Actually, I DID catch her pouring something from her Taco Time into her protein

shake making cup yesterday when she made a PS100 chocolate. She said that all

the Diet Coke was gone, but ....

Colas, tea, same, same.

Still brown liquids, still interferes with calcium absorption and

can aim toward kidney stones. It's not " never " , so much as " in moderation " .

Oh yeah, that's right. My active little boys are 30 & 32 now. Don't want THAT

to happen to me again!

We went. She is fine.

Am I safe?

Re: Giving up Carbonation

Michele,

I think if you are keeping Terry since she won't be able to get to

Dr. Oh's, you need to be aware that she has 3 very ACTIVE little

boys that go with her and I'd think twice about this. Trust me on

this one.

Michele,

Now that Terry's gone home, who's going to keep a watchful eye on

you to make sure you drink the right thing?

Um. Well, it isn't gonna be Don. He's back up to 44 oz a day! At least I'm

sticking with one med size.

If you hadn't threatened me with a pack of kids, she'd still be here now,

nagging in harmony. LOL!

Stacie,

I am 16 months postop and I was a Diet Coke aholic before the WLS......I have

not had a carbonated drink since.....Well, I took a sip once and the bubbles

almost killed me.so I have had none in 14 months.......

Believe it or not, water tastes wonderful..........I got a filter that you

put on your water faucet at home and drin that with ice in a mug all

day.....If I stop for gas, I get the baottled water...I found a wonderful

flavored water called Propel by Gaterade, and it is a nice change.........I

keep de-caff tea made up with Splends in a pitcher at home, also for a

change.......

I think when you see the new changes in your appearance, carbponated

beverages will not matter anymore..........

Oh, like my watching was helping? It only guilted her into drinking a little

more water.

BTW, everyone. Judy Shapow is my Mom. You know, the one who gave birth to me

as opposed to VitaMom. :)
