Guest guest
How can you measure your Human chorionic gonadotropin????? How can I a test to measure it? Guest guest
To mesure Human Chorionic Gonadotropin it's just a blood test. This is a cut and paste about it from this link. It also has all the ranges for labs and what is the best levels. http://www.lef.org/protocols/appendix/blood_testing_01.htm ======================================================= Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Beta Subunit, Pregnancy This test is used to detect the beta subunit of HCG, providing a sensitive, specific test for the detection of early pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, or threatened abortion. ======================================================= I have never seen any ranges for hormones in the AACE Guildlines. Here is a link to the AACE Guildlines for Hypogonadism. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf Getting your Estradiol down to 40 pmol/L is to low in my units this puts you at 10 pg/ml the very bottom of the range. I and others taking Arimidex have gone this low and did not feel very good at all. You would do better to try for 70 pmol/L this is about 20 in my units here in the USA. Guest guest
Well lets see how your test looks and your Cortisol levels are very low. First thing I would do is get a saliva test that checks this 4x's in a day. Here are labs you can get the test with out a Dr. United Kingdom Labwork from NP Tech, where they will send out the kit for an ASI (adrenal stress test), plus sex hormones and a full thyroid panel etc. (thanks to “Mo” for this info) www.nptech.co.uk 5) United Kingdom Labwork from Red Apple Clinic. Thyroid, Adrenals, and others. (thanks to Crunchie for this info). www.redappleclinic.co.uk Do take the time to read this FAQ's about low cortisol levels do to Adrenal Fatigue. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/faq/ And this is a link to a famous Dr. in the UK that has a book about this. http://featherstone.bravehost.com/thyroid/peatfieldadrenal.html Dr.'s in the US and the UK don't look for Adrenal Fatigue they look at your test for disease. I don't feel that this is why your arms are longer but I do feel the stress of your not feeling will is taking it's toll on your Adrenals and if your saliva test shows your low you would do better to treat this. Guest guest
That GH test is not a good test to tell if your low and you did have the next one up (IgF 1) 785 (197-956) ng/ml. This shows your OK my levels came back at 220 and for my age it's good your a lot higher. And if this test were low then you do more testing like told you to find out if your GH is low. It takes a lot of testing to tell. But my LH is high, E2 is on the high end in the range, T is normalish, and my GH (growth hormone) is on the bottom bottom. Guest guest
Quote I am going to get my LEVEL from 120 to near 40 USING THE UK RANGES, which ARE 25-156. I am 120 in the UK ranges, and I want to be in the 40 in the UK ranges. Now do you get me? Unquote No not at all, what you are proposing to do is not only illogical it is a terrible idea that will adversely affect your health. Time and time again you have mentioned the US reference ranges as a reason for lowering your E2 level despite the fact that you E2 was measured in an entirely differing reference range. We have converted your E2 levels to the US range to show you what your levels are on that range and to show you that you are NOT very high in E2. Now you are saying you do recognize the difference in the reference ranges but want to get to 40pmol/l as in 40 on the UK scale. But why 40? Where do you get the number 50 from? Let me guess you get them because it is a number you recall from the US range (bangs head into wall). That is a totally inappropriate reference point. Listen 120pmol/l absolutely and unequivocally is NOT the cause of your problems. The problems you have stated in terms of growth would NOT be caused by that E2 level- NEVER. This E2 level is common in young men and in men generally in the normal populous that have NO growth problems at all. Your E2 level is a good E2 level for many men and a little elevated for other, but it is not overtly high. You have mentioned lowering your E2 to 40pmol/l. If you do that you will suffer from profound fatigue/exhaustion, bone pain, hot flushes and night sweats, you will feel much worse than any man who has hypogondism!!! Low E2 is an absolutely hellish thing to have. With E2 that low you would also kill your libido stone dead, make erections almost impossible- forget a semi erection- you wont have anything down there at that E2 level. You will also risk screwing your growth up completely as E2 is required for the proper conclusion of puberty. You risk throwing out your thyroid function, usually and sore throat is an indicator of that and on top of all this you could over time give yourself osteoproosis and ruin your bone density in spin and hips. Quote But my LH is high, E2 is on the high end in the range, T is normalish, and my GH (growth hormone) is on the bottom bottom. I will do more tests to determine more accuracy,,but 0.1 clearly explains my 4 inch off ratio spine,, what is wrong with me Uquote You say your LH is high, lowering E2 would increase it further- not decrease