Dana,

How cute is that! I'm happy got to go on a wild shopping spree! It must be great to have someone who actually wants to go and spend tons of money shopping for baby stuff! I can't even begin to imagine Mike being "pumped up" about going to Babies R Us... :0) Now, don't get me wrong, he'll go, but only after lots of prodding from me!

So, what other furniture pieces are you going to get? I have my eye one this new glider that costs way too much money, especially since I have a regular rocking chair that is just fine... it's just not anywhere near as comfortable! You guys did go with the Lennon theme, right? I think I remember you telling us that. I've seen that there and it's very cute!

Well, I hope you are enjoying yourselves!

Dana,

I bet it all looks darling! How exciting! Well, I guess that's the

perogative of any parent-to-be...we can always change our minds! I

would love to see the tape of putting everything together...what

a hoot!

Isn't it amazing all of the gifts you get? I'm already running out of

room on the shelves in the closet! And, all of this before showers!!!

I think it's hard for people to hold off because everything is so darn

cute!!!

Have fun and enjoy your nursery!!!

Dana,

That's so cute! It sounds like had a blast and isn't that what this is all about? But the time this baby comes you will probably have her/him outfitted for a year - enjoy yourselves!

Guess what she bought??

Hey all, Yep, I thought I had her under control, but then we got this package from her sister. It had crib sheets and receiving blankets all in theme we have chosen with a $50.00 gift certificate to BabiesRUs. Well that just "forced" us to go there just to "look around". We had already decided on a baby bed months before we even got pg, but now she says she hates it. The wood's too dark and it just doesn't look right. So she picks out this light wood one (kinda blond wood I guess) she calls it natural wood, and let me say it is beautiful - and decides that's the one. In fact it was on sale.....so you know what she did....BOUGHT IT!! Not only bought it but brought it home, set it up, and put all the bedding on it. It was so cute to watch her struggle to get it together but she did it!! And then we had to put the bedding on it, and brought in the card table to put the gifts we have already gotten on it (way too many for this early). SO it's beginning to look like we are going to have a baby in the house!! I know it's early, but what was I going to do?? I held her off this long but she just couldn't wait any longer. It was sooo much fun and videotaped her putting the bed together to begin our "baby tape". I can't believe I can actually go in that store and buy something for "our" baby. :) This is so much fun!! The whole baby buying is FUN and I am more than thankful she is as excited (maybe more) than I am about it. We did go with the Lennon theme. So far we have painted the nursery white, we are putting up a chair rail which will also be white and below it we will paint the wall a light purple (color's in the bedding). Then right about the chair rail we are putting the "bigger" Lennon border. It's really cute :).

We are going to go back soon and get the changing table and dresser that match the bed. hasn't decided if she wants a glider or a rocker - seems she thinks the material used on the cushion part of most gliders is a little cheesy although JC Penney's had some pretty ones in their catalogue. Oh who knows. The furniture is Baby Italia in the light wood. It's so cute. I still have my computer in the baby's room for now (used to be my office) but we are buying a smaller computer desk for our bedroom (could we fit any more furniture in there). But everytime I come in here it freaks me out to see the bed all made up. Really brings it home that soon we will have our little here at home!!! I just can't wait. I so enjoy the pg part but nothing like I will enjoy the mommy part.

Jo-Ann,

She did have a blast and it was so fun watching her. I mean it was a joint decision but she spent so much time comparing beds and features. :) What a wonderful time in our lives this is and it only stands to get more wonderful. When I read your stories about Tessa I can only imagine what it will be like when we have our own little one. But for now I live vicariously through your parenting experiences and hope some of your wisdom rubs off!!

KimR,

Now I remember it was you guys that were doing the Lennon theme as well. Now why did you have to make bumper pads? They came with my bedding set. The only problem I can see is that the comforter is hard to tuck in on the sides and since it is so wide I couldn't figure out any other way to make it look right in the bed. How did you put yours in it??

We already got the JL snow globe, lamp, picture frame, and book ends from friends, but they are still in there boxes until we finish painting the room. I just love the colors in the bedding and it gives you alot of decorating choices.

Oh and I think every boy needs a jean jacket and baseball cap. I saw this little t-shirt in BabiesRUs that said "My first pair of Levi's" and I wanted it so bad, but chose to wait on the clothing until we know the sex of the baby. But when we do----watch out cause I am sure the baby will have way more than he/she needs.

We LOVE the shopping part and like you are spending incredible amounts of money of stuff that may only get used once or twice, but we figure as much as we spent to get him/her here it's all worth it.

