ME TOO! I thought I was the only freak that did that! I had them every day one summer in junior high. :o)

Speaking of the Ramen noodle packaged one, when I was younger I would eat raman noodles not as soup, but just the noodles and the seasoning packet. YUM. Is this possible to do with these as well?

We eat the Lemongrass one and the Curry one.....yummmmmmm! And they make

it also in a Ramen Noodle style packaging...you don't pay for the bowl that way. I get

them at Whole Foods for $.69. Have a whole drawer full of them at work! : )

My non GF son likes regular Ramen Noodles. I make my version of " GF

Ramen Noodles " for our daughter by using the GF Thai Kitchen Noodles

and I use the Herb-Ox brand chicken bouillon to season them (simply

b/c our daughter likes that seasoning instead of the ones included

with the Thai Kitchen Noodles). Sometimes I buy rice vermicelli

noodles from the Asian section of our huge Global Foods Market and

cook them the same way. They are about 99 cents and I can make at

least a dozen batches of " GF Ramen Noodles " with them. Also, I

recently found an instant noodle bowl that contains a soy based

noodle. The actual soy noodle is GF, but the seasoning packet

inside the bowl is not. The seasoning packet is in an enclosed

packet, so I plan to just toss it. However, I will add hot water to

the instant soy noodles and some herb-ox instant chicken bouillon

and see what happens. I can't think of the brand of these noodles

off hand as I'm not on my kitchen computer right now.... If anyone

wants to know, remind me and I will check the pantry and let you

know. I found these at Big Lots in Stafford, VA for about 69 cents

per package. I was there loading up on valentine's stuff for pre-

school.

I had a roommate in college who ate ramen noodles ALL the time. She

would top them with things like Salsa, Grape Jelly, Spaghetti Sauce,

Sour Cream, Peanut Butter, etc. Basically any condiment in our dorm

fridge was a prime source of becoming a topping on her ramen

noodles. The salsa one seemed to be the most odd.

I like ramen noodles too, but I'm a bit more basic with the

flavorings. And who says a quarter can't buy anthing these days?

That could get ya at least one or two packs of the gluten containing

ramens noodles.

You think SALSA is the oddest topping for ramen noodles? How about the jelly or peanut butter...I think THOSE are the weirdest! Never in a million years would that occur to me. And honestly, the peanut I get but jelly????

I think I was grossed out by the fact that she would use the

seasoning packet (even the shrimp flavored packet, chicken, beef, or

whatever) and THEN would top it with one of those toppings I

mentioned. Shrimp flavored ramen noodles topped with salsa... Ewwww!

LOL! I used to purposely keep them intact. Then I would slowly wind them, one by one, around the fork. I would watch an entire episode of Young and the Restless while eating my noodles!