it. Also low or high LH is not a condition, there is no such thing as LH deficiency or excess- the only issue here is its effect on testosterone levels and your seem on the surface to be ok. Your Growth Hormone level is NOT low because it has been measured in a one off blood test which would appear low in most people. To find out if GH is low you need to have an evocative/dynamic test, such as the Insulin Tolerance test (ITT) or a Glucagen test. If you think you might lack GH you need on of this tests to find out what the situation is. To check your androgen status out fully you need to get your endocrinologist to test SHBG and free testosterone to if possible. So far you have had total/serum testosterone tested and that alone does not prove that there is no androgen issue so you need a more in- depth analysis that includes these tests and you sound as though you need a geneticists view on what could be the cause for your growth issues- one of the tests that should be included in a chromosomal test for Klinefelters/Kallmans etc. The question that you do rightly ask is; " What is wrong me me? " That question you raise is perfectly reasonable and a perfectly right question to ask. But at the moment you are clutching desperately at straws and making wild assumptions as to the cause of your problems and looking to self treat on the back of those…that can seriously mess you up which is why I am writing this to you- I don't want that to happen to you!! I know you might think I am just trying to make life tough and deny, your concerns, trust me I am not doing that, I am thinking about your best interests. The bottom line and what you need then; A test for SHBG A free testosterone test (I have found out these have recentlyt become available to some teaching hospitals in the UK- so you might be able to get this now) Either way the SHBG can be used to obtain a calculated free testosterone (CT). You need and Insulin Tolerance Test (ITT) or Glucagen test to measure your Growth Hormone levels. You need a genetic chromosomal test for androgen defects and you need a geneticist considering the potential causes for your clinical presentation. Lastly you need a competent endocrinologist considering any other causes that would allow for your clinical presentation. If you read nothing of my post take what I have wrote as the bottom line as a shopping list……get to your doctors and get them to investigate and please do NOT self treat. Sorry if I have sounded like I am giving you a hard time..not my intention at all. > __________________________________________________________ > > Answers - Got a question? Guest guest
You would need a test like, This is taken from Dr. 's site at www.allthingsmale.com in TRT: A Recipe for Success. • Total Testosterone • Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA " Free and Loosely Bound " ) • Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable) • DHT • Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or " sensitive " assay for males) • LH • FSH • Prolactin • Cortisol • Thyroid Panel • CBC • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel • Lipid Profile • PSA (if over 40) If your testosterone is low and your Estradiol is good with your LH and FSH low this could mean you have a Pituitary Problem for making testosterone. To tell if your Pituitary is why your Cortisol levels are low you would need an ACTH Stim. test read this link on how this test is done and how to read it. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=288 Manterno Salerno <brownsaucylicious@...> wrote: I believe my pituitary, adrenal and my thyroid is mashed up,,,and how can one know if one has hypogonadism by a specific test? and any one dont know of any usa hormone ranges known to be efficient, i need to get pituitary and adrenal and throid tested etc, hence all my probs remain killing me,,,and making me suffere,,,dam,,,i cant even live,,,im an outcast to ppl in my life,,,but im not gonna give up,, ok i take the e2 advice ,,,,,and tlk to my professor when i meet him, --- philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > To mesure Human Chorionic Gonadotropin it's just a > blood test. Guest guest
My results in the American Units: TSH 1.42 mIU/L Free T4 15.7 (12.0-22.0) pmol/L (UK unit) FSH 6.8 mIU/mL LH 7.7 lU/L Oestradiol 32.7 pg/mL Prolactin 4.94 µg/L Testosterone 478 ng/dL 17 OH-Progesterone 0.84 ng/mL Androstenedione 90.5 ng/dL Cortisol (Rdm) 7.4 µg/dL IgF 1 785 (197-956) ng/ml (UK unit) Binding Protein 3 5.33 (1.50-4.60) mg/L (UK unit) HGH came too low! Serum growth hormone = 0.1 ml.U/L (0.0 - 10.0) Supplementary Result (UK unit) Do I need anything else extra to test for within this test? On top MY GENETICS HAVE COME OUT TO BE NORMAL! MY GENETICAL TESTING IS NORMAL, WHICH IS A GOOD SIGN. (i will get my other testin this tues on my genes too) Now I am off ratio as my GH could be most likely LOW, but need more tests, but the simple test gives reason to my off ratio body. Also LOW Testosterone causes the LONG ARMS AND LEGS TO GROW. My testosterone is borderline and someone my age should be above 900ng/dL, not at 478ng/dL! On top, if someone has high LH, there TESTOSTERONE should be high too??? I have high LH, so why are my testicles still small and why do I only have 