Erfa adn T4 all slowly leave th ebody over several weeks., It is safe to

just stop them as your own thyroid will be still makeing SOME thyroid

and it wil oick uyp what it is able to do to carry you till you can

tolerate T3.

Thanks Val...

What we found out was that after going down to as much as 50/75 mcg of T4-only

every other day (this was earlier this year in the spring before I got my AF

diagnose and started with HC and met new specialist!) was that my Thyroid gland

itself is perfectly working normally. I have to underline that I have

HYPOTHYROIDISM TYPE 2.

I just wonder what I'll be doing tomorrow! Guess it's ERFA some more days? I

dunno.... Should I try to increase it and see what happens?

Increasing ERFA is unliekly to help either. It contains alot more T4

than T3 thus it may be slower in producing more RT3 butit WILL produce

more RT3. I tried for 15 yeras every combo of nbatural thyroid and

natural plus T3 and stil never got rid of RT3 until I went to just T3.

You need ot not try to raise it until your Ferritin is decnet and

cortils well supported then you raise THYROID by raising T3 only.

NOt necessarily;/ But what you are loking for is for T3 ot be able to

reach the cells on a reasonable dose wihtout issues form it. Reducing

RT3 in the blood to 0 doesnlt even guarantee it is out of the receptors

onyl time and enough T3 does that.

HI Val,

I'm interested in this. I was taking 2 grains Nature THroid and then switched to

100mcg Synthroid. I was on the synthroid 3 weeks but hated it and stopped. I was

then only taking 37.5mcg of Cytomel for 6 days and took labs.

My Thyroxine t4 was 4.3 (4.5-12.0). THis isn't the free, right? I don't know why

this doctor didn't take FT4, he's pretty good with this stuff.

Anyhow, it's below normal. Does that mean I still had T4 in my body, but the

little in the blood was low? I continued for a few more weeks on only Cytomel,

but have now added in 1 grain Erfa.

Typo on my part and language slippage, it was a sensible size step,

you can make a big reduction in T4 like that and the body levels very

Serum levels follow T4 input very slowly. You can stop it and not

notice for a few days.

Erfa and T3 are much quicker.

As your circulating level of T4 drops you can then increase either

synthetic T3 or Erfa so that the additional T3 makes up for what is no

longer converting from your T4.

Yep, in about 4 or 5 days you MIGHT notice it, depends how well you

were converting. If needed add another half or full grain of Erfa

No, add another half grain soon and another in a week or so if you are

going the Erfa route, you need to decide which way to go.

No point in new bloods yet, you are hypo, Add half a grain in a couple

of days and another half in another 3 or 4 as long as pulse and

temperature are behaving

Low or high of either. Typical resting pulse targets are between 75

and 90. Temperature target is an average of 37C done on the graphing

times

Val, this is an emergency - I feel I might be at the end of my road - My heart

feels so ticklish and weird (much like when I got atrial fibrillation i January

2009)

What do I have to do right now to save my life? I have NO IDEA what's happening

with my heart other than it beat SO SLOWLY (30 bpm + uneven heartbeat) for 20

seconds about 15 mins ago.

* rT3 can block T3 to the heart?

* Too much HC can give me CHF?

* HYPO can give me CHF?

* I just take way too little ERFA Thyroid.

* I stopped taking 50 mcg T4 yesterday. Is this dangerous?

I am so scared!!! ER tells me to just relax and go to my GP to " talk " !!

No

I would keep taking your pulse a few times, if there are " missing

beats " then count that time interval as though it was a beat. They are

common in hypo.

If it's under 60 then take an extra half grain, it won't hurt and you

can be assured that it will have replaced the missing 50 as that is

worrying you.

Go to the hospitaland ask for an electrolyte panel. You do NOT have CHF.

Stoppign T4 meds never killed anyone. RT3 takes over 30 years to kill someone.

HC would take over 300mg taken daily for MONTH S to cause CHF. I agree wiht your

ER that oyu need ot talk to your doctor to aliviate these fears. FEAR is a

symptoms of low cortils not high.It produces adrnealine which can make you even
