Guest guest Report post Posted March 12, 2001 1/3 cup cold water 1/3 cup flax seeds (ground) cream and splenda You don't have to use 1/3 cup, but whatever you do use, flax seed and cold water should be the same amount. FLAX Ok, I bought some. The health food store had two kinds, one ground flax seed on the shelf in a box, and one, in the fridge in a bag that said Ground flax seed meal. I bought the fridge one. Hope it is right, does anyone know? It is made by Bob's Red Mill or something like that. And ok, so sorry but I think i deleted the recipe. So one more time, can someone send it to me. so sorry. thanks corky who can't wait to try this for BREAKFASTPlease visit our homepage at http://members.xoom.com/AChallengersYou will find information, recipes, before and after pictures. To contact the list owner please send mail to lindag@...Visit our 2000 Train Tour Site - http://www.brunnet.net/k & l/web_site_train_tour/actraintour.htm
Guest guest Report post Posted March 13, 2001 HI a Why wait til breakfast? it is 4 g of carbs and 4 g of fibre so 0 carbs. I say try it with some cold water and 1 teaspoon of Splenda. You do not need the cream because the taste is strong enough to cover it anyway. That is what I have. Bob's Red Mill and I bought it on the shelf in a foil bag but now that I have opened it I keep it in the fridge. NNN

Guest guest Report post Posted March 13, 2001 U may count the carbs in the flax itself if you want, technically on atkins u shud count them but I do subtract the fiber and count the flax as 0 but I count the cream and splenda as 1 each In a message dated 3/13/01 7:37:27 AM Eastern Standard Time, corkyb@... writes: > How do I count the carbs in the cereal? Guest guest Report post Posted March 13, 2001 The flax has the same amount of carbs as it does fibre so you subtract that and it equals 0. Then you must count carbs for AS and cream if you use it. I did not use cream, I used water and it tasted the same. Sure it is not that hot but better than wheat germ. And when I was breast feeding babies I used to eat Brewers Yeast. Now there is a yuck! I have much more energy today having eaten my Flax seed meal cereal. NNN

Guest guest Report post Posted March 13, 2001 I put a bit of vanilla extract in mine also I don't care for really sweet stuff. I don't like any sugar on my cereal and when I used it in my coffee it was just a drop, not even a teaspoon. SO idont' think I would like the whole packet. The flax seed with cream did fill me up, but it almost made me gag at times too. I will try it again tomorrow and see. I can't imagine it without the cream, I was certainly tasting that. a
