Kelli,

As I was reading your e-mail you posted it caught my eye. My name is Judy and I am quite new to this group. I was reading through the Q & A to dr's and was very impressed with Dr. Indman's approach. I am currently living in jerusalem,Israel my family is from NY and I was very seriously considering to go see Dr Indman. Were you diagnosed with severe asherman's? I was and I was wondering if he would suit my needs. How long will you end up being the second time you go back to CA? How can I get in touch with him about my case? Please advise me I really appreciate it. Being that I am soo young and sooo messed up I am really anxious to fly in to the states shortly and to set myself up.

thanking you in advance for your time

I have been offline for about 1 week as I watch my life get worse and worse. As some of you may know, we were getting very close to starting our IVF cycle with a surrogate. After many fail attempts and cancelled cycles with a different surrogate everything finally looked perfect. My dr does a mock cycle and then does a biopsy of the uterine tissue to make sure the body is responding to the meds. Well, guess what - hers is not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it could go wrong it will for me.. I thought I would just die!! I can't seem to catch a break.

So, here's the new plan. We are perusing adopting a baby girl from Vietnam. ( it takes about 1 year). I am scheduled for a consultation w/ Dr. Indman on July 15th and he said he will do surgery that same week. I had contacted him b/f in the past and he would not agree to do it b/c of the follow up appts he does (weekly hsteroscopies to check/remove scarring). I'm going to stay out there for 2 weeks. Surgery plus 1 follow up. I will return 1 week later for another week and 2 more follow ups. I know it sounds absolutely crazy, but I feel it is the right decision. Plus, he can get me in in 21/2 weeks. So, needless to say I am worn out and spent of all positive energy. Do you think it will ever get any better?? Kelli

I did make an appointment with Dr. Swanson for August

28. It just sounds so long to wait - is this normal?

When others have called to schedule appointments, how

long has it taken to get in? My HSG is next Monday

and my dr wants to do surgery next Wed. I was hoping

to get another opinion before then, but it seems like

that is kindof unrealistic. Does waiting an few

months make a difference as far as treatment goes?

Hi Berkeley,

You also might call his office and tell the person who does his

scheduling that if there are any cancellations to please call you. I

know they bupmed me up on f/u visits because of cancellations. But

like said you don't want to go to someone who doesn't know what

they are doing. What Dr. are you seeing now. And why do theywant to

already schedule your surgey with out knowing yet if it AS or not,

and how severe it is. I know Dr. Swanson did and HSG first to

confirm and then he did an SHG (Sonohyst) and then we did surgery and

he also did a few Ultrasounds in between to check my lining. I would

just make sure to ask as many questions as you can before surgery.

Maggy,

Unfortunately malpractice is hard to come by, even in a case as clear as yours! My case is similar to yours except I have no children. I live in the New York area, and use Dr. Copperman. He is on the A list of doctors. There is also Dr. Palter in Long Island. In New York on the B list of doctors, there is Dr. Noyes and Dr. Berkely. They all seem to have relatively similar experience. They all take different insurance.

Hope this helps,

K

I had a d & c preformed 8 months ago after finding out that I had a blighted ovum (empty sac). I went to an abotrtion clinic and had a d & c there. At this time , my current ob/gyn had dropped my insurance company so when I found out I was pregnany I was in the process of picked one. This clinic I went to is affiliated with Albert Einstein Hospital in New York. The doctor who performed the procedure has a good reputation. Before this pregnancy I had another d & c, I was miscarring. I currently have 2 sons ages 8 and 10. With all of these complications I have decided to not have anymore children. I was put on provera for 10 days after missing my period the second month and no results. I have been having some cramping every month and wonder If I my cevix is blocked where does the flow go and what kind of complications can result from this. Also, is there anyone who can refer me to a grade "A" doctor in NYCwho is knowledgeable on ashermans? Is the doctor who performed this procedure liable for this unfortunate circumstance? I am worried about this and pray everything will be o.k.. THANKS....MAGGY

Dear Maggy,

I just joined this group last week and everyone has been so nice. I have

learned SO much from these girls! You sound like me. I haven't had a period

since before my son-3 1/2 years ago. I did have him by c-section and had a

fever afterwards that noone could explain. I have also tried

provera-contraceptives-nothing worked. Then they thought I had a pituitary

tumor-so i had an mri. That was normal-then i saw an endocrinologist who

basically shut the door on me. When i tried a new doctor, she had mentioned

AS-so far I had an ultrasound which is proving her diagnosis. I am having my

HSG tomorrow to find out for sure. We shall see! Hope all goes well with

yours.

Hello Maggy and welcome to our group. Did you have your HSG yet? Tell us how it went. Sounds, like your cervix is blocked. If this is the only place your scarring is and your uterus is scar free, it might mean that you are having normal periods but the blood is backflowing out of your tubes and into your abdominal cavity. We have learnt from this group that with time, this could cause endometriosis.

Have you looked at our A list of doctors? I think there is one near you if you are in NYC. Also, with regards to sueing. I am one of those members who has tried to sue. This year, I won my case out of court but unfortunately there is some debate with one of the Ministers as to the amount they are going to give me and this is now delaying everything. I sued the Government here in Cyprus because my ashermans was caused in the State hospital.

Hope this helps and please let us know about your HSG and whether you have found out if you have ashermans.

Best wishes

Not sure about this, but I will tell you what happened. I do know that when

your thyroid is in " trouble " , your periods can be very messed up. For

instance, when I was very hyper thyroid, and then they diagnosed the

papillary cancer shortly after, I went for just about a year without one. My

GYN had me diagnosed as " early menopause " , and also as " premature ovarian

failure " , even though I had a normal FSH range, on blood tests. Two days

after the cancer - thyroid was removed, I again got my period. (Sorry if this

was too graphic!) - Seems like it had to be more than related!
