I seem to start a lot of my posts off with, Hi I haven't been here in

a really long time. It's still true. I stop in, whine, and leave.

Well, I'm going to start checking in on a regular bases again. I'm

sure that those of you who know me have missed my invaluable

information. :?)

For those of you who don't know me. I'm 45yrs old. Was diagnosed

with diabetes 2/14/75 (what a day to find out you're diabetic) and

AIH 10/2000. I also have your basic thyroid condition. I started

out on 60 mg prednisone, 50 mg imuran, and 1200 mg usodial. I also

suffer from severe depression. I take Welbutrin and Effexor for

that. I have an insulin pump which controls my diabetes (or

doesn't). It's having a hard time dealing with my other sh*t. I'm

currently on 5 mg prednisone, and the same amt. of imuran and

usodial. It has been an extremely slow process getting me down on

the prednison. My body hates it. Every time I drop my dosage 1 mg.

it takes me a month to recover. I had another bone density done

recently to find that I've lost some density and have osteopeinia.

Not quite osteoporosis. I'm sure this is due to the prednisone. My

bone density last year was excellent. I'm now on 70 mg. of Fosamax

once a week. I also take 1200mg. of calcium every day and drink a

lot of milk.

I know the last time I wrote here I talked about my neck. I had just

started going for adjustments. I had another MRI to find out that my

disc problem has worsened. I had gotten to the point where my

chiropractor could no longer keep my pain under control. I've since

started acupuncture which is doing a lot better. I'ld like to say

I'm pain free but atleast it's barable for now. I'm trying to put

off surgery for as long as possible.

I haven't worked since my AIH diagnoses. Most of my problems stem

from the meds. and my diabetes. I have not been able to keep it

regulated. I have applied for SSI and should hear soon what they're

going to do. I'm very lucky that I have disability insurance.

Normally I'm a teacher. That's not to say I'm a normal teacher!

Anything but.

Now I need info. from my old friends. How is Hunt, Tommy, Cheryl,Ty,

Aumesh's son (can't remember his name), Patty O, Jerry... EVERYONE.

I see that Harper's still up and about. Glad to see that. I'm glad

Patty's back. We should get together some time. We really should

meet. I have hear some from . I'm very worried about her.

I forgot to tell you all that I live in West Palm Beach, FL. Home of

the pregnant chad.

Just wanted to say to all to have a good week and weekend....I don't think I will have much time to get on here much before we leave very early...2am Thur ....Bob, Tyler and myself are all driving to Chicago to visit our daughter...Tys sister..lol...le and her boyfriend...she has lots of plans for us...we will only be gone for a long weekend....back on tues...but this is a well needed trip for all of us....

I hope to be able to get caught up when we get back...until then....good thoughts to everyone....

Darlene, don't you know most fathers don't approve of the men their little girl brings home. At least with the men our daughter hooks up with, Susy does not aprrove of them also. So in my case it is not just Daddy's little girl. A lot of mothers don't approve of the women their sons brings home. In my & Susy's case her parents, sister & brothers loved me & thought I was the best thing to happen to her. My parents felt the same way about her.

I have an Aunt who does not approve of the women her sons married or the women my other cousons & I married. But she does approve of the men my female cousons married.

He is a great guy. Works construction and helps me split wood - he meets my approval :-)

They have a Great Dane. He is so big he can sit on your lap when you are sitting! He is like handling a small horse.

Weather is perfect in NH now but heat is coming back for the weekend.

It's good to like your future relatives. Or to fake

it if you have to. My sister is married to a guy who

is supposedly abusive. (My sister can be verbally

abusive). My mother hates him, my sister now acts like

she hates him (but won't leave) and their adopted son

(6 year old) is out of control. To say the least,

family gatherings are now intolerable. I prefer to

keep my kids away as much as possible. I just hope I

can pretend to like my childrens' choices if I don't.

The weather here is rather pleasant this morning,

rather breezy. For Houston in August that's good.

I'm starting to get more biking in. I had my wife drop me off at work yesterday and rode my bike back. We have a "rails to trails" bike trail that takes me most of the way along the Fox River. It's about 11 miles. I'd ride to work, but I'd definitely need a shower when I got there... -dz-

It reminds me of a funny story about my ex father-in-law. He never approved of me in the beginning. I would stop over on a Saturday or Sunday and he would go to the fridge and get himself a beer and never even offer me one, though he knew I imbibed (at that time). The day my ex went in and showed him her ring, he asked "Well, ask Dave in for a beer!" and we were buddies from then on. (he passed away before our divorce). After we got engaged, every time I came over he would kid me and tell me, "Dave, you know it's not too late!". Over and over again I heard that. On our wedding day as the crowd walked out of the church to shake hands and kiss the bride, he shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said, "Dave, it's too late." -dz-

So in my case it is not just Daddy's little girl. A lot of mothers don't approve of the women their sons brings home. In my & Susy's case her parents, sister & brothers loved me & thought I was the best thing to happen to her. My parents felt the same way about her. Nothing new - just saying Hi. Did a small hike on Sunday - hot & humid - not much fun but got some exercise. Front brakes went in the truck but we spliced in a new piece of brake line and I'm back on the road. VERY dry here - been watering the garden and the well is holding ok. Alison (daughter) getting married in October. Things are getting strange with the women already. Never saw so much toodo over invitations, clothes, flowers, etc.