2% functional sperms??????? Also I shld be on 10.0 for my GH level in order to develop once on HGH, need more tests though. And can anyone explain what causes low GH?? on top, if one testicle is lost, does it mean the Testosterone level halves??? Also I had a hernia operation and undescended testicles. I had an ultrasound and it showed my testicles are fine! But I need a proper examination, can anyone recommend any tests? I am also getting a Doppler Study with Caverject done to see for any physical damage. CAN ANYONE NAME ME THE TESTS DONE TO CHECK FOR ANY CONDUCTIVE BLOOD LOSS WITH ELECTRICAL NERVE TRACINGS AS AN EXAMPLE? FOR MY GROINS AND MY TESTICLES AS WELL AS MY PENIS, I NEED A FULL CHECKUP. As my genetics are normal, can I still have some form of hypogonadism???? How can I test/check for which form of hypogonadism i av???? My t is borderline I need it to be above 900 (as my reason above explains partly why i.e. long arms and boyd my age shld be high not just above the t level of older men), my e2 is 120 in the UK units, it would be better to get it at 60 to 70 in the UK units (high e2 causes testicle shrinkage and my penis etc have not developed from as far as i can remember age 10 and 11, which also explains on hormonial probs >>> but also I need HGH too to help me grow my off ratio spine within the next 6 years (i am 19). CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A RX DETAIL on how and what dose I should take and how regularly etc please for HGH???? Can someone also tell me HOW I CAN USE HCG TOO (AS I DO HAVE TINY TESTICLES and 2% sperm count)?? And also an RX for Testosterone therapy too??? use my case and my results as a guide, so i can show it to my proffesor (who is paediatric and adoloscence endocrinologist) I am going to take all this information to my professor, and use it as a guide to help solve my case. Summary: -T is not where it should be for a 19 year old, -E2 is a little bit high -LH is high, causing a concern why am I only 2% sperm functional and why are testicles small, and why is Testosterone still low, as HIGH LH should produce MORE Testosterone (hcg is used to boost t, but it boosts LH to boost t, and my LH is high, but T normal, something is going on???) -Need RX for HGH & HCG (and even perhaps T therapy, but the cause of why t is borderline and LH is high needs to be found too, but any RX detail on T therapy will help me a lot,,) -Names for physical examination on groins, penis and testicles. -Can I still have some form of hypogonadism,??? & how can i check/test for which type of hypogonadism i av???? -Any extra tests I need for my whole case and endocrine aspect, (I have some already i.e. ITT, SHBG, Free testosterone, ACTH Stim and saliva test through the adrenal stress level test, that i got from this group, thnx every1 xx) > any more? -Any particular Testosterone testing and its types that need to be checked for? -if one testicle is lost, does it mean the Testosterone level halves??? NOTE: MY CASE IS DIFFERENT. I AM A TEEN GROWING INTO A MAN, I AM NOT YET A FULLY DEVELOPED ADULT. SO MY CASE IS A LOT DIFFERENT... NOTE: I AM TAKING THIS TO MY PROFESSOR IN 2 WEEKS TIME, TO TALK AND DISCUSS WITH MY PROBLEM AND USE IT AS AN EXAMPLE, GUIDANCE, etc etc TO HELP SOLVE MY CASE. extra: when i find anything cute, my chews itself, it is not deliberate but it happens on top my cheeks get tired and all cuddly etc, this is not deliberate, it happens autmoatically on the word go! Guest guest
-what causes GH (growth hormone) to be low???? -And i am askin on the testicle part (i.e if one testicle is lost, so is the testosterone level halved?), as both my testicles are small, but one is very small, (my left one is small & my right one is very small, by 2x or 3x smaller than my left one) on my report of my " Testicular Ultrasound " it said: " " " " The right testicle and the right epididymis are reduced in size. The right testicle measures 2.78cm in length and 1.49cm in maximum AP diameter. However, the right testicle appears of normal homogeneous echogenicity with no evidence of focal lesions or diffuse parenchymal changes. Normal blood flow was demostrated to the right testicle on colour Doppler. The ultrasound appearances of the left epididymis and the left testicle are normal. No abnormal fluid collection is seen. There is no evidence of varicocoele formation " " " " So far, the genes and the ultrasound show something is up with my hormones, which I believe it is, as I slightly explained why in my last post. My left testicle is not normal in size though and especially my rigth testicle. so something is up with my hormones as my genetic test and ultrasound test on the testicles are normal. it concerns me why r my testicles so small and why do i only have 2% functional sperms though.......i am going to get a doppler ultrasound with caverject to see any damage to penis. and i need more on my testicle and my groin areas to see any damage, as i had undescended testicles and a herina. So far, i am concluding something abnormal is going on with my hormones, i.e. high LH, but borderline Testosterone(and i am sick and tired of ppl sayin my t is ok, it is not, i am 19! it is 498 in american units, remember FOR MY AGE I SHOULD BE 900+) --- philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > You