Vicki,

I can't imagine waiting that long!!! I mean to miss out on all these shopping opportunities...but painting the crib yourself at 9 months...what a Martha you are. I am really enjoying spending the time and money on baby things. I just never thought I would get this chance and since this is it for us....I figure we deserve to go out 100%.

Hi Dana,

Your shopping trip and setting up the crib sounds so cute! Have fun!!!!

maria

Guess what she bought??

Hey all, Yep, I thought I had her under control, but then we got this package from her sister. It had crib sheets and receiving blankets all in theme we have chosen with a $50.00 gift certificate to BabiesRUs. Well that just "forced" us to go there just to "look around". We had already decided on a baby bed months before we even got pg, but now she says she hates it. The wood's too dark and it just doesn't look right. So she picks out this light wood one (kinda blond wood I guess) she calls it natural wood, and let me say it is beautiful - and decides that's the one. In fact it was on sale.....so you know what she did....BOUGHT IT!! Not only bought it but brought it home, set it up, and put all the bedding on it. It was so cute to watch her struggle to get it together but she did it!! And then we had to put the bedding on it, and brought in the card table to put the gifts we have already gotten on it (way too many for this early). SO it's beginning to look like we are going to have a baby in the house!! I know it's early, but what was I going to do?? I held her off this long but she just couldn't wait any longer. It was sooo much fun and videotaped her putting the bed together to begin our "baby tape". I can't believe I can actually go in that store and buy something for "our" baby. :) This is so much fun!! Dana,

We went with the yellow background border, it matches the color of th

walls. We registered at Babies R Us after we found out the sex of the

baby, and choose all the other items, I had a hard time deciding

there are so many. We finally narrowed it all down. The Babies R Us

web site is great, you can see all the items and they have reviews

from customers who bought the items, which is helpful.

I am having a baby shower on July 7, the lady I work with is throwing

it, and she told me so it is not a suprise! I was so excited, I

looked on the registry list the other day and some things were be

bought (shame on me for looking!) and I was shocked, don't know why

but I was. This is defenitely the fun part of the pg. We got our

first gift in the mail yesterday, so that was great getting home from

work and seeing a package there. I am having patience and holding out

to open it to the shower though, don't know how, but I am trying.

I bought a couple of months ago the JL scrapbook and was supposed to

start putting it together, documenting the pregnancy, but it is still

on the shelf where I put it when I got it home. I really want to

start it, I just don't seem to have the time.

Dana,

You go girl!! 100%, 110%.....I guess I'm doing the same with finally

having a girl :) Looking back I'm not sure why I waited so long to do

the baby's room, we moved in our house when I was 6 months pg and I

guess we were going to alot of softball games!! (oh, to be young

again!!LOL!) I did put a border up in the room like a month before he

was due, and I had bought the bedding set, hmmmmm I think we didn't get

the crib from my Dad's friends that were giving it to us until a month

before, maybe that's why. It was painted brown before and I repainted

it white with the legs red and blue and yellow, it was pretty cute at

the time, but after the 3 boys (and it had already been through 3 other

kids..) it was falling apart! soooooo....Mikaela got a new crib :)

Anyway...I'm so happy for you and glad that the morning sickness is gone

now so you can FULLY enjoy your pregnancy!!! Yea!! You two have a

wonderful time shopping and preparing...the only think you can't prepare

for is the lack of sleep (but I'm kind of enjoying that too--weird huh?)

I guess because I know this tiny baby stage won't last forever, it is

already going too fast! Take care, send pictures of the nursery when you

get it done if you can.

Dana,

Did you girls look at the gliders at BabiesRUs? I know the material that most of them come with is pretty cheesy, but you can order different fabric... not sure if you knew that. It's considered a special order and takes like 12 weeks, but you've got some time. I looked through the fabric and saw several that I really liked. I'm sure they'd have something a little better than what they display on the floor.

Our furniture is also made by Baby Italia... it's the cherrywood collection.

Kim,

I think we will also register after we know the sex of the baby and of course it will be at BabiesRUs since that's where we happen to spend most of our time!! I can't wait to get be at that point but I still have a while to go. He said it would be 20 weeks before he would do that u/s and I will only be 16 weeks tomorrow (only 16 weeks - who knew I'd ever say that?).

I like the yellow border too. How did you ever find paint to match. We considered the yellow but were afraid we would never be able to match the paint. All the colors are kinda "different" really but I love it.

Baby shower time!!!!! How exciting!!!! It's special to share your excitement with those who care about you. And it's just around the corner too. Are you having a theme? I know that might sound weird but I just got invited to a "round the clock" baby shower and I got bath time. It was really fun buying the little tub and rubber ducky as well as the soaps, powders, and lotions. I had never heard of this type of shower before but it does guarantee a variety of gifts. As far as looking at the registry (shame shame) I probably would too.

I want that JL scrapbook, where did you find it??

Vicki,

Yea, since we know this is our only go round at this whole baby thing we decided why hold back?? It's so much fun! The only thing that would make it better would be knowing if the baby were a boy or a girl. Add to the shopping enjoyment and expand the possibilities. I just can't wait to find out, and I can only imagine if it was a girl. Woo, Barbies are Us we here come!!
