Guest guest
Amazing! How they all said your thyroid is just fine! wow! what is syncrap? synthroid? Is it just you who had such a bad response to it or do most people on synthroid end up with these kinds of problems? My dd's doc told her to get onto synthroid, and I said to doc: i'm a thyroid patient myself and it is not so simple as popping a synthroid pill. It is a lot more complicated than that. And doc looks at me as though I'm a loony. Another health nut. Another anti-pharmaceutical patient. These docs don't begin to have a clue! I can't wait to feel well and start a massive campaign in my community; educating the masses about thyroid-related issues. So many here have endometrosis, miscarriages, thyroid nodules, anxiety, ocd, (all adrenal related, right?), and these folks turn to psychiatrists for relief, it irks me.... Guest guest
Just amazing .. Thanks for sharing this with us! I am glad you made it. Thanks for speaking up to this community! So you never took any HC? Just added sea salt to your diet, along with the Armour? If you had a rT3 problem, shouldn't you have started taking T3 alone? And did you do cortisol tests back then? And what was your rT3 like back then, as well as your ratio? Or didn't you know anything about these things back then? Your story reminds me a little (just a little though) about mine.. I got myxedema from age 13 and up to 18.. Was finally put on T4.. Lost like 115 pounds in less than 1 year on the T4.. Lived a healthy and quite good life for 10 years.. Then, sadly, things changed, and I got majorly stressed in May 2007 and stressed more and more and more throughout the year.. Until it all ended with a serious case of Atrial Fibrillation, in January 2008 - That lasted for 20 minutes and I thought I was gonna die! But I survived. THIS is when the clueless NEW docs that came into my life at that point did the mistake: Removing my T3 at once, and increasing my T4 temporarily with the goal of removing T4 as well. Cause I never had one bad blood sample - The blood samples always showed I was healthy and not Hypothyroid, before I ever took any T4. They got upset on me for going to a specialist that treated me with T4/T3 even if my blood samples were normal back in 1997 when I got diagnosed by the specialist! They don't believe in the Hypothyridism Type 2 theory. They told me, last year, that " you have never been sick! only mentally! " (uhh where did the extra 115 lbs come from in my teens then? my head? I have photos to prove it!) This is the kind of Hyoothyridism I have had since I was 13. I am now 31 and worse than ever after they attempted removing all my meds. So all this probably happened because I developed Adrenal Fatigue in 2007, got high cortisol (probably, I am just guessing!) and finally uneven lowish cortisol the next year. Even if blood samples and urine samples showed that my cortisol was within the " normal " range, I had all the symptoms of low cortisol. A 24 hour saliva test confirmed that my adrenals were not working 100% correctly. Here are my test results from May this year: http://www.nightrangerweb.net/cortisol.pdf - What do you guys and girls think about those results? Enough reason to put me on HC? Sometimes I wonder if I needed HC at all, but, I must have needed it - I was SOOOO lazy all through 2008 and into 2009. Got better after only 1 day on 2.5 mg HC, and kept increasing the dose, clueless of where to stop. I am now on 20 mg HC and have no idea if I need to go up or down. rT3 can still very well be the culprit. But there are just too many things that can be the cause of my ouchies, that I have no idea what to look for. > > I had congestive heart failure and a BP of 245/148 for bit over 2 > years. Guest guest
But I don't get why you improved with Armour if you had rT3 blocking your T3? Horrible, horrible doctors................. I am SO glad you took control of your own health! I am so impressed!!! I always had tachycardia. Everything from EVERY night to 4-5 times a year. Ever since I was 13. Thousands of times. Literally. Guest guest
Unfortunatle MANY people are dyign of congestive heart failure and I am wondering how many of them simply have lwo T3 or HIgh RT3. The doctors think CHF causes Euthroid Sick Syndrome, which is basically high RT3 which is a protective measure of th ebody when it cannto tolerate T3, BUT I believe it is the high RT3 causing the CHF. For me it certinly was. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
That was a long time and alot of research ago. Back then I never knew ot get RT3 tested nor did I knwo what it did or why. Guest guest