I know you have to be getting excited since it won't be long now!!! Keep me updated ;0

Dana,

That is so funny what you wrote about having her under control! Once

it starts, there is no stopping, my dh (and me to, I am afraid) are

the same way! I am afraid that this little one has a lot of clothes,

my absolute fav is a little jean jacket that I could not resist

buying. Every boy needs a jean jacket and baseball hat right!

You are doing the same nursery theme as us, the Lennon

Collection right? Isn't is aborable. I have Christian's nursery all

set up, except for some pictures on the walls, and I just love it. We

set ours up a few weeks ago since I could not resist, but I was

worried about it getting dusty. So my dh bought a plastic paint drop

cloth (see through so we could still see set) and drapped it over

crib, this way everything stays neat and clean. For the cradle for

our bedroom, my mil made bumpers, and covered them with a the fabric

from a Lennon crib sheet, they look so cute and match his room

perfect.

Enjoy this time, it is wonderful! I just know by the time this baby

arrives that we are both going to be broke, but who cares, it is the

most fun shopping for cute stuff!

Dana,

I'm so happy for the two of you, it sounds like you are two kids loose in the candy store. But that's what it's all about. Just think how much more joy this baby will bring when you hold her/him in your arms for the first time!

Dana,

We made the bumper pads for the cradle, which is what the baby will

go in when he first comes home in our bedroom, it is like a bassinet,

but wood to match his crib. The size is much smaller, so the crib

bumper pads were to big. I put the bumpers that came with the set on

the crib. I just put the comforter drapped over the front side of the

crib, so you can see half of it. I did not know what to do with it. I

was thinking of attaching little cloth hooks to match the fabric and

hanging it on the wall. I know the comforter is to big to use when

the baby is in the bed, so it is really just for decoration. I

thought that I would use it also when the baby is old enought to play

on the floor.

We painted our walls a creamy/mustardy yellow on the bottom, and we

have molding about 16 inches down from the ceiling, so we painted

the top half a blue, like the color in the bedding, and under the

modiling on the yellow part of the wall hung the Lennon Border,

it is so aborable.

Above his changing table, I painted a little shelf with pegs white

and bought the JL stuffed animals to match the bedding, and put them

up there, they are aborable, especially the frog. We just took

pictures of the nursery on Sunday, so when I get them developed I

will be sure to upload them to the site.

Have fun shopping, it is the best. My dh really loves baseball, so

our baby has several baseball outfits so far, the best is a little

romper with the Yankees logo, his fav team. It is aborable, dh wants

him to wear it home, but it will be to big. For fathers day, I bought

dh and the baby matching baseball gloves, the baby's is so small next

to his. When I am shopping, and questioning if I should but another

piece of clothing, I always justify it in my mind by saying the kid

can't go without clothes, everyone needs them!

That is so sweet! It is nice to have the crib set up though....when we

had Matt (our first) we set up the crib while I was in labor!! I had

just finished painting it the night before. He was 2 weeks early so we

were not all that prepared! I panicked and we left for the hospital

before we got it done, I had nothing to worry about, we didn't even have

him for another 10 hours!!! I was not even at 1 cm when I checked in the

hospital. Enjoy it all! You deserve to relish this pregnancy !

Dana, I am glad you two (specially , it sounds like!!(smile)) are havingi so much fun!!! Enjoy. Kim R,

Thanks for the explanation about the bumper pads, I just couldn't figure out why you had to make them. I didn't realize his bassinet was wooden and would need bumper pads as well. That's such a cute idea :) As far as that comforter goes, I guess I am not the sharpest tack, but I thought it was like a bedspread and would fit the bed better. Boy was I wrong. I like the idea of using it as a wall hanging. That would really be very decorative, and make good use of it. I saw on the picture in the bag it came in they just have it draped over the bed.

I can only imagine how adorable the nursery is. I can't wait to see pictures of it. I know the colors have to so complement the JL stuff. Too Cute!! We are using the JL with the white background (did you use that or go with the more yellow background?) so the top will be white and the bottom purple like the color block on the comforter.

I didn't think about the stuffed animals to match, but I did see that they even have clothes with the same JL design.

I am having a blast shopping. Now Rene and I are trying to decide on the pack and plays and stroller. What a job to choose between so many. We aren't "planning" to buy yet, but want to begin narrowing down the choices. How about you have you picked out the other "stuff"?

I agree about buying the clothes, you can never have to many and you never know what outfit the occasion may call for...Happy Shopping!!

Vicki,

I can't imagine waiting that long!!! I mean to miss out on all these shopping opportunities...but painting the crib yourself at 9 months...what a Martha you are. I am really enjoying spending the time and money on baby things. I just never thought I would get this chance and since this is it for us....I figure we deserve to go out 100%.
