ARE YOU ON DIGEST RUSS?? To help the general sick feeling, remember

garbage in garbage out. I felt that way for several years, but rarely

do now, diet has a lotto do withit. The heat doesnt help. Its

brutally hot here now, stay cool and drink lots of water.

cindy on her 2nd glass of barleygreen for the day

:) Hi Sheryn, Barley green is toted as the perfect food, i guess you could

live on it:) It is rich in phyto chemicals associated with green vegetables

and very very high in protien:) We tend to be anemic (anemic can be to lack

things other then iron) with our stripped diets, and this is a good

supplement I think. Particularly to vegetarians and veggians. I do feel

more energy when i take it regularly. Your body assimilates it rapidly I

think because it offers things to your body that you wont get, even with a

good multi vitamin. This is a food. That is what your body is designed to

use:) Being a plant juice tho and a natural substance I recommend people

start taking a small amount at first and building up. If you dont normally

eat many vegetables you will have a reaction (gas pain, intestinal upset,

diarrhea). So go slow at the start. Too much info??:) ~~Lowi

that was a good description lorie. yes go slow because I know a few

who had adverse reactions to it at first. this was all intestinal and

just the barleygreen reacting with toxins in your system. but you

cant just drink BG and think you'll be healthy, you must drink a lot

of water, no soda (sorry for those who are pro soda/sugar, simple

truth is sugar affects us in negative ways only, ive research this

for years from dozens of sources and even with all i know i still eat

some but have cut back for most part, its a hard addiction to quit).

but yes the barleygreen can make a difference if you go about it

right. lorie, what brand do you use, AIM?

health food store or online, AIM Barleygreen, you must read up and

drink lots of water too. I drank one glass a day for last fewyears

missing day here and there, I am now drinking 3 a day religiously and

my leg pain is easing. this is just me, im taking other supplements

(probiotics, flax fiber, digestive enzymes) too and my diet changes.

plus been juicing a lot and eating raw veggies. " drastic times call

for drastic measures " is my new motto. heres a good link:

it was me Russ. I dont like to preach much here because its a personal

choice and ive self educated myself and continue to, if i didnt have

nf2 Im sure id be enjoying a sugarry coffee in the morn like everyone

else. Ive never heard of glycoscience but just did a web search and it

looks interesting. as simple as i can put it is im not afraid of dying

from nf2 but i am afraid of wasting away and dieing a painful death

with pneumonia, paralyzed, unable to eat or breath or go to bathroom

myself. what does this have to do with anything? im just trying to

find the ultimate way to keep my body strong and not feed it toxins

and maybe my tumors will not grow enuf to need more surgery, but if i

do have more surgery id like to be strong enuf to bounce back. and let

me tell you, when we are young its fairly " easy " but it catches up

with you fast and when in 30's or older the surgeries bcome harder to

bounce back from, look at the stats. if i was feeling generally sick

id take a hard look at my diet and exercise level, they wont cure nf2

but cvan go a long way in making us feel better.

Well.... have thought a great deal about your post and saw that did a

reply. I have not done any studies.....just went from trial and error. I

keep a diary years ago on what I ate (gosh it wasn't much) and found out

that almost every thing I was tough to eat was bad for me. I was in such

pain and the Doc just said it was from NF2 and wanted to put me on all kinds

of pain killers.....sorry but that is not the way I want to spend the rest

of my life.!!!

So many foods contain sugar that you wouldn't even dream of!!!!

It is a proven fact that sugar causes cancer tumors to grow. Sugar in

different forms that I never even knew about

i,e.

we were tough that a good breakfast was

Orange juice 8 oz glass Carbo

Toast or Cereal any kind Sugar Pops or Rolled Oats ....if it is made from

a grain .....its a Carbo

or say two pieces of toast Carbo

Pancakes Carbo

Biscuits Carbo

the list goes on and on

Now then lunch time arrives...

Glass of milk Carbo

Tomato Sandwich with Lettuce mmm sounds great...the only thing that is not

a Carbo is the Lettuce!!!

Supper

Potatoes Or Rice Carbo

Carrots Carbo

Peas Carbo

Meat Protein

Desert Carbo

Don't get me wrong.......I enjoy a Chocolate bar once in a while........did

you know there was less sugar in a large Chocolate bar then there is from a

handful of grapes??? Me I'll .......take the Chocolate bar before grapes

every time!

My body tells me when I have O/D'd on SUGAR. I HAVE ALL KINDS OF ACHES AND

PAINS from it.. Was even diagnosed with Fibromalgia but it was the sugar

that was causing all the pain.

If you want to find out more write me at

Yes Marnie, you're so right. Could you get together with and Lori and

compare data and write up the NF2 diet, as requested from NZ. And Marie,

your Mum is right about the lutein too...

My only concern and confusion is with the carbo in fruit and veg..I just

have to believe these are good for you. How do you balance this out?

i get the JUST BARLEY green juice brand, distributed by an outfit in Long

Beach California. I get it at a heath food store Marie. Its a green powder

you mix a rounded teaspoon to 6 oz water or juice. Mixed it is bright

green (think the potion on Rosemarys baby!!) Its not slimey tho, and tho

not what everyone is used too, i like it:) I got the big jar last time and

its $17.95 for 80 servings:) is soooooooooo right too. You need to

try to adopt a healthy lifestyle, all the suppliments in the world wont be

of help otherwise. is the one that turned me on to BG:) Thanks

:)

I really think Marnie is on something with a low carb diet. Carbs burn fast

and hot and they alter your blood sugar level extremely. I have tried this

myself but im not good at what to eat. ( the Barley Green juice is .5 carb

a serving by the way) To eat less carbs its like the difference in burning

gas to deisel:) I was shocked at how good i felt. I havent kept it up tho

because im not really sure what i can eat. Also i have kids at home still

and cook for them, and i dont wanna cook something else for me?? Sugar is a

carb:) but its good:) oh well, im trying to learn~~Lowi

the veggies that are better for you are like cabbage and brussel sprouts,

broccoli, zucchini and califlower. The list is huge at the atkins site.

The starchy ones (lotsa carb and sugares) are like potatoes, carrots, peas

and corn. So you still eat lotsa veggies but you change what you serve. On

fruits best choices are all berries, rhubarb and stone fruit like cherries,

plums, nectarines and peaches. Tricky huh?? I still eat the others just

not as much~~Lowi
