I was thinking along these lines last night. On Nick At Night the

main sponser is Carnation Good Start. I told Dh that I couldn't

figure out why not one person will pay for some kind of pro-

breastfeeding ad. I'm sick of seeing a formula commercial 10 plus

times in a matter of 3-4 hours! Even most LLL groups don't do

anything to get the word out. They usually support those

breastfeeding but don't try to get people to breastfeed.

The main problem is that Nestle is a HUGE corporation with a multi-million

dollar marketing budget. LLL is a non-profit organization. Unless they get

free air time, they cannot afford commercials.

Same here...I can't wait to start nursing...hopefully in the next week or so!!! And those newborn diapers..oh how fun....

I actually feel so sad when their poop isn't the meconium anymore...*sniff sniff...*

Hold on!!! I don't even want to know where my I-Q, ACT or SAT scores would

have been if I'd been breastfed instead of formula fed. I had wonderfully

supportive parents who got involved in my education, gave me every

opportunity to succeed (or to learn from my non-successes), and made sure

that the schools I attended challenged me as much as I needed. They did the

same for my brothers, but they treated us as individuals at the same time.

I think that you are attributing to ff vs. bf a key element of the nature

vs. nurture debate.

Rhonda, it's sarcasm, okay, but a little thick, huh?

Could we take this off the list?

Amen, Llanda. I have recently had to reassure a friend who is pumping bm

for triplets that I will support her even if she can't continue to do this

until her babies are a year or whatever.