would need a test like, This is taken from Dr. > 's site at www.allthingsmale.com in TRT: A > Recipe for Success. > > • Total Testosterone > • Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA " Free and Loosely > Bound " ) > • Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is > unavailable) > • DHT > • Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or > " sensitive " assay for > males) > • LH > • FSH > • Prolactin > • Cortisol > • Thyroid Panel > • CBC > • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel > • Lipid Profile > • PSA (if over 40) > If your testosterone is low and your Estradiol is > good with your LH and FSH low this could mean you > have a Pituitary Problem for making testosterone. > To tell if your Pituitary is why your Cortisol > levels are low you would need an ACTH Stim. test > read this link on how this test is done and how to > read it. > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=288 > > Manterno Salerno <brownsaucylicious@...> > wrote: > I believe my pituitary, adrenal and my > thyroid is > mashed up,,,and how can one know if one has > hypogonadism by a specific test? and any one dont > know > of any usa hormone ranges known to be efficient, > > i need to get pituitary and adrenal and throid > tested > etc, hence all my probs remain killing me,,,and > making > me suffere,,,dam,,,i cant even live,,,im an outcast > to > ppl in my life,,,but im not gonna give up,, > > ok i take the e2 advice ,,,,,and tlk to my professor > when i meet him, > > --- philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > > > To mesure Human Chorionic Gonadotropin it's just a > > blood test. Guest guest
I don't know how much more we can help you. Here is a chart showing avg. levels of testosterone in a man over 24 hrs. They peek at about just over 400. I hope it opens for you. http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachments/male-anti-aging/17359d1179362424-norm\ al-daily-testosterone-testosterone-20levels-20over A lot of the questions your asking we here is the US can't help you with in the UK but you can go and post this at this site in the UK. http://www.andropause.org.uk/newforum/forum_frameset.htm HCG will not help you your body makes a lot of LH and HCG acts like LH. Your higher LH and FSH with your T levels in the 400's tells me your body is asking for more testosterone and your Testis can make more. Your E2 is a little high and if your get it down to 70 from 120 you might feel better and your TT and FT should go up some. Your Cortisol is very low and you need to do more testing on it. Manterno Salerno <brownsaucylicious@...> wrote: My results in the American Units: TSH 1.42 mIU/L Free T4 15.7 (12.0-22.0) pmol/L (UK unit) FSH 6.8 mIU/mL LH 7.7 lU/L Oestradiol 32.7 pg/mL Prolactin 4.94 µg/L Testosterone 478 ng/dL 17 OH-Progesterone 0.84 ng/mL Androstenedione 90.5 ng/dL Cortisol (Rdm) 7.4 µg/dL IgF 1 785 (197-956) ng/ml (UK unit) Binding Protein 3 5.33 (1.50-4.60) mg/L (UK unit) HGH came too low! Guest guest
" HCG will not help you your body makes a lot of LH and HCG acts like LH. Your higher LH and FSH with your T levels in the 400's tells me your body is asking for more testosterone and your Testis can make more. Your E2 is a little high and if your get it down to 70 from 120 you might feel better and your TT and FT should go up some. " Thnx for all your help. But what worries me is the following: My LH is very high, and that means my testosterone should be near 900. In pubertal teens testosterone should be peaking, but I come borderline. I am not an adult or an older man, I am a young boy growing into a man, so my testosterone should be on the higher end. I turn out to be 498, about 200 higher than of old men's level. this is odd. on top, what is also odd, if my LH is high, then why is my T not high? You said, my higher LH and FSH with my T levels in the 400's tells you that my body is asking for more testosterone and my Testis 'can' make more. Ok, but again, due to my age, and being a pubertal teen I should hit 900. on top, why is it that my testicles are small??? I also do not have many functional sperms, only 2%! This strikes a serious issue. And my LH is high, so why not my T? Something else is going on, and I need an mri of my glands and further testing. But to clarify, could it be that my E2 being at 120 is not healthy FOR ME. And that 'high' E2 causes, testicle shrinkage, sperm count to be very low, prevents penile growth, and stops erections and decreases orgasm volume. HCG is used to increase sperm count and testicle volume. It produces LH to produce T, eventually causing a rise in sperm count and an increase in testicular size. But, I already have high LH as you say, BUT, my TESTOSTERONE IS IN THE NORMAL RANGE, BUT REMEMBER I AM A YOUNG GUY, I AM NOT LIKE THE OTHER GUY'S ON THIS GROUP, AND A PUBERTAL TEEN LIKE ME SHOULD BE ON 900. The concern is, if my LH is high, what is going on with my sperm count and testicle volume? Could it be that my main problem for ME ME ME, is the E2? As I am 120, if i go to 60ish, I could work better, and then less of my T will not be antagonized by the E2. --- philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > I don't know how much more we can help you.
