phrases to describe those persons that would be excluded from paying into universal care? No phrases, really...if they fell under a certain income bracket, like the poverty line, they would be excluded. Sam :-D > > Roni, > > My comments were my thoughts toward universal care, not Medicare. It was not > my intention to strike a nerve. Guest guest
, ! We really " must " replace all politicians with flying monkeys... http://www.bigwood2littlewood.com/wiz/monkeysigned.jpg Then instead of spending billions of dollars a second on the military, we can use this instead: http://www.iarann.net/images/FlyingMonkeySecurity.png Sam :-D [ducking and running for cover] > > If we were stupid enough to increase income tax to 50% then there would > just be a lot more rich bureaucrats and politicians and crooks; and you > would get very little for your money. > > Do you really think governmental bureaucrats can spend your money more > efficiently on things YOU want??? > >

Guest guest
LOL go to http://www.michealmoore.com and there you can download and print a universal healthcare insurance card. It says to send the bill to Bush. my sister designed it. and have a nice day Gracia It doesn't matter how much you put in; what matters is what's left for health care after the politicians and other associated bureaucrats and crooks take their cut. According to my calculations there would be $1.49 left for health care...
