Dear Friends: Is anyone having weight loss?? 2 years ago I had 60 lbs

of weight gain from an ankle break. Now, the only good thing I can say

about contracting Lyme disease is that I've lost 15 lbs. since I got

sick in August! It seems to have stabilized now that I am on I.V.

though.

Hi Lovette,

You are one of the few who are fortunate enough to lose weight with Lyme

disease, most of us gain weight. I am sure you would much rather be healthy

than thin, all of us would. There has been discussion on this list about

the thyroid function being attacked by the Lyme bacteria...I believe that

can happen. In my own case, I go through stages of being ravenous, and then

switch to not wanting anything to eat all all. Go figure?

all i have is 1 cup of 1% or fat free milk in my coffee....b

Feta cheese is ok on the Candida diet? I have been avoiding it (and it's a

personal favourite since I love those greek salads) so Chestnut's post made

me wonder since she made it for her son...

Feta cheese is ok on the Candida diet?

Feta cheese is supposed to be okay because it´s goat cheese.

I cannot tolerate dairy products, so I chew two lactaids before having dairy.

I often wondered why I could stomach feta cheese (after forgetting to take

my lactaid prior to having it, and then after realizing, tried an experiment

and could STILL stomach it) and then when Holly posted that it was made from

goat's milk, it got my curiosity aroused and makes me wonder what exactly the

difference between goat's milk and cow's milk.

Im not really sure about that, since I was diagnosed

with the thyroid long before I had any children and

Aih after I had had them. Maybe your doc. can answer

those questions. Sorry I couldnt help with this.

Hi Jen.. You see my doctors think that Steohepatitis is what caused my Cirrohsis.. That is fatty liver.. Also I have AIH.. So he is thinking if I lose the weight then maybe that will stop from getting more fat built up in my liver..

I don't actually think it will slow down the progression.. But the extra fat will just speed it up.. Am I making since?? I go to a Hepatologist in a Major Hospital in Peoria, IL March 27th..So he'll be able to tell me more.. Hope this has cleared some stuff up.. Believe me, I'm just as confused as you are.. lol

Hugs,

Deb

Deb and Jen.... The treatment for Fatty Liver is to lose weight.. that`s

how it is treated. Any type of liver disease is treated by slowing it`s

progression by eliminating it`s cause. Fatty liver is caused by being

over weight, People who have alcoholic liver disease are treated by

stopping drinking and so on..... there is no other treatment for

cirrhosis.

Please read the page I sent before on Fatty liver .I will send it again.

Jen, be very, very certain you're understanding correctly about having "some weight on your body to build bone density." I believe there are methods that are probably safer and more effective to deal with bone density.

Ok... thanks

I remember now that when they first thought I had fatty liver they mentioned

weight loss. That was years prior to my diagnosis. Now with cirrhosis its

not anything my doc is concerned about. Actually with the intake of

prednisone he (gastro doc) would prefer I have some weight on my body to

help build some bone density (if that makes sense). Thanks a bunch.

P.S. thanks for the INFO JERRY on Fatty liver and cirrhosis.