ANY tT3 was better than none. When in myxedema what you die from is fluid in the lungs and chest, or basically CHF . T3 would have pulled me out of it faster btu Amrour did pull me through it and I was dabbling wiht T3 as well then but I did nto knwo how ot dose it. I was scared of it from all I had been told and only would take 20mcg a day wiht my Armroiu. I am sure it kept me alive btu it was not until the last couple years thta I went to all T3 and learned how to really clear out RT3 and get unhypo wiht it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
I am more and more suspicious about rT3. Simple story: Bad doctor raised my T4 meds, because she took away my T3. Immediately, I got a strong pressure in my head - Lasted for 8 months. Only disappeared when I lowered my T4 medication. I now take less T4, but have added ERFA Thyroid. Which is more potent. Acording to conversion tables, I have now increased my T4 intake with 25 mcg total, since 6 days ago when I took ERFA Thyroid 1/2 grain for the first time. The pressure, from last year, came back 2 days ago. I still feel weird today, and a bit heavy'n slow. (Hyposymptoms) Doesn't all this add up to the fact that rT3 is messing with me? Will do FT3/FT4/TSH/rT3 blodwwork tomorrow. Answer to that in about 1 week. Thanks! > > Sea salt for one! They had me on a no salt diet for 2 years to try to > lower my BP and fluid reteniton. Guest guest
BTW: Just in case of an " emergency " here.. How do I make the switch from being on 50 mcg T4 and 1/2 grain ERFA Thyroid for 1 week? (6 day today) - I was previously taking 75 mcg T4 and 5 mcg T3. Guest guest
Wow, that's some heavy stuff right there... And that fluid is... Mucus, right? Like Mark Starr describes it. Normal heartpatients retain water. Hypothyroid retain, or create, this Mucus. So you were on synthroid before you switched to Armour? Atually, in the past 3 years, I've felt my lungs having some kind of symptom, like, when I wake up in the morning, and breathe In, I feel like this kind of... gargling/vibrating " noise " (more like a feeling) down there. Can that be mucus/fluids starting to reatin? Well, anyway... What is your opinion on my atrial fibrillation in January 2008? I got this extreme stress-feeling in my body, plus diffucult to breathe (pressure on the chest) at times, for like 8 months prior to the atrial fibrillation. This could've been the start of Adrenal Fatigue. Anyway. At the time I got the atrial fibrillation, my FT3 was higher than normal. It should be between 3.5 and 7.8, and mine was 16.0 - I hope I didn't take my T3 meds before I did the blood sample. I don't think I did, but I am not sure. - Could it have been rT3 (I am just guessing here, but: as a result after getting AF, with HIGH cortisol at first, then low) Like rT3 was preventing T3 from going into my cells and it appeared as high FT3 instead? Should I watch out for LOW FT3 in the blood or HIGH FT3 in the blood these days while on ERFA Thyroid? I am talking to my specialist about doing T3 only soon, as an option. (With HC) > > ANY tT3 was better than none. When in myxedema what you die from is > fluid in the lungs and chest, or basically CHF . Guest guest
What do you mean that was a steep change? You just told me it was a reasonable change too? I am a zombie. Forgive me for my slowness of mind. I always learned that you have to do changes with Thyroid meds SLOWLY. Guess that doesn't always count... It takes no less than 3 months to see the " real " change in the blood from a dose change. Now, I started taking 1/2 grain 18 days ago. Upped to 1 grain 7 days ago. Removed my T4 (my own decision) today. Is it safe to just remove 50 mcg T4 like that? My specialist told me that I can remove T4 just like that because we SUSPECT T4 isn't turning into T3, but rather rT3! Today I took 9 mcg T3 and 38 mcg T4. = 1 grain Thyroid. It's not much of a dose now is it... Maybe I should try to increase Thyroid with 1/2 grain more? But WHEN can I do that? Maybe I should wait some days/weeks more? And take a new blood sample before I up it? As for temperatures... I should watch out for TOO LOW temps if I make the switch to T3-only, right? And too slow pulse? Guest guest
Erfa adn T4 all slowly leave th ebody over several weeks., It is safe to just stop them as your own thyroid will be still makeing SOME thyroid and it wil oick uyp what it is able to do to carry you till you can tolerate T3. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
